So happy to see that 26" wheels are not dead!
My woodshop teacher was sponsored by maxxis when 26’ was really popular and he will give u free tires if you ask
@@LukeSturges asking 🥵
In freeride they are alive. On xc enduro and dh, nope.
Alive in free ride only for riders 5’6” and shorter, lol.
@@paranoidandroid4270 this entire video disproves your statement
Respect to Kyle Strait for knowing his product and setup choices so well..
Edit: also Zink!
In fact I think it is much more exciting the guys who don't know "every angle ou spoke spec" about their bikes... They just ride and shred! I don't know but IMO guys who are psyched about their bikes specs (35 or 40mm stem 😒) usually don't get riding skills to match his worries about these little details.
So I prefer these rad guys who give a f*** to little specifications
@@GaedeRafael you can be a great rider as either type of person. There is nothing wrong with loving tech as long as you actually ride said tech.
Kyle and Cam were so knowledgeable about their bikes, it was really fun to hear them, spill the details -Christina
These guys are so mellow about their set ups and parts. I realized that I over think my set-up and tech after watching this. Still running tubes is interesting too.
Yeah I never understood how an average joe can distinctly tell 1 click of suspension more or less…
Tubes for life
Tubes are good for jumping where they have high pressure. It’s when you run low pressure that pinch flats happen. Otherwise tubes are fine but when you need every bit of traction losing a few psi makes a big difference
Tubes for these higher pressures and jumps and drops as the main use case actually makes sense to me. I prefer tubeless for enduro and the flat protection.
Yeah I’ve never understood why mountain bikers care so much about the minuscule things. Especially considering the fact that most of them are pretty average skill.
For obvious reasons, I am stoked to see a single crown fork be put to good use at Rampage.
It’s not the first single crown fork at Rampage!!
Semenuk has one on this year. Custom 190mm ZEB.
Bars and Tailwhips on a dh bike, awesome times. 🙌🏻🐒✨💨
@@Mighty_Marty retail option. Anyone can get a 190 27.5 zeb
@@killerb9747 I know, which is why I said "put to good use"
It was Year 2010 when Kurt Sorge rode a Giant Faith 0 with a single crown Rockshox Totem at Rampage.
Was expecting to see Semenuk's rig as he is not using a triple crown fork for rampage. Think it was slopetyle inspired and we might see bar spin and tail whip on rampage.
It’s coming!
That already happened waay long ago! Paul Bas, Rheeder, Aggy to name a few.
@@pipecfh that i don't know. I only knew bout rampage on 2015. I live in the Philippines. I don't know much bout bike parts waaay back
Triple clamp / dual crown*
@@nickthaskater my bad. I stand corrected
Oddly satisfying to call out Gwin for winning more races on the bike before he changed it.
Damn that GT looks sick as hell.
The Mini Mullet is the set up of choice 🤙🥳
Love the sticker on zinks bike. Lunn was one of my favorite riders to watch.
That GT fury is absolutely beautiful
Smaller frames, 26" wheels and tubes. It's almost like a lot people would be happy with all these. You've got to love the bike industry telling what to ride rather than you riding what you want.
Ethan: “don’t do a lot of pedaling, probably gonna get a lot of hate for that”
Me: you get all the LOVE 💪🏻😇
YT for the win!!!
I wish I had one gear... or none on my bike.. I hate pedaling. But all my trails you have to huff it to the top to enjoy the downhill.
Small bikes, 26 inch wheels, tubes, old codes, these guys are oldschool cool and know what works for them, great video
“they are round and they roll”
most honest wheel review yet
I wish all these Legends a Epic and SAVE from top to bottom run!!
Keep it rolling and send it guys💨💨💨💨
Can't wait to see the guys sending it! 🤘 Fingers crossed for Ethan who runs our custom design!
how can you not love Cam, give an oldie but goodie yes!
Strait's "Rampage XX" nailed it!!!!
Love all these guys that get their setup dialed in and they just don't change it.
Great detail on the bikes! Thanks for sharing this.
That GT Fury paint job, badass!
16 rides, 5 bikes covered...solid work y'all
Good luck, Kyle! Love the Meaty Paws and I-beam Patriot seat - running both those on my rig, too.
Great video. Looking forward to seeing Cam Zinks new bike sponsor
ethans bike is the sickest paintjob ever. love it.
Oh man I love every one of these bikes! I'm a 27.5 rider so it's cool to see smaller wheels in these amazing bikes. And what an amazing scene for this bike check Great work on this video!
I love downhill bike. Nothing beats them when it comes to beauty and innovation ❤️
I love how all the pros mostly never use tubeless or inserts - agree 100% - If I roll any tubeless it's on my enduro and only on the front wheel - sturdy tube on the back not too weighty - tubolito are nice in the pack but they don't last as long as a good ole Continental tube after a ton of tests and races they're my go to. Love these rundowns
great to hear these guys ride what feels good to them rather than what the manufacturers/magazines are telling everyone to ride.
And after this direct into the full Rampage Movie! Nicely work Pinkbike i love this content and hope this year you also there to make a video like this.
I can see these kind of videos all day long!!!!!!!!!!
Cam Zink is just the best
R.I.P Jordie
The Tues looks amazing.
Bike manufacturers should listen to these guys more.. Simple strong bikes not too much tech.. Respect!
That last GT bike was the best!
Hi Christina! You are the inspiration to start mountain biking. Thank you!😁
Thanks so much Gretchen! -Christina
This was sick. Some badass bikes.
First guy was... Underwhelming. Everyone else was absolutely amazing! Chill, yet informative and easy to jive with. Zink, McCaul, and Strait are legends and I wish them the best for this year!! Christina, you are so awesome. Such a blast of fresh air and sharpness!! Keep bringing us the goods!!
first guy was awsome tf u on about
Bruh you didn’t know about Jaxson Riddle
Awesome content, thanks!
Tyler's bike is so sick
Literally bought Kyle straights grips yesterday and they so sick
That YT is aesthetically stunning.
good questions, realy interesting
Best video... thank you so much!
Informative...good stuff!
Like the GT...very nice design!!!
Kyle Strait running old school Codes. Cool to see!
Beautiful bikes! Noticed a lot of guys running flow rims.
Intresting choices 🥸👍
Refreshing!!
You can instantly see the difference when the rider isn't riding a sponsored bike. Zink telling it like it is !
That was awesomeness thank you
YT never listens to the consumer and never to their sponsored riders. I would not expect anything less from them!
Interesting video recension. i like so much the Transition Spire and Patrol in Shimano XT in aluminum.. I don't like Carbon material..
But my favorite are GT and Cannondale.. (Possible) for next year I buy one Aluminum Transition, but the GT Fury, are very interesting..
Legends.
ok, my 26 inch trek session is cool again🥳
Hey, it was never uncool. 👊💥😁
haha😁
that gt is so beatiful
26" in the rear is a proper mullet bike!
That GT has some furious wh40k iron warrior vibes in the paint scheme.
These guys actually actually understand what works right for them instead of the industry telling them what the latest and greatest is
So sick how he has a 26!
Who is this 'Max Tokens' they are all taking about? 🤔
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lovely
damn, was really interested to see semenuk´s bike.
Weird seeing Tyler McCaul. I remember back in 2007, went to a Whistler Camp and had a bunch of pro riders teaching us for 2 weeks. Was crazy... iirc Kyle Strait and Zink were instructors too.
I remember seeing adverts for those camps years ago. I bet a lot of kids crash pretty bad at those camps - would be tempting to push yourself a lot in that kind of environment
Fury and Furious the best :D
ZINK ROCKIN' THE CANFIELD CRANKS!!!
Funny they don't even mention Canfield, got people googling "kids mtb cranks"...
I guess 26" tires and tubes aren't dead yet! Not that I use them, lol.
It's the companies that recycle the trends(and they are only trends) not the pro riders. This video proves that.
You guys should have done a bike check on Brandon Semenuk’s slope inspired super enduro he’s running
Petition to always mention rider height and frame size in all bike checks on all platforms from now on and forever.
Nice
Good video.....
Preordered my YT. Now i only have to wait 2 years until it arrives.
Keep in mind: Rubber is super important ;)
Cam reminds me of everyone else in Reno.
Kyle Strait running avid codes LOL
Muito top
I might have missed it, but what size wheels does cam zink run?
That Atlas looked like a Stan's font.😳
MAY HE REST IN PEACE🙏🏼❤❤❤🕊
Ethan a boss lol
Kyle Strait with the old sram code brake levers??
Awesome video! Goes to show that your average Joe rider is too fussed about the latest and greatest. Just ride and have fun. Bring it back to basics.
yeah man the pros don't seem to care too much as long as the bike shreds without breaking :)
Does Tyler McCaul play 40k? It looks like he's running an Iron Warriors Fury
nice silver chain tshirt 🔗🔗🔗
someone know please the brand of the desert hat Tyler McCaul's wearing?
nice shirt
RIP to your old man, mate! I am starting to feel like a dinosaur now…I was born in 82
One thing about Kyle's bikes. He's running the old version of code brakes since the new versione camed out. Some one can ask him why? I mean.. everybody knows it, but I wanna hear from him haha
They are round and they roll
26r!
Wish bender did this with his apocalypse.
She’s a great interviewer she should do all the bike check vids
Thank you! Reality is they all lasted 10-15 minutes of chatting about everything!!! But that would make the video too long hahaha -Christina
Running
Ramage riders be like... So I choose these super heavy downhill forks and filled them with tokens, heavy casing DH tyres and Ti bolts to save weight 😂😂😂
They need the suspension and gnarly tires for what they do but they do not need steel bolts so why not save weight where they can.
I don’t seriously think it was a rider choice to save 5g by using Ti bolts, as far as I know he had his bike built for him so it’s probably just to add a bit of bling factor. Not much point saving a few grams when the bike weighs 40 pounds really is there.
2011 code levers on straits bike???
Are most of them running air cans instead of coil in the rear for weight reduction?
I think it's more about quick adjustments. These features are bigger than their usual hits so it's nice to fine tune the suspension over the week -Christina
What bar is on Kyle Strait's bike? I like the design?
I think it’s his signature handlebars
@@frostbitepokin9520 went and looked for them and yep. Truvativ Descendant
I would have liked to see semenuks and sorges bikes
