  • This SAMSUNG Brand Dryer with the Steam Option is a great dryer and was purchased at Lowe's. While at the store be sure to purchase the correct dryer cord and the installation kit. These don't come with the purchase and need to be bought separately. Buy some teflon tape as well.

    No need to pay someone to do this as it's super easy to do yourself. The first step is getting it unboxed, into your house and into place. You'll typically need two people or a dolly. If you are really fancy you can put in on a custom made wooden foundation to place it on. Once in place, open up the installation kit and pull out the hoses and components. Hook a stainless steel braided hose to the cold spigot after wrapping with teflon tape. I tightened down the connection using channel locks. From that hose I installed the 'Y' connector provided in the installation kit. From that 'Y' on the cold line, one side is going to go to your dryer and the other to your dryer. All connections made with teflon tape to keep from leaking. Now take the longer hose with the 90 degree elbow on it and hook it to your dryer. The elbow side is what connects to the dryer. From the "Y' connector on the cold line, hook a hose from the 'Y' to your washer for cold water to the washer.
    Now it's time to hook up the electrical portion. It's a good idea to take a picture or template of some sort with you of your dryer plug to the hardware store to make sure you buy the correct plug pattern unless you retained your old one and it's still serviceable.
    Things to buy or have on hand for installation:
    1. Dryer Cord
    2. Installation kit
    3. Channel Lock Pliars
    4. Teflon Tape
    5. Dryer Vent
    6. Hose Clamp for Dryer Vent

    So now that you have your water system all hooked up it's time for the electrical and vent which is really easy as well. Un-package your new dryer hose and hook up the three wires in the back of the dryer. You do this by unscrewing the sheet metal panel in the back. Hook the cord to the three terminals inside the panel and secure it. Be sure to install your safety clamp as a protective measure in case the dryer gets moved, it won't destructively pull the cord's electrical connections from the terminals resulting in a possible electrical fire. Now it's time for the vent. Fasten the dryer vent over the hard piped vent connection along with the hose clamp and fasten. Do the same with the connection as the dryer.

    can you put this teflon tape on there all I did on that was about a wrap and a half to two wraps okay if I was doing a standard installation I just I'd be hooking that up to my washer put some teflon tape on there let me cut this up to the cold
    okay this is going to go into here okay now this Y is so easy right boom but one of these are gonna go to your washer and this one here like this will go to your washer and that's gonna go so the trick here is just a teflon tape every connection teflon this there's this and also at the washer and dryer
    this side here is gonna hook down into the dryer deaf on tape there and the direction of rotation and I'd get this baby on there okay this is the one that's gonna go to your dryer or uh skin it's gonna go to your washer
    okay the trick here is to make sure you get the right plug so a hole hung this upside down installing the dryer you're gonna need a May dryer vent some hose clamps I'm gonna go ahead and hook a cord up through here see the idea is to hook it up through here and clamp it off probably doesn't pull out right that could be real bad cord up through here and up it up to all three of these the clamp on here so I can't pull out Kali's here you're gonna want to clamp that wire you got to run up through the hole clamp it on this side that it's gonna take two hands so I can't can't tape it right there so clamp it to that side and then screw it into those that's tight
    okay one I like this one of these on the dryer and one on the outlet
    tighten that up right that side there's gonna go around the dryer let this eat up the hose clamp just like that Forgetting standard house maintenance items can be costly. Avoid this by using my homeowner's and renter's quick reference:

    Question, starting from the spout, you connected a hose, on the other end of that hose you connected the Y fitting which redistributes both water to the dryer and washer? correct? to reiterate the Y fitting connects to 2 hoses with water that that connect to the dryer and the washer correct.

    • @DIYTechnician
      @DIYTechnician  Před 3 lety +4

      Good to hear it. Well if you are choosing not to go with steam option there is no need to run any water to the dryer so no “y” connection necessary and both hot and cold will be going to your washer. I think what you’re asking is if the male connection on the back of the dryer needs to be plugged. It does not. Hope this helps and good luck!!

    • @bobbby4343
      @bobbby4343 Před 2 lety +3

      The Teflon can actually do harm here. The treads are supposed to bottom out so the rubber washer can make the seal. If the tape hinders this and the washer isn't getting the pressure it needs, you'll have a leak.
