The Versova-Virar sea link - a 43-km elevated road - will connect Versova, a western suburb of Mumbai, to the fast-growing, dense residential hub of Virar - Mumbai’s satellite town in the city’s larger urban agglomeration of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
The project involves not only the construction of a 43 km road over the sea about 1 km off the coast of Mumbai, but also the construction of approximately 58 km of suburban roads, including connector roads and junctions (earthwork and elevated) in addition to the main road, which comes 101 km in total.
The Versova-Virar sea link has an estimated budget of Rs 63,426 crore and thus would be the city’s costliest sea link.
Now, this Project has been extended till Palghar. Virar-Palghar Sea Link Main Bridge Length will be 21.8 km and Palghar Connector length will be around 7.3 km. Thus, total Project Length will be 29.1 km. Estimated Cost around 30,000 Crores and Estimated Deadline of this project will be about 2032.

MMRDA should have had the brains to construct an elevated expressway from mahim interchange to virar above WEH, with exit /entry ramps for every suburb.

Yes land is available! no it isn't free! Yes land acquisition is very difficult, time and money consuming process, especially when it comes to rural Maharashtra

And Maharashtra does not have a good track record of land acquisition, some non agriculture land for bullet train projects took so long to acquire on Maharashtra section delayed entire bullet train project while Gujarat section is on 90% pillar work completed.

Dekhe toh bandra worli sea link me toll ₹85 for 4.2 kms, matlab 85/4.2= 20.238, agar Banne ke baad toll fhir nariman point se virar tak ₹2000 for 101 km se jyaada hoga toll, and palghar ₹2500 😅😅
Compare it with 4hr ride in old road with fuel rates and time its nothing and saves money more even if you pay the amount you said...
@@VALAR_Morgulis. maybe time saving and fuel saving will be greater due to coastal road, I'm here explaining a hypothetical situation that cost of traveling in MMR will be drastically increase in future due to coastal road. Already there is some issue going on with MTHL toll prices as MTHL authorities are suggesting a ₹500 toll for 22.5 km, BMC is saying to lower the TOLL prices, let see in future what new things are build in MMR, curious and but this travelling cost will eat certain amount of our pocket.
