Due to high stress and work in a fast food job(not blaming it on the job but the job created a pathway ) i have gained a significant amount of wait i had always stayed around 144-155 depending on the season... i currently way 215, Right now my goal is to weigh down to the 170s where i last felt confident in my own body and will be confident hitting a gym. Im trying to monitor my calories each day but it gets hard with working in the heat and my appetite is strong after 3 hours of eating
What can be done to get insurance to recognize thisis a DISEASE and needs to be treated medically and those treatments need to be covered by insurance?
What are the newer non-invasive weight loss procedures that have actually be proven to work in obese individuals? Most of the procedures i know of are meant for people trying to lose that last bit of weight.
The endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty (ESG) is the most proven. FDA approved for adults with obesity. It’s still not widely available and is only provided by expert centers. (Disclaimer: I specialize in ESG)
It seems like the research shows that it's very hard. Almost impossible to permanently use weight. I won't be using the drugs because my understanding is if you get off them You gain the weight back. I just need to lose 10 lb to manage my blood pressure
The scale can’t always reflect the complex changes that occur when losing weight, and it can lead to over emphasis on weight numbers. This can lead to frustration. Periodic weigh-ins are very important. But if you are adhering to a weight loss strategy it’s best to give your body, and the scale, some time
I feel taking medication for weight loss is me giving up. 😢 thank you for this message
Definitely not giving up. These are treatments for a health condition. We should embrace all treatment options.

Love the song choice! One of my favorite songs!
I get super affected by the scale..no longer using weekly..now just monthly.

You have the wrong insurance. I got my bypass almost 3 years ago. Insurance: Blue Cross/Blue Shield
My weight comes almost overnight : some stress + 4 weeks = extra 10 kg. But same weight comes off months if not years
Stop the scale, keep eating less and waking daily. Be patient with yourself, stay consistent.

What would you consider the minimum weight, bmi and/or body fat % for a middle aged man to consider bariatric surgery?

Why did you call scale evil,? 😮 I feel that what we can't measure, we can't change.
