Most of the time, Dan makes a rap better than the actual game it's based upon.

It's mainly that it is far from how the original games were, the old one's were a lot more sprawling and you had several ways to complete each mission, the AI were smart and hunted you down when they had spotted you and you were discouraged to engage in combat since you're a thief, not an assassin or something like that. I can recommend you checking out "the dark mod". It's basically the true successor of the thief franchise.
Most people just prefer Dishonored to the remake of Thief. The originals were amazing, I can't say I was surprised when I played it because it was made by the same studio that did the remake of the Tomb Raider games. The first one had a stupid story line and easy to read environment which didn't carry over from the originals.
Yeah, too bad the actual game is boring as hell.
From what I've seen people either love this game or hate it, barely seen any "yeah it's alright"s. And the comparison to Dishonored is fair enough but people should know Thief was first

Judging by the minimal amount of dislikes (the usual trolls, no doubt), by and large we liked the video, yes? Good. So let's not blow a fuse.
Considering this is kinda advertisement for the game, and most likely they paid Dan a bit to make this, why shouldn't people be allowed to bash the game if they choose to?

I for one like this game, its fun, its replayable and it reminds me of Dishonored.
It's a decent standalone game, but people dislike it because it isn't nearly as good as the other games in the Thief series. Also, it was made by the same team as Dishonored iirc, so... :P

it's a really bad game. Mechanics wise. If you get caught you can hide so easily because the guard AI is extremely bad. Skyrim's sneak is probably better than this game where sneaking is the whole purpose of the game. Great storyline, graphics, bad mechanics.

Dicksmack jones It's a game that revolves around sneaking. You can hide from the guards so easily on master difficulty that it doesn't even matter if you sneak or not. If sneak wasn't a big part of the game like skyrim alright then, but this game is all about sneaking..

I had a terrible time with this game, I played like 5 hours and then my game glitched out and I couldn't progress anymore so I said fuck off and never played it again.
That may have been solved if you'd had played it on PS4. I finished the game and got 85% of the trophies. (YES! finally found all the loot in Moira asylum!)

For all those people saying thief copied dishonored...this game is the 4th in the series, the 1st thief called Thief: The Dark Project came out in 1998. I highly doubt if dishonored copied thief since thief is solely based on stealth while in dishonored, you choose how to complete your objectives, stealth is just an option to get the mission done. In any case there is NO WAY thief copied dishonored.

Thief was a cool game not nearly dishonored level but if the climbing was more fluent and the story made more sense it would be better.
+Gabriel Johnson If you liked Dishonored go back a ways and play Thief 1 and Thief 2. Dishonored was made by the remains of the studio from THOSE games after they closed.
The story makes perfect sense (though, there are a few intentional plot holes) but they are there so each player can decide for themselves what happened. (Weird to compere, but it's like ff8 lol) I had a little bit of problems with the climbing, but other than that, I'd say it's tied with Dishonored :)

Thief was the original game, dishonored was based heavily off of the first thief. This second game takes some elements dishonored adapted from their own game in the first place. It's still a fairly shitty game though, can't hold a candle to dishonored.
