John, thank you sir for this awesome tutorial and to Boris FX for giving us this absolutely incredible tool. You guys totally, totally rock. Rock on ya'll.
Thank you very much for your lessons! As always, very informative!
Glad you like them! Thanks so much for the kind words.
Nice release with some cool improvements.
Great improvements, really grateful here!
Thank you 🙌
wow, you are my great master, thanks a lot
You are very welcome
I wish you showed us in details how you created that composition of the boy running and the particles following the red color on him... :(
We'll ask John to think about a more detailed tutorial! Thanks for letting us know.
This is an insane update
Agreed! The developers went nuts with this release.
wow !!
Thank you for the video, but I am a beginner. It's so hard to follow. Please provide the project file.
Congratulations on your tutorials. Like many of us, I switched from After Effects to Davinci Resolve a year ago. Please, is it possible to do a tutorial on Particle Illusion with Davinci? I notice that several software integrations are not working. Do you plan to do a full integration with Davinci?
Thank you very much for your good work.
Most of the functionality should work with Resolve. Only specific things like text paths won't. In Resolve you will have to choose which page you apply Particle Illusion in carefully. For example, if you want to reference another layer, you have to use the Color page, as the Edit page doesn't support multiple inputs. We'll get some more tutorials out about this.
@@BorisFXco Thank you! There are several of us now on Davinci. It is important to upgrade your Boris FX Particule Illusion products on Davinci. I will buy Contiuum as soon as it is fully integrated. I can't wait to see for next tutorial on this. Maybe I'll buy then ;-) Thanks again for considering this comment. It's very appreciated. Congratulations on your great product!
You should give it a try now. It is fully supported. We just have to work around different ways that the host product supports OFX filters. You can get a free trial here : bit.ly/30GkwJY
Looks Amazing ❤. Could you please share those demo projects 🎉
Let me check with John.
@@BorisFXco Thanks 🙏. Much appreciated ☺️
So, no matter what I do (I think I didn't just update Particle Illusion and After Effects to the latest versions, but half of the software I had on my computer JUST IN CASE), the setting "Particle masking" just doesn't appear on the list, and I can't find a way to use this first new feature you guys are telling about in the video. Same happens to my colleague. Do you know why it could happen?
If you click on the License button in the BCC Particle Illusion effect in After Effects, does it say Version 2023.5 / 16.5.x? If so, could you contact Support and they can try to troubleshoot further. If not, then the best thing would be to uninstall Continuum fully, and then reinstall the latest version from here : borisfx.com/downloads/?product=continuum&host=adobe
muito bom gostei
Graças a si!
Das ist mächtig gewaltig.
Das ist richtig!
Do it (masking) works in davinci resolve and if it works - how? Thanks for answer. There is no layers in DR, trying to do another ways, but haven't results
There are a couple of different ways to do this. In the Edit, Cut and Color pages, you can always use the PixelChooser to create masks for Particle Illusion. If you want to base things off another layer, you have to use the Color page. Drag Particle Illusion into the Nodes area and you will see that you now have two inputs. Top inputs are Source A (green is RGB and blue is alpha) and bottom inputs are Source B.
You can drag from the Media Pool into the nodes area to define your secondary clip. Just connect that to the Source B inputs of Particle Illusion and you can use the Particle Masking parameters as you would in any other host.
Hope that helps.
Thanks)
trakcking layer "LAYER1 " terminated prematurely one or more layers werenot taracked properly
Hello, I get this error, I don't understand why it doesn't let me go any further.
It means your tracking is failing. It could be many things, but often it could just be that one shape is cutting out another. Layers that are stacked above will cut out the layers below.
If you can post a screenshot of what it looks like on the forums, it would be easier to help : forum.borisfx.com/
Can i Buy a License with everything but not 2023. Just 2020? im trying to buy boris 2020 and i cant find it.,
Any current license will work on a legacy installer (like Continuum 2020, but you may encounter issues with supported host applications particularly the OS. Best to try a monthly subscription first to make sure it works.
Is this available as OFX for Flame? 🙏
There is an OFX version, but it's not officially supported/tested for Flame. You are always welcome to give it a try and give us feedback! The installation docs for OFX are here: borisfx.com/support/documentation/particleillusion-for-ofx-compatible-products/
@@BorisFXco I will be happy to do just that!
Ahhh, no Linux? :(
Continuum is not available for Linux. Boris FX Sapphire is, but no Particle Illusion there.
i want to know how can i crrate the plane emmiter
Click on the Emitter, then in Properties change the shape to Plane. If you want to start from nothing do a search in the presets for "basic" and choose the Basic Emitter.
@@BorisFXco thanku! appreciate it
man, this is frustration, i added particle illusion and I do not have any emitter like yours,. I'm literally stuck at the first min.
Are you in the plugin version or Standalone? If you installed 2023.5 you should have the new emitter library installed too. If you are working in the free standalone version, that usually lags a few months behind the paid version. If you're seeing only a few emitter libraries, did you run the other installer called "Particle Illusion Particle Emitters"? borisfx.com/downloads/?product=particle%20illusion
Finally, if none of this helps, please contact Support and they will be happy to help : support.borisfx.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
Can I make a paper money for the particles?
Yes, you can import custom images for your particles!
@@BorisFXco
And I can make it move like paper?
Remember that Particle Illusion particles are only 2D sprites, even though they are emitted in 3D. 3D paper money falling down would be a stretch. Unless you pre-rendered the money sprite and used Particle Illusion to make thousands of them.
@@BorisFXco 2D sprites are good enough for my purpose. Thanks.
is it possible to create this type rain effect with bcc particular illusion , if yes can you make this tutorial, because i tried many tikes but particular illusion with 3d camera track not work well
example video:-
czcams.com/video/Ieq1t0ANXa0/video.html
This specific method in Particular (triggering another emitter from a particle hitting a surface) is not currently in PI. There are some rain presets in there for you to explore, though. Thanks for the feedback, though. We are always looking for ways to make PI better.
