Glen Helen held their first annual "Stop Watch National" race on Thursday, May 16th, just over a week before the 2024 Pro Motocross series kicks off at Pala. The race had a $10,000 Pro Purse, paid out to the top 10. It drew in a healthy crowd of spectators and a long list of AMA Pro riders, getting ready for the big show next weekend. Broc Tickle, Juilen Beaumer, Dante Olivera, Mateo Olivera, Ryder DiFrancesco, Pierce Brown, Marshal Weltin, Robbie Wageman, Jerry Robin, Josh Mosiman, Derek Kelley, CJ Bernard, Cole Martinez, Parker Ross and more showed up to race.
MXA test rider Josh Mosiman is preparing to race the Pala, Hangtown and RedBud Nationals, plus one Canadian National this summer and today was a great warm-up.

Test riders like Tickle put in more hours on a bike for the team then the team Riders ride their bikes it's not a surprise he won Tickle was a champion back in 2011 and no one can set up a bike better ❤

Man they need to make this a stop again as part of the pro nationals glen helen was always the first stop before everything switched over to 4 strokes I think they made it the last round a few times also but this is cool

It's good for the 250 guys, gives them a hard fight.
Now you got guys like jett that can do whatever PEDs he wants and still race. There should be no reason he doesn't beat McGrath's record with faster recovery and less injuries or At least a better chance of not getting injured in a crash.

It was EXTREMELY refreshing to hear Ken provide more insight in that hour than RC has his entire career in the booth. Harsh i know, but just listen to an analysis breakdown in real time by someone who knows the sport and then go back and try to listen to RC. Its painful.

Finally some outdoor racing. There were a lot of disappointing Supercross tracks this year which didn't allow for passing chances.

This was a Open Class ! So 250s against 450s ! Tickle on 450 has an advantage at this track but he’s also racing against Factory 250 riders coming out of a full season in Super cross ! Good for Tickle!
Tickle is impressive, though a 450 seems to have a bigger advantage against 250's on this particular track. That being said, he still has amazing talent. PS: Brown did win the first moto on a 250. Fun race!

brock tickle got caught up in a scam with the FIM where he was charged for taking body enhancing chemicals and was banned from racing any Ama sanctioned events.. He passed all his lie detector tests and never found where the chemicals came from that made him pee dirty.. So he was given I believe 5 year suspension.. So thats why he started working for Kawi as a test rider.. I believe it was swap Moto that did a story on it if ya want to go watch him talk about it.. Good watch..
This race really showcases why we need to re-evaluate the bikes sizes in Moto. 250/450 is not the answer. 250s can pretty much hang with 450s on most tracks and GH is an extreme case that should separate.
Why didn’t Trevor Stewart line up for moto two?
Not even a huge fan of Dayton Briggs but man the kid was ripping in the first moto! Definitely needs to get more eyes on him after that ride!

Moto1: two 250f’s holeshot 450s down that long of a start? At what point do we start to say the factory 250f’s are to fast… 250f’s were originally supposed to race 125’s. Bring back the original 125 class and make the 450 class an 350 and below class.

It should have been 2- 30 min "Time Trials" like they advertised. Stop pull in, make adjustments, set the fastest lap time.... not a race, that was dumb...
I am not crapping on Tickle, because he is a bad dude. But that’s not a good look for a retired guy to be beating the kids that are racing in a week.

i cannot even read your "mid-week reports" anymore as whoever wrote it made yet another critical error. it said jason lawrence "moved directly up the 450 the next year" after he won the 2008 250 west title. that isnt true. infact the picture you are using shows him running the number one... looks like a pic of him on a 250 in 2009 to me. A1 i believe he cut the track.. he raced a round or two (maybe 3) and THEN jumped to the 450.
I think it just proves how mmx in the usa is not the prominent sport any longer. Brock Tickle wouldnt score points in mxgp. Fantastic footage though, thank you
As a 63 yr old, the factories need to stop being cowards and get off the collective asses and start lobbying for 2 strokes to come back to the US. Asia, Africa, most of Europe and many other countries have them. C’mon dang it I’ll ride one and I am an amputee disabled vet with only 1 leg!
