Good luck with Comps Kaelyn! I would also suggest getting book reviews along with what your professor said. One of my professors created a "How to Gut" guide for her students as we were reading in her class and it helped tremendously during my exams!
I use Endnote and Word--the primary benefit is citation management and formatting in reports or papers, but I've also started using groups to organize large reference libraries and find that very helpful. That could be done in any database format, of course. Endnote can also group automatically by search terms which is handy. But if I didn't have the integration between Endnote and Word, it would definitely not be as helpful. (Also I don't have to pay for the software myself, so that is a factor.)

I'm asking because I'm working on a proposal about why foreign language courses should be required at all college levels and how these courses can be implemented into students' curricula. I have a whole section where I discuss what programs in language education should be required, and one of them is history majors since it can broaden the kinds of sources students can use. I'd love to have your perspective on this!

Sorry if its a stupid quesiton, in my country we do not have history studies. What kind of job would you have studying history? I love history and would have loved to study that if I had the option.
I will make a video on this but many get a PhD with the hope of working in academia or academia-adjacent positions. Others end up working for research foundations or government agencies. Others end up working in tech or other consulting roles. There are many options
