I've seen many live performances in my life. Level 42 was the best. I saw them live in the early 90s, in Hereford leisure centre in the UK a small venue compared to many they played. It felt intimate and the sound was fantastic. When he played his bass rift at speed i was exhausted just listening. The very best live concert I'd ever been to. I still enjoy listening to their music on vinyl 30+ years later.
An old friend saw them once in the 1990s and said he found them disappointing, never had the chance to see them live myself, I will have to make the effort while I still can.
I have been enamoured with Mark King bass playing and Level 42 since I first heard The Chinese Way back in the day. He and they still keep me wanting more.
Seen Level a few times, best show in the Netherlands when he actually sang the lyric in Love Games "Show your love to me" he sang "Show your T!ts to me" he had me in stitches hahaha
Um, he generally plays it very much the same. Such is the nature of pop music. Grated this has a different intro and even a shittier tone that he usually achieves....

Does he occasionally snap/pop in a different place? Sure. And these are not things that are in the realm of "opinion"; these are facts. Now, discussion of King's ever-shite tone through several decades, no matter what his gear is, yes: that would be "opinions". Things that are subjective. But yes, none of it in important. We all have our favourite players....

My music began in '63, so L42 Simple Minds etc passed me by in the 80s, but CZcams gave me a taster & boy was I wrong, what a band, hastily buying L42 vinyl on eBay! I still hate 80s music but L42 are universal.

Fair point, absolutely. So much of the modern stuff leaves me completely cold, though. Charles Berthoud, for example. Clearly technically brilliant, but I'd rather listen to paint dry. This stuff just has so much more life to it.
Superb musician and very talented man. I just wish that the music didn't sound quite so like the incidental music from Bergerac or any other mid 80s British TV show. Having said that; would I be happy with half of his talent? A quarter would do. Where's me Triumph Roadster?
It's a fair observation. All I can say is that the multiple go-arounds work really well in the flesh with the crowd egging him on to do it again. This was also opening night of the tour, and it did develop as the run went on. Have a look at the one from Oxford and you'll see what I mean.

Ciao, suono il basso ma non sono un esperto di effetti. Comunque, il suono è filtrato da pedali, sembrerebbero phaser e chorus, ma sicuramente c'è un sacco di gente che potrà chiarirti meglio il dubbio. Comunque la ridondanza che senti è creata dall'intervento degli effetti che rimodulano il suono naturale dello strumento.
