During the late 1960's in NYC, Jimmy was just as busy as any other champion, sportsman, or manager...yet, somehow always had time to help a young fighter find his way, learn the ropes (of any profession). Jim collected all the great 16-mm films of boxing's legends (Louis, Marciano, Robinson, etc.) and was of incalculable help to me, personally. Jacobs knew how to overcome inner anxiety before any serious fight or performance. Whether in a boxing ring or a concert hall, Jacobs understood how to convert fear and pain into assets, the defining difference between a true champion and the showy pretense of one. As Shakespeare aptly put it, "So doth the greater glory dim the less: A substitute shines brightly as a king, until a king be by..." Jim Jacobs was just such royalty, also a kindhearted man, and patient teacher to many... and none of us will ever forget him. Rest in peace, maestro... JC (AKA: "The Texas Flash!")

Little do people know Jim Jacobs was Mike Tysons original manager. Let alone had the biggest comic book & boxing video archive collection.
