I think that until we the public have accurate information about Sterns’ and Jennifer’s relationship and their actions leading up to Maddy’s death - we have to trust the D A to evaluate the criminal liability of each adult. We can rail against the adults until we’re blue in our faces but the punishments are not up to us.

During one of Stephan's interviews he mentions Jenn finding explicit pics on the phone of Maddie. Stephen said Maddie took them, but was not punished for it.
Jenn knew, but doubted her because Maddie is "autistic/adhd" probably blaming Maddie because of this S trauma that was presenting itself as Autism/ADHD.
BTW I'm just saying how the mother knew for sure something was going on and how Law for sure can use this against her.

When my father passed away, I was 12. I thank God every day that my mom wasn’t a narcissist or an idiot. There is no way in hell she would have let a man move in to her house with 3 girls under the age of 13 and then think it was okay for said man to sleep in the bed with us. That just defies logic to me. This woman is either mentally unstable or willfully ignorant. The description of the photo they showed her makes me physically ill. That poor, defenseless little girl. I hope the inmates have fun with him, multiple times a day, every single day for the rest of his miserable life.

Right??? If my daughter ever wanted a sleepover, it was at our house (I was a single mother) so I know she’s safe. I protected her strongly. You can’t trust anyone when your kids are little. That’s just the way it is and I didn’t want to take my chances. If she went to a birthday party, I always picked her up after and kept in touch with her during the party. Maybe I was overly protective, but she grew up to be an awesome woman who is so close to me. She never rebelled or anything, always knew why I was the way I was. Sounds like you’re the same way. How any mother could be so stupid is beyond me. This woman had to know something. Maybe she didn’t like to have sex or something and let him use her daughter. She’s disgusting. She should be in jail.

No, our justice system should be taking care of them & relieving the burden of tax payers. Maddie will never see another day. Sterns, however, will get lawyers, 3 meals a day, water, phone calls, shelter, showers, clothing, mental, medical, religious care, entertainment, & visitors. How is this a sane approach to violent murderers. So, some expert can study them. No, just no, the judicial system is broken 💔. Maddie will never have justice unless it is delivered via prisoner. It’s a tale as old as time- a mom not protecting her daughter from the monsters she brings into the house. I pray they make an example of her.
It's also common for daughters to tell their mothers what's been happening, and the mothers accuse their daughters of lying, and defend the monsters. Even after the monters have been convicted and put in prison for molestinig their daughters, they blame their daughter for causing the monster to be put in prison. I wonder if something like that happened in this case. Maybe Maddie finally told Jen what Stephan had been doing, and Jen accused her of lying and defended Stephan, refusing to accept the truth about what she, herself, had allowed to happen. The way Jen was covering for Stephan, and lying for him, makes me think she knew about the murder, and maybe even participated in it.
The old stepmom was part of the fairytales where dad went along with the wicked stepmom. Mom was usually dead. Now we have the new stepdad stories where mom goes along with him. Dad took off. Kids suffer in both stories.

When I was like 13 I would visit my biological dad every other weekend and he had a studio apartment and we slept in the same bed, nothing weird or creepy at all but when I casually mentioned it to my mom she flipped out and after that I slept on the couch. I know my dad meant no harm but good on my mom for being mama bear.
My nieces & nephews always slept with me until the boys got to an age it was inappropriate but NEVER did I allow my nieces to share a bed with my husband & I even though I trusted him he didnot feel comfortable, it is NOT ok to ever allow minor kids to sleep with any man except a dad whilst very young. My daughter slept in my bed (mom) often well after 13. But I honestly dont think it was ever when her Dad was in the bed past the age of maybe 10. Not that we made it a weird rule, it's just one of those things that families naturally grow out of. Like kids leaving bathroom doors open. And that's her dad. The man I had known her whole life plus 5 years. So NO! I don't think its natural to let your daughter sleep in the same bed w your "on-and-off boyfriend" and pretend it's fatherly. These mothers need to be charged w neglect or endangerment at the very least! The only defense should be Mom being the one to report the offender. My kids will come sleep in my bed when they are sick. The only time I can remember when my kids slept in the bed with their father was when I was hospitalized and dying. My 15 y/o daughter was extremely scared and my 6y/o son was very scared too. They all slept in the bed until the Dr told them I would make it.

I was a single mother, life was hard and despite those hardships my child always came first and he was NEVER left alone in a non family member's company, and even when he was with family, I had to know where they were, what they were doing that day. When he went on his first holiday without me with family, you better believe I had three calls a day - morning, mid afternoon, bed time and he was schooled on appropriate behaviour towards him. He's now 40. Absolutely no one held a higher place or role in my life than my child. To know there are parents that don't provide a safe, loving home for their child/ren, sickens me to the core. And anyone that preys on a child in any form should have a permanent removal from society imo.
The mom seemed very inconveniences by her daughter. She didn't go to her 13th birthday party, she would get tired so her sicko boyfriend and her daughter would have to sleep in another room so the mom could get a good night's sleep.!!! I have trouble listening to this...its horrific

Our daughter is 22 engaged to be married in a few months so still lives at home is a RN and her dad or I still makes sure she’s safe going to her car at 6 am! Then....when they get to McDonalds, he asks her, "Do you still want it?" and Maddie says, "No," she doesn't want McDonalds anymore. Wasn't the whole point of getting up early and rushing to get ready because they wanted to have plenty of time to stop at McDonalds? And then all of the sudden he has a danish in the car, and she wants that instead. Why would he even bring a danish if they were planning to stop at McDonalds? He really is making this up as he goes along. It's so obvious.

Maybe he went into her room early that morning to wake her up, and asked her, "Do you still want McDonalds?" .....as that had been his usual way of manipulating her into letting him do "things" to her....."If you let me do this, I'll take you to McDonalds, and we won't tell your mom." He discovers she's not falling for it anymore when his usual maipulative tactics no longer work, and when Maddy tells him, "No, I don't want McDonalds! Get away from me!!" There is no telling what happened after that....Did Maddy start yelling and wake Jen up? Was Jen already awake? Did Jen sleep through all of it? Did a fight break-out between Jen and Maddy, with Jen defending Stephan and accusing Maddy of lying? Was Maddy murdered in the apartment? Or taken someplace else and killed? Is there evidence of a murder in the apartment? So many questions.....

I think a new precedent should be set with this case. Jennifer put her beautiful daughter right into that monsters hands. So many innocent children are harmed and mrdrd by their parent’s partners. It’s time they too, are punished by law. Maybe that will make parents more aware of who they have around their babies!

Jenn Soto should be charged!👩⚖️ She failed to protect her daughter. She allowed her daughter to sleep with Stephen, when she should have been the one to watch and comfort her daughter. Leaving that creep with Madeline was the most irresponsible thing a mom could ever do! After all the evidence of abuse, not once but many times, she definitely knew and ignored the signs!! 😡
I understand that a single mother would want to have a father figure in the life of her daughter because Madeline’s bio father was barely around. However, I don’t think stupidity is an excuse to avoid consequences. Single moms have to smarten up about the people they let in to their lives. It’s been known that predators exist.

I thought in the State of Florida if you were just present during the commission of any crime and/or did nothing to stop it, you are also guilty? 1) letting your child sleep with your boyfriend 2) lying to police/public and help covering it up.

When my daughter was in middle school. She had two sisters as her friends. Their mother lived with her boyfriend. He was sleeping with the mother AND BOTH OF her daughters. She committed Suicide and the oldest daughter married mom's boyfriend right after the mom died. It's more common than we would like to think. IT'S PITIFUL!¡! Had I known sooner I COULD HAVE STOPPED IT..
