I have a Ford Flex. I purchased a Mechman 370 amp. I haven't installed it yet. After hearing your statement about the Edge, I am fearful now. I think the Flex and Edge share the same system. I wish I had seen this video before I purchased.
Hey Jerry you should do a video over the use of external regulators and if they work with any vehicle with ho alternator. I'm trying to figure this out better love yalls videos regardless.
a guy in our local bass group is having problems with their pwm voltage knob. for a pcm controlled GM They never respond to him and when my cousin tried contacting them about what it since he installed it and they wanted him to provide order number address name ect. there is literally maybe 3-5 people in my town with brand x alts since its small town idaho. its just weird they wouldn't help troubleshoot their product even though the person who was asking has ordered a alt and volt control knob (not the one were having issues with) before so they know hes a customer and not some random person.
Facts man Brand X responds quick but you just don't get the information you need unless you know exactly what to ask for and hopefully they understand. They are getting better. I love mechman alternators. My favorite.
I have a 2012 chevy cruze 1.4 and no well known brands carry an alternator for my vehicle. I've read on forums that the cruze has some sort of smart charge system or alternator, I don't really understand all that... I just really need help figuring out what is going to actually work for my car
New to the game here. just recently purchased the skar Dual 12s 5,000 watt subwoofer package. With the Rp -2000.1D amp that come with it. I have 2010 Jeep Commander limited with hemi Runnin a 150 amp stock alternator. Just wanna kno what would be a good high out put alternator before I install or if I would need a extra battery for the subs alone. I don’t want any problems with draining or dimming lights etc. if anyone have any good advice greatly appreciated.
Jerry can I get your opinion. I’m going with 3 x15s d4s . I have 2 on a smart 5. Can I get another smart 5 and wire all three up easily. Or should I get a bigger amp and go .67…. Also my business wants to sponsor your channel if you can message me to tell me how to go about it
No... They are built for specific vehicles. Unless you build a bracket that will make it fit in your vehicle. The way the casingis manufactured is to fit in the stock location in a vehicle... If you can fabricate a mount for it would work. Oh, and there are also wires and sensors that need to be connected as well as fabricating a mount... You'd be better off getting something for your specific vehicle. But there are so many companies that make high output alts. Iraggi, Mechman, Brand X, US Alternators... I'd recommend calling the company and asking, then you'd know without a doubt it'll fit. And some companies have refurbished/remanufactured alts, or open box, or scratch and dent that could be discounted. I hope that helps
@@CrystalClearSQL the problem I'm having is that i don't have a car that is known internationally, so i can't find a high output alternator for it, even from the big brands that make alot of different models
Wish I wulda thot about all this B4 hand myself...I always thot bigger better, so I grabd sumthn I figrd wuld B decent...gotta 300a from JS...does good, but wish I wulda put more thot n 2 it...just recently started watchn ur vids daily...keep em kumn!!

Traded my 11 month old brand x that wouldn't charge over 13.7 in for an irragi. And I'm a hell of alot happier then I was with the brand x.

@@shakinbottles I ran a 6k crescendo along with Rockford 500x4 for doors I always stayed near 14volts at full tilt maybe 13.5
Of course that with all electrical a 0gauge and 2 runs of 0 to amp

I got a 240 JS Alternator. I almost wished I got the 300, but with this information it is hard to tell.
