    It is such a pity that the sunscreen with the highest UVA rating has fragrance -.-“ i do not understand these makers of sunscreen, they put the best filters in their product but ruin it with fragrance at the end of the ingredients list.... it bugs me so much :D

    Hi Cyrille. Excellent video as always. Favourite is Shaka. Love the texture. Very eye friendly. Bioderma Family milk. Love this one. Stings my eyes so I wear on the body. Find it with a nice shine. Another high UVA is Galderma Daylong Extreme. Also 42 or something like this.

    Hi there! Love all you do as always. I have a request though, would you make a video about the importance of SPF for the lips? I rarely see youtubers that emphasized this topic. There are lots of SPF50+ lip balms from LRP, Bioderma, SVR, Uriage, Avene, and the Australian brand Ego SunSense. Thanks!

      I use my fav Neutrogena revitalizing lip balm (spf 20). It has a nice natural tint that makes your lips look naturally rosy. And it's super smooth on the lips, not sticky or thick. I've used so many spf balms that i don't remember any names. But I always go back to the Neutrogena.

    • @_qwerty5358
      @_qwerty5358 Před 4 lety +3

      Update: I do not recommend Bioderma Photerpes SPF50+ lip stick. It leaves a whitecast and makes my lips dry. It has a PPD of 24 though. I'd probably use it on my hands once my SVR stick arrives.
      I think one problem with sun sticks is that they do not contain HUMECTANTS. If you check their ingredients, they are full of emollients and occlusives but our lips need hydration too. 😤

    Thank you for another helpful video. I live in the desert in Southern California and even though we are in lockdown I try to get out for walking for a couple of hours a day. So, sunscreen is a must. I am curious why you prefer the siding spot over the isdin eryfotona actinica sunscreen spf 50. My dermatologist recommended that. At first the smell was too much, but after a couple of weeks and mighty shaking, the scent dissipated.

    For the weighing, I would recommend taring the scale with the sunscreen bottle /package, then putting some sunscreen on your hand. Then you weigh the bottle again and you know how much you have on your hand. I think it would be less messy and more practical. You could even do it directly on your face, that might be even easier for remembering how much you need ('three long strips on my nose and cheeks and one wiggle on my forehead' or whatever)

  • @gmc___

    Have you tried Banana Boat? I bought it when I was in Thailand. I don't remember the name, but it was in a white package with light green text and had something along the words 'watery' or 'gel' in it. It was super light yet very moisturizing for my dry skin without making it super oily in the hot sweaty weather. It had less than ten ingredients too! Such a simple formulation, yet so well done.

    Have you tried the Ultrasun Tinted Honey SPF50+? It has very good filters, and I do like the tint. It isn't really opaque, so that makes it quite natural looking. It's a bit dark, but does work when applied over the Purito Comfy SPF50+ for example.

    I have two questions for you, if you don't mind: what is your opinion of octocrylene (specifically regarding free radical production) and also, have you ever tried any ACM sunscreen? They have a very interesting sunscreen called Depiwhite M, which contains Uvinul A+, Tinosorb S, Uvinul T150 and titanium dioxide. Unfortunately they don't disclose the PPD, but the ingredients list looks very interesting nevertheless!

    I use quite a lot, because is so “thin” I dont know how much I should use. I rather use a little more, just in case!

    Yes mama! great video! Can someone pls explain why dermatologists like Dr. Dray and Dr. Bunting recommend zinc oxide/mineral sunscreens? Their UVA rating is not as good. What is more important? I'm confused :( Also Cyrille pls so a video on tinted sunscreens and some swatches...maybe include Colorscience Tinted sunscreen fluid and Elta MD???

    • @CyrilleLaurent
      @CyrilleLaurent  Před 4 lety +5

      Hello, for Dr. Dray it is probably because she leaves in the USA. In the USA you do not have much choice for UVA filters it is either Avobenzone or Zinc oxide. Certain skin types can react to Avobenzone... In the EU, Australie, Asia... they are plenty of different options.

If the formulas of the filters that sell in different countries change according to the filters allowed in different countries even if they are of the same brand and the same name? For example, is the anthelios they sell in the United States the same as they sell in Europe? Thank you very much and I hope you are healthy. Kisses from Chile 😚😚😚😚😚

      @@e.a.4926 I know you didn't ask me, but i think the current research is that combining avo & zinc is risky (or potentially). But I use the bioderma family milk too- on my body. The BIODERMA milk does not have a UVA protection that has every been disclosed. It has replaced a milk they had with this UVA protection and so in various website they replaced the page of the previous milk with this one and the UVA protection remained by mistake.

I've heard so many good things about it but it just doesn't work for me, I wear makeup and even though I only wear powder foundation it rolls up underneath, and don't get me started on wearing liquids on top that sunscreen, it made me look like if I'm peeling when in reality is the sunscreen that peels, I tried wear it on my neck, chest and hands where I don't wear makeup but the same happened, I started to wear LRP with salicylic acid, it feels a bit heavier but it looks decent underneath my makeup, any other recommendations for us oily skin makeup wearers fellows?
