It’s insane that this is almost 40 years old and yet it’s by far the best on screen fights
🙄
@@lisa8406what?
In Jackie's book, he talks about rehearsing this scene. There was so much hype over this fight from fans and even his own stunt team that both Benny and Jackie got a little carried away with it. So, when it came time to shoot they went a little off script to test each other. In the end, even though they were pulling their kicks and punches, Jackie said that he would never want to fight Benny for real.
If you don't mind me asking, which book is that? It sounds interesting and i'd quite like to read it, I see Jackie has a number of books, if you could let me know which one, i'd be very grateful, thank you.
Hell nah he didn't say that
Are you joking?Benny is champion fighter and Jackie is actor
@@aqzhol4858 wow you must be young. Jackie also trained combat sports, hes not a professional fighter but nor is he just an actor
@@dannyhussain5489he gotta be a kid🤣
no shaky cam , wide open shots , love it!

Guy can take punches to the ribs but succumbs to tickles 🤣🤣🤣
Loved it.
Such an underrated fight scene.
It's the most highly touted fight scene ever. Opposite of underrated.
I still a VHS from 90s which is a documentary about martial arts and movies, telling us that this is probably the best fight in the genre. Underrated? Nop.
yeah there's something poetic about that tickle.. so artful this
3:18 😂what a cheeky bugger he truly is.😅😁 He finds COMEDY in the MOST unusual circumstances there is!😆
Theres a reason its not allowed in pro fights. Tickling is kryptonite
That spinning back kick when Benny was taking off his coat was sick.
The flip Jackie did to avoide Benny's kick was even sicker
The left counter backhand was better, watch the speed, frightening
Man. I’ve seen this scene at least 50 times and I’m always impressed by that kick. 🔥🔥
Benny blowing the candles out with his fast kick and no camera cuts or special effects is pure awesomeness
i want benny in tekken 8 as a dlc character
1:08 I love how his kick has so much force it blows out the candles
Benny said the filming crew blew the candles
@@jimtran7447 ofc it isn’t real but small details like that are nice to see
@Jim Tran sure, but it was still cool AF
Yup it was a great movie
@@jimtran7447 actually he did blow out those candles with his kick, just that with so many retakes he pulled his glutes and hamstring that he needed the crew to blow them out
The fight coreography is incredible. The timing, the long unbroken shots. This fight stands the test of time. They really made something special.
Sammo hung directing and top action designer.
One of the ALL TIME GREAT FIGHT SCENES. I didn't know who Benny the Jet was. Turns out he was the real deal fighting Champion for many years, but his acting in this scene was second to none here too. What great movie action!!!!
not in this dub
It's absolutely amazing that Benny said that if Jackie, at that age, had competed in full contact kick boxing that he'd be one of the greatest competeitive fighter.
Definitely without a doubt he would have been a great competitor full respect to benny they have upmost mutual respect for each other.
@@ZAK19857 Benny taught Jackie english
Benny actually said he could have been a champion actually.
well Jackie is very athletic and tough as fuck. But Jackie himself said he didnt have the mindset of a fighter, but he could very well be a very successful one if he wanted to.
If Benny the Jet says you'd be great? You'd be great.
When Michael Jai White says a fight scene is the best, you listen. He was right.
Came from that vid too
Came from there too
Me too haha
I actually came from that video too! Haha! I hella respect that guy's opinion
I just came from that video and I haven't figured out what makes this scene better than others, could someone explain to me please
I’ve seen this fight scene a hundred times and it never gets old. One of the best ever.
It also has all the hallmarks of a great Jackie Chan fight: he’s outmatched and frustrated, he gets beat up pretty good while desperately getting his own shots in, and most importantly he’s funny.
...and with Sammo Hung choreographing it all too. With him on board you couldn't go wrong, and the way Sammo packs on-screen combatants with power and gets them to look their very best is what makes him such a legend in his own right. I always thought that Jackie looked his very best as a martial artist when Sammo choreographed him, and it definitely shows here.
Qual é o título do filme
If only they had done a dragon ball movie, Jackie would've been a great Goku because that is what goku is in all of his fights
Whos here after watching Jai white say this was awesome lol??
Internet is a powerful thing
Me
I've actually never seen this movie I have no idea how this happened
Literally I used to own what I thought was every single Jackie Chan movie and every James Bond movie and I still had not seen this movie I'm flabbergasted
I actually do want to talk about this fight scene so if anybody wants to talk about this let's have a talk
That kick from Benny that blew the candles out was cold! I just found out about this guy. He’s a legend fr!
Watch out for a new documentary about benny the jet produced by Keanu reeves!
"You're pretty good." I knew I was getting Kojima vibes from this. Definitely an inspiration for Hideo Kojima during the making of Metal Gear Solid, no matter how big or small. My god, what an incredible action scene.
This is the best one on one fighting scene in the history of cinema. It feels so real, because both are actual martial artists(jackie being an actor and a supreme athlete as well). This fight showed that Jackie can fight for real and he wasn't just a mere fight choreographer and parkuour legend.
The extras just having to lie motionless while these 2 go at it still cracks me up 🤣🤣
How haven't I seen this fight scene in my 35 years. This has to be one of the best fight scenes ever.
3:18 Possibly the most unstoppable attack in the history of martial arts.
Wheels on Meals-- Best visual quality right here. The best choreographed fight in cinema, IMO.
The spin kick that blew out the candles is still one of my favorite moments in martial arts cinema.
its not the same without jackie's dub. still good nonetheless.
Lol I just commented the same thing 👍🏽
Was that dub actually Jackie's Voice???.
@@ataladin87 in one of the versions, yes. all three main characters voiced for the dub
and the score is somewhat subdued compared to the other one
@Topper Dragon yes that's what i said
For me, it's the kick at 2:46.
That and the way Benny blocks.
Unpopular opinion: if this was directed by anyone but Sammo, I don't believe that we'd be talking about this movie at all.
I am forever saddened Sammo never got to do Soul Calibur. He wanted Jackie Chan to play Hwang…
Sammo hung yuen biao and Jackie. Chan❤❤❤
If JACKIE directed it, it would be on a whole new level.
One of the most iconic and fiercest martial arts fight in history
If this was out today just imagine all the quick cuts and shaky cam this scene would have
I remember seeing this before knowing who Benny was. One of the most deadly fighters of his time. Fast and explosive. Go watch some of his pro matches. Dude was straight bagging people.
0:35 jackie is so good he even played super mario theme with his body. damn.
Incredible! No gaffs, just great combat between these two! Even when one guy finally lands a strike, it’s choreographed to be real rather than one guy just waiting to be hit!
This is not a fight, this is art. This is the Mona Lisa of fight choreography. Its a mixture of the way its paced, choreographed, fought and shown that makes this so good looking and unique!! feels real, brawly and natural but also atheltic and intense. So many things that goes into a fight choreography like this one, the way how the camera moves with the action and captures it all that make it so special
Amazing sequence at 1:01 I love Benny's combo and the defense from Chan
That fight scene was incredible that Benny’s character deserved to have a name as opposed to just being “thug” lol
My personal favorite fight scene of all time. Benny is amazing. Jacky was lucky to get to work with him so often.
They should’ve kept Keith Morrison’s original theme for this. Still the best fight scene, now in the best quality. Thanks for sharing !
Yes. Glad you noticed that too. The original music for this fight scene was way way better and matches the action taking place. The music they laid down for this clip was slow and boring. Doesn't match the real action of the scene.
@@ivebeenaround58 The music in this version IS the original music from the Cantonese version. The soundtrack you're thinking of was made for the original English dub. Not trying to claim that this inherently makes it better or anything, I just thought that you should know. I think both tracks fit well and give their own flavors to the fight
Jackie Chan did so much funny stuff that we all forgot he has a black belt in Hapkido and is high-level in Judo, Taekwondo, and Karate. Man is a fighter.
I love the way the camera frames a guy then pulls out to recenter on both of them. This is like something you'd see in a video game now in a fighting game. Amazing stuff.
Tekken
@@sara.cbc92that funny I was thinking that 2
One of the best fighting clip in entire movie industry history. And people in future can hardly surpass it.
Just watched this scene with my 6 yesr old. He loved it! 🥰
whats crazy is how this scene just evolves.. and once jackie is like.. ima treat this like a game.. it gets so fluid
An all-time great, now in crispy HD. Nice.
Small thing that might actually be important, and I'd like to thank Urquidez for teaching us this lesson: _You can perform the spinning back kick -- _*_LITERALLY the best counter any kickboxing style has to offer_*_ -- while taking off your jacket._
Insane HD quality. Drunken Master in 4K would be another incredible watch. Police Story also.
This feels so real because Benny here was a pro fighter but not really trained in the art of movie fighting. Hadn't quite mastered the art of pulling his punches at this point in his career. Jackie didn't hold back either, they are really beating the shit out each other in a lot of this. So, if it feels like some of this is a little too real? It's because it probably was.
yeah, the fight is choreographed but the hits felt real.
the reason i think it's the best is that they throw feints, look for openings to land strikes, desperation, Like when jackie started using jabs to find an open punch. very back and fourth too. head movement , not every strike attacks land.
And benny definitely ate a real one for the slow mo lmao
@@striker045 without a doubt.
@@Ffeoli1039 the Good Guy wearing dark clothing,Evil Guy wearing light clothing how ironic...
No unnecessary movements. Very well executed and probably, if not, the best fight scene of all time.
It's great when fighting is not about rage and wanting to kill your opponent, but rather about who is the best and being merciful.
Here from Michael Jai White stating Best Fight Scene Ever, now to Watch!!! ❤MMA
Just got recommend that video and I'm here too
Mane that kick 2:46 was too damn clean
Real life that would be a good night kick
E X A C T L Y !!!
The timing, flexibility, speed, accuracy ! Was.led here by a vid of Michael Jai White saying this was the best fight scene ever !!! He is RIGHT !!!
Spinning hook kick
"I am not a superhero like bruce lee, nobody can beat him. I like when people beat me." - Jackie Chan
Jackie Chan>>>Bruce Lee
If I was only allowed to show my kids one scene from a Jackie Chan movie, this would be it.
01:37 this sequence all the way into what seemed like a setup into a mean sweep is everything. The only moment I have even with it is the first knee to elbow combo throw by the table.
Still the best 1 on 1 fight ever put to film. Fantastic!
I love how a lot of the time during this fight Benny has a face like he wouldn't hurt a fly. ^^ Absolute legend
0:52 that punch was sick
4:37 ouch that punch looked like it actually connected 😵
It did. Benny said several punches connected and even the knee at the end in real.
He had some cotton in his mouth to dampen the blow but yeah it’s still a real punch
They don't make fight scenes as iconic as this anymore. Hats off to both these guys they are amazing
3:39 Poor Jackie! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Use to watch Bennys matches in the 80s. He’s the real deal and was undefeated. Cheers🍺🍺😎🎸
0:40 That nod of approval is the same one Benny Urquidez used to give opponents in the ring when they proved to him that they are good enough to give him a proper fight.
Someone mentioned it before but the pan out at 2:56 is the best. The square off and then the back and forth bout, mwuah.
I’m here because Michael Jai white
im here from the Scott Adkins interview of Benny Urquidez - Wheels On Meals
This is why Jackie Chan fights are so much more engaging than guys like Jet Li or Bruce Lee: The hero isn't 10x better than the antagonist. He gets hit and gets hurt. He has to work out how to be his opponent.
Alot of people say that this is the greatest fight scene of all time...I think Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris would beg the differ 💯
Good, how I missed those days when movies were actually movies. And these are true martial artists not to take anything away from them. They simply made the movie much better. God bless you, Benny and Jackie. Your souls will echo throughout time And in the heavens🫡
Two legit legends of martial arts, what a scene!
I like how Benny grabbed and snapped his suspenders at the start. Looked cool
3:32 lol what was jackie trying to do
Jackie was using the famous my face to your fist style.
It’s impossible to not be entertained during a Jackie Chan fight scene.
can't ever get satisfied seeing JC fight. each time I saw it back, there's always something new to realize
Choreography: phenomenal. A+
Sound effects: not so much.
Hits sound like a someone slapping ham with a spatula. lol
WATCHING THIS IN 4K IS NEXT LEVEL, THANK YOU!
Jackie is a legend ❤️
Work of art, a true classic fight scene.
micheal jay white brought me here
The fanny who said he could take Bruce kee if he was still alive and in his prime😂
@@DarrenTiffney-tq8xx i never saw that video
3:19 Goochie Goochie gooo 😂
Jackie moves like a modern mma fighter in this movie.
1:07 for the kick
Only time I was rooting for the bad guy... Benny is amazing.
The round house kick that blew out the candles was slick , very underrated
Everyone loves the candle-kick, but the sequence before it is electrifying. The table scraping across the floor is perfection.
I read a while back that there was a lot of animosity on set between Benny and Jackie's team during the shooting of this scene. Benny was a full-contact fighter and not used to stunt filming and pulling his punches and accidentally hit Jackie for real a number of times, some of which were used in the final cut of the film.
This is how the fight scenes in the newest Mortal Kombat movie should’ve been like 😔
3:41 The pain is real!
I have been a fan since I was watching rush hour 1 and Late season one early season 2 of Jackie Chan adventures live on some of the episodes Premiers and this scene has just made me a fan of a movie I didn't even know he did.
0:30 You can see what Jackie trying to do with his sweater trying to replicate what Benny did to his coat but he failed 🤣🤣🤣🤣. All of Benny's move is slick, while what stand out the most from Jackie is from @2:46 , @3:18 and lastly @4:02
michael jai white brought me here lol
The origin of Bruce Lee's relative "Chin" image.
The back kick at 1:36 is brutal.
Wow no cut scenes! Exceptional
High kick into that left hook in slow motion by Jackie was 🤌
The 30 second fight scene in " gross point blank" is very realistic.
Benny is such a good actor man, it’s insane…
La mejor coreografía de estos 2 monstruos, artistas de las artes marciales !!
Hm. That was a fun fight scene. Fantastic for its time.
I came here after watching Michael Jai white say this is still the best fight scene he has seen in movies till today
This is my child hood movie its a shame that they don't make movie's like this
I love that scene! The choreography was amazing and both of those guys are fast as sh*t!
Wow nunca había visto esta escena de tan buena calidad
I didn’t know about Jackie Chan prior to Rush Hour and for some reason never looked into movies made before it. Not only is this one of my favorite fights of his but it’s blowing my mind seeing him so young.
As far as I know these two did Two Fights in two different Movies. I think they should do one more Today with what they have at their Age now!!! 👊💥🦶
