Your idea seemed like a good idea: QSC CP8 more form fitting + flap for Everse 8 handle access so I ordered one. Thanks.
I bought a bag from Tuki covers. I paid a little more to have a zippered bottom added. The bag fits great like a glove on the speaker and it's very well padded with handle access on top. The only con is there's no pocket but they would probably add on for a small fee.
I bought a beer cooler off of Amazon for my Everse 8 which also fits my Yamaha Stagepas 200..however, one of the plastic clips broke after 1 month of use so now I have to hold the bag instead of carry it on my shoulder. Maelstrom Soft Cooler Bag,Collapsible Soft Sided Cooler,30/60/75 Cans Beach Cooler,Ice Chest,Large Leakproof Camping Cooler,Portable Travel Cooler for Grocery Shopping,Camping,Kayaking,Road Trips
I guess it’s best to not use a beer cooler then!
Great to know of this better option - thanks! And for an even sleeker, albeit less protective (?) option, Thomann offers a slip cover with an opening for the grip. They also offer a more padded „Pro“ bag which can even remain on the speaker during use, as well as a tote bag with no opening for the grip up top.
Thanks I took a look and the price is nice but I have a feeling I will still prefer the QSC bag.
@@aaronshortmusic Your QSC has certainly got better padding and more features, but it also costs about 4 times the price of the simple slip cover. I just ordered an Everse 8 and a slip cover as the lightest, sleekest way to keep the speaker from getting scuffed in transit without adding extra weight or protruding packets/bulk. I prefer to carry as little as possible in one hand (my poor back!) and keep all my cables, mic, etc. in a big backpack. Also, the slip cover has the added advantage of being open at the bottom, meaning that setting it down on damp ground will only soil the feet of the unit, but not get the bag/cover wet or dirty. Sure, a bag offers better protection, but I think a lot of folks will find a cover sufficient, and certainly less costly. But we‘ll see when the cover arrives if I actually like it all that much. ;-)
@@scottbecker3485 I see the slip cover is $20 (how much is the shipping?) but I don’t think it’s going to do much. I hope I’m wrong! I also like having the cover all over the speaker including the bottom so that it keeps everything as protected as possible. The Everse finish isn’t super durable.
@@aaronshortmusic Yeah, the cover is purely going to be for scratch prevention. When not busking (and that I only do in good weather), I always take my stuff to the venue by car, so having the open bottom is no dealbreaker. At least the cover (which costs €23 here in Germany, with zero shipping when purchased along with other items) will keep the unit safe while being carried (or carted) from the car to the venue and back. By the way, thanks for keying us all into the easily scratched finish of the Everse! Caught that info on two videos of yours, and it truly troubled me, but in the end the speaker has far too many virtues to rule out due to that, just as you pointed out. Also want to emphasize how valuable your videos on the Everse 8 are for the community. Great stuff, and much needed because most of the reviewers out there are only showing it off for DJ use, thus ignoring the special needs of live (acoustic) performers.
@@scottbecker3485 Thanks. I’m glad that Thomann have options. I am in the USA so it would cost extra for shipping. Gator also have a bag that will fit but it’s the same price as the QSC.
This video is pure gold 😊😊. So I'm returning my Bose S1 Pro Plus today to Guitar Center and getting the Everse 8 from Amazon 1 day shipping. So I have the $160 bag from Bose for the S1 Pro Plus. It's definitely overpriced BUT I'll admit it's really nice as it's also a backpack so I really like it. I'd like to keep it and I'm hoping it will fit the Everse 8. I have a EV ZXA1 that I tried in the case and the speaker was a few inches too tall.
I love the S1 Pro Plus bag but I don’t think the Everse 8 will fit into it…
@aaronshortmusic Yeah I'm kinda thinking you're going to be right but I'll definitely keep ya posted. And if it doesn't fit, I'll just send it back to Sweetwater.
@@UrbanGuitarLegend Why didn’t you like the Bose?
@aaronshortmusic Uh yeah so I actually made a video about that on my cell phone before I took it back. But basically what it comes down to is that the Bose lacks headroom. So now I see what all the DJs have been saying on CZcams. Even though I do busking and am not a DJ, I still need that headroom. Because I play guitar 🎸 with backing tracks that are hip hop and heavily drum 🥁 based the Bose S1 Pro just does not cut it. It starts to break down in the low-end frequencies when you reach a certain sound pressure level.
@@UrbanGuitarLegend Yes it’s 150w and the EV is supposedly 400w so that makes sense.
Hi Aaron I am about to pull the trigger on a everse 8.How would you rate the sound quality for a solo accoustic musician when you use it compared to a bose S1 pro.
You really can’t compare them. They are both good in different ways. Choose based on the kind of sound (and features) that you are looking for.
How are you liking the Everse 8 so far Aaron? Any cons so far? I ordered a bag with shoulder straps from China and am gonna go test the Everse 8 at the local store later this week.
Very good. Still impressed!
I'm curios to the bag that you ordered from China with the shoulder straps. What is the link to that bag?
@@shiftpraise It's slightly too big leading to a non-ideal distribution of weight. I ordered one that's slightly smaller, if it works well I'll update everyone :)
What about the Everse 8 full review? Is that coming?
Yes I have a show with it next Saturday so I’ll do it after that.
We'll, I pulled the trigger and my Everse arrived late this afternoon. I haven't tried it out yet as the manual recommended a 24 hour charge first. I'll hold off on a bag until I decide if it will work for me but thanks for this rundown of options. By the way, I know you prefer to poke mount this speaker but you didn't mention that gear as something you schlep on the train. Do you rely on there being a stand at the venue or perhaps set it on a chair?
Hi Paul. I missed the part about charging it for 24 hours. Good call! I can’t justify carrying a speaker pole so I use the highest table possible. I would always use a pole if I could.
@@aaronshortmusic The suggestion to charge for 24 hours before first use is in the opening paragraph of the manual's Operation section. The unit appeared to have a 50% charge out of the box. I wonder if they suggest this merely to make sure a new user gets the full battery life experience right off the bat. Regardless, letting it sit is giving me time to actually read the manual!
@@PaulAshley I did charge mine but I also used it. I am sure its a precaution but always best to follow the manual!
Ok, what's the verdict on this specific unit? I'm seriously considering just pulling the trigger like you did, but I'm hoping for another artist to give me the final say on whether I should go ahead and buy it. $750 US is a lot of money for me so I really need to make sure this is an appropriate purchase for my needs.
@@ryanslings6234 it depends on what your needs are…
Why wouldn’t you use a rolling bag like aircraft cabin luggage or a rolling Pelican case in which you could put the speaker, microphones, pedals, cables microphone stand etc? That way your traveling with two items the guitar and the rolling case.
I’m not a fan of rolling cases. The sidewalks here are uneven and the subway has stairs. I find it easier to carry.
Need a convertible bag that no need to take out when play live..
The bottom of the speaker has a padded divider and I use the room for cables. The base padding is the divider.
Yes I did show a picture. I like how it’s stored at the bottom!
@@aaronshortmusic it’s removable and come that way to ship. If you set it up along the Velcro it will keep your speaker from moving around. I travel a lot with mine and it’s very well designed and keeps everything neat. I personally think it’s a better case/bag than the QSC CP8 or K8 bag. The strap works fine if you adjust it you can walk blocks with no problem.
@@aaronshortmusic it’s not meant to be stored at the bottom it’s meant to be used as a protective shield attach it along the Velcro.
@@v2or Yea but if you’re not using it or storing it you can keep it at the bottom. Cool design.
@@v2or I like to have the most compact bag possible as keep the cables in my other cable bag. I have too many.
2:02... I ordered TWO of these from Amazon and neither one had the "divider included"!
It’s hidden in the bottom. Check there.
@@aaronshortmusicBoOM! I swiped it earlier and felt nothing. You're right. Thanx!
@@gaffle-411 That got me too. They really should make it more obvious!
@@aaronshortmusic yes, and because it’s so obscure and hard to locate, it cost them the price of sending me a replacement one and my return shipping.
@@gaffle-411 Feel free to let them know it’s too hard to find and that I helped you out. Let us know how you like the bag in general.
I have the Fishman Loudbox… tried it once?
Yes the Loudbox is good but I prefer the PA style speakers these days.
@@aaronshortmusic the one you have or what the gig place has set up already?
@@jasper_north Both.
The big question: does it fit in the QSC bag with the top shelf attached...?
I am guessing it won’t but I haven’t tried the shelf yet.
everything is cool don't pick up carts)
