    For me I made excellent progress getting my daughter to sleep next to me in her bed rather than rocked or given a bottle. But her naps are going through a shift with her refusing them, and it's had a knock on effect of making her too tired on the evening so she actually wants to be hugged a lot and soothed. Feels like a regression in a way!

    My daughter is 8 months today, and we successfully trained (sorry for the term!) her for nights atv5 months and she sleeps great independently in her crib at night. Daytime she did NOT take to the training. We tried for 6 weeks and it didn’t take, and we think it might be because she contact napped and sometimes nursed to sleep before. We want to try again but are worried it won’t work again

    Hi there, could this advise apply to a 3 week old? Or is it normal for them to be reliant on milk to get to sleep

      In our book we teach how to disassociate. At 3 weeks though she's still very small and likely very sleepy and falling back asleep with food.

    My 5 month old falls asleep after her bedtime routine but then she wakes up every 1-2 hours until I nurse her to sleep how do I cut her down to 1-2 feeds at night we have tried to put her back to sleep without feeding but she just screams for hours until I give in and nurse

      You think you have a night waking problem but you actually have a food association and falling asleep problem. You can’t learn something new for the first time in the middle of the night. That’s too hard for everyone! And it really is a 24 hour approach. I outline it step by step in my book which is more than a quick tip on CZcams really. I know it’s so annoying that I’m promoting the book but i wrote it because to be successful and really solve the issue it’s not a quick tip. It’s a methodological approach. Hope that helps.

    My son is 18 months old. He used to sleep on my breast. He doesn’t sleep if he doesn’t soothe my breast. Now i m stopping breastfeeding and I don’t know how he will sleep. I’m tired and frustrated

    • @HelpingBabiesSleep
      @HelpingBabiesSleep  Před 11 měsíci

      It can be so exhausting! He won't know how to sleep since you're taking his soothing away so you're essentially launching into "sleep teaching!" You'll want to offer something in it's place - patting, rocking, textures, lovie as a transition for him. I go over this step by step in the book on Amazon! www.amzn.com/B08WQ2J8MZ

    Hi, my 5 month old son has started to use my boob as a dummy to fall asleep. I try to give him a full feed 30-60 mins before nap/bedtime, however he will refuse to drink the rest of the bottle until we are in the bedroom. Then he will want my boob to actually fall asleep.
    I plan to use the Ferber sleeping method once he is able to sleep through the night/only waking up once for a feed.
    Is it better to stop nursing to sleep now and then use the sleep method later on, or wait until I plan to sleep train and cut nursing to sleep at the same time? Thank you

      @HelpingBabiesSleep  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Please go read my book as it will give you a step by step instruction on how to do this and you don’t have to lose night feeds when you do it. If you stop nursing now you are essentially putting him into sleep teaching as you’re taking away the known way of falling asleep. So what you’re suggesting is doing sleep teaching twice. You can be more efficient with your time and his tears if you read the book! It was on sale on prime for $5 the other day, not sure if that sale is still on. My daughter is 15 months old almost 16 since day one she co sleep with me. I did love to be next to her. As a new mom the mistake I did was not giving her bottle and put her in her crib. Now she never accepts bottle and she don’t even want to be in the crib. Since day one she sleep my breast now everything is getting worse. I am pregnant 16 weeks. I am just so tired she wake up every 1 and cry for breast there is no milk but she use me as a pacifier. My side feel fire because of sleeping one side every night. She takes 1 nap a day and she sleep every 5 to 6 hours after she being a wake. Last night she was awake but close her eyes breast in her mouth and didn’t let me sleep for 1hr and 30 mins I want to change this life habits. I want her and me to sleep peacefully she sleep 11 to 12 hours at night but waking up every time no rest sleep at all. I need help how can I change her habit to sleep by her self and learn how to self soothe I am just exhausted 🙁🙁😕😕

      For people who wake up every 2 hours for their baby to nurse back to sleep - who are tired, and emotionally drained. Who physically and emotionally need more sleep. Maybe this video isn't for you ?

      My 16 month old will be going to daycare in a few months and I really want him to know how to fall asleep on his own so he can nap at daycare. To each their own. If nursing to sleep is still working for you then that’s great.
