Nathan is the most confident awkward person that i've ever seen.
@@alexandrecerqueira9864 Eric Andre is more of a confident crazy person
then you should check out czcams.com/users/AwkwardSinceBirth
Hs awkwardness is an act upon itself. Which proves the genius of the show
"Because there says theres no bad guys, because it says no bad guys can come in that town."
DOOM but he is actually awkward in real life. Like in interviews it does seem like he has anxiety he just doesn’t let it control him. Eric Andre is just super confident and doesn’t give a fuck.
He graduated in Canada's top business school with really good grades
B-, B, B+
Lol that's like the one comment on every Nathan fielder vid
& a C
oh for sure bud
What should this tell me, other than that he was really good at satisfying the evaluation system of Canada's top business school? Honest question!
This man is a wizard of loneliness.
CarpenterSound better than being a porn star
He makes awkwardness into a science and wields it like a master
I wouldn't even say he uses awkwardness as a science-he uses the science of human nature to forge artistic tools out of awkwardness and manipulation, and he uses those tools to craft masterworks.
well said
Brooks Fortenberry No. He was not a porn star. He's an Adult Entertainment Model.
I think the hardest I’ve ever laughed was when that gas station owner started talking about drinking his grandson’s pee. Nathan for You really is one of the funniest shows of all time.
That was outstanding.
One of the only times he broke character lollll
@@shelbyrobins1067 He broke character when the two brothers talked about having sex in the same room. He's only to the left of the screen so it's hard to notice at first.
You drink it when you're scared, you know?
Best episode
"I love you"
"Again"
Omg... lol
Tomahawk Madness what epsidoe is that from?
DAT BOI no idea. I saw a couple episodes when the show was new and haven't watched since.
DAT BOI it's the same episode he's talking about
Tomahawk Madness so... What episode ?
season 3 episode 5 smokers allowed, it is shown multiple times in the video
That woman is a REALLY good actress to keep up the "I love you" thing over and over without cracking up and without seeming insincere...so awkward. I think even SHE made Nathan uncomfortable, hence the tear in his eye.
That actress has a beautiful Emma Stone look to her.
N: some actors really can cry on cue.
I think she just found something in that moment to love in Nathan and said it from the heart. otherwise I can't believe how she pulled it off...
@@CptnHammer1 I agree, i actually started to feel like she loved him more every time she said it.
she actually wrote a twitter thread about it twitter.com/incertaspecie/status/1168654228262277120?s=20
Nathan is a genius, he really is.
Yeah he got really good grades in one of Canada's top schools
ThatBoyConrad Genius cannot be identified through the lense of conventional means. It doesn't conform to established authoritarian constructs. There aren't really any established metrics for determining what is or isn't genius, especially in the arts.
The fact that Nathan did well in school doesn't necessarily confer a high level of intelligence. School is a compulsory social construct for adolescents that was designed to measure learned subject matter by the cognitively average. It stifles the creative genius.
Mitchell Wells That was a line from Nathan for You’s intro. Wooosh
Masculine Man Nathan had bin a great insperation for me.
Nice college thesis
I was eaten by baboons at that time.
*Tragically*
Kyle Li He*
I see you comment everywhere
Skylar Well I was tragically eaten by baboons. Don't know about that dude.
Sounds like some freaky fun to me😂😂😂
i was like wtf when he said that
The 'I Love You' thing I remember from a couple years ago. It always makes me incredibly uncomfortable, I love it.
Sean Adamo I had to skip ahead. I can’t handle that 😂
Sean Adamo I couldn’t help but watch. It’s almost as if it transformed from a joke to being reality. Like she really loved him.
Again
Again
Again
"The candles flickered, the sheets were still, but all the energy in the room surrounded Roman and Kenzie. Kenzie stepped forth and gently touched Roman's arm. He suddenly felt weak in his legs and trembled and fell as if his Achilles heel had been struck by a blade, but all it was was simply a woman's touch"
that's a really good sentence
That dude matched or perhaps even surpassed Nathan's level of awkwardness but damn was that a good sentence. I think even Nathan was caught off guard with that one.
ngl, that was actually a good af sentence
@@tobychow4761 "good af sentence" unlike that one! lmao
So about a month ago I watched the rehearsal without watching Nathan for you - and the rehearsal BLEW MY MIND - so I started Nathan for you and I don’t think I’ll ever be the same. All other tv shows right now don’t compare
Get used to it. I have re watched those two shows more times than I can remember bro. Literally nothing will ever compare
Nathan does like pranks but without a middle man. He executes all the discomfort himself. What a hero.
I think in some ways we are all Jungle Children
Who is to say that this whole Earth isn't completely full of...
Jungle Children
I am definitely a jungle child 😂😂
@@neverbrokeagain3866 how poetic.
Live life as a jungle child and you will never feel broke again. 💜
Lmfao
...all just waiting to be kidnapped and eaten by baboons.
The "I Love You" scene made me tear up. Every time she said it you could see it becoming more genuine and I think Nathan was moved. It really shows how something like looking into someones eyes, and saying "I love you" can be really meaningful.
It’s genuinely hilarious and wholesome
Just started watching the show. It's an absolute ripper! So good.
Hey man, I just started too! I love your vids btw. Glad to know you were here.
Ei are u real Ozzy man
@@Rohan-ob5fo I believe he is, his channel is verified.
Oh how cool!
@@Vassilaco I thought this was a reference to Stuff Made Here's channel robot, but then I remembered it was "Oh wow cool" (or was it actually "Oh how cool"?). I suggest you check it out, you might like the deadpan humor too, similar to Nathan's.
RIP Dendhi; he was a real one 🙏🏽
Josa Alvarez poor jungle child
I love how Nathan always ties his never ending quest to make friends in the last minutes of ever episode. Kills me every time!
right! someone should make a compilation of all his awkward goodbyes, lmao.

Nathan For You is one of the greatest television shows, in any genre, of all time.
as a nature documentary it falls flat on it's face tho...
I dunno, that actually seems like an interesting nature documentary about homo sapiens.
A documentary that explores their social behavior when exposed to a new habitat, specifically one that they are tricked into thinking they already know.
I used Nathan's idea that people are being filmed, just not knowing what they are being filmed for to make this episode czcams.com/video/9_SLf3_UHiM/video.html Please check it out. I was inspired by Fielder especially when I was talking with the small business owner of an exotic pet store.
Bro.. I agree, and just found it by coincidence while scrolling thru youtube... Do you know of any similar tv shows plz ??
@@youness.2461 watch review it is verry funny
Nathan is responsible for employing so many folks and giving a bunch of nobodies or quirky people a shot. He is also an evil troll and brings out the absolute worst of human nature. Yet at the same time he has a heart of gold and is king of awkward cringe.
I actually love the I love you part, his quiet agains kill me, actually so sweet
"Women make up some of the prettiest humans on earth"
Sideline Scores The woman at 4:31 is definitely a babe. 👀
Yes, which episode is that?
I don't know, she kisses people and doesn't even really feel anything.
@ricetrippycreeps it's the one where they make the movie "The Web"
Sideline Scores they are the most beautiful thing on this planet
This show makes me cringe and laugh into oblivion
not you my favorite episode is the asexual computer repair business.
@@blcklstd6156 I forget which one I like the most. I think Finding Frances was the best way to end the show.
Speaking of oblivion all of the conversations sound like ones from the game
Easily one of the best and funniest shows ever made. While I want more Nathan For You I can't help but get excited thinking of what else he can do with his talent and really good grades.
Love how he went on to make The Rehearsal 😂👌
the "again, again" thing in the actual episode hurt me to watch. it overloaded my high cringe tolerance to a new level.
Couldn't make it through the "I love you" scene, had to pause it several times. Idk why that felt so raw?
@Dream Dream Serene nope. I'm a girl
Because it was.
"why are you promoting your grandson's pee"
The best moment.
One of the few instances you can see Nathan out of character.

Nerdwriter undressing Nathan Fielder undressing other people
I have never heard of this show. But I still clicked because I trust nerdwriter’s judgement.
It's a great show.
Me2, definitely gonna watch this
It’s literally one of the top 5 best shows of all time in my opinion.
Yes. ☕
Jasmine Jackson that's not a good thing
Your continued effort to draw attention to lesser known entertainment is honestly a gift.
I think most of the business owners in the show are very much aware that the exposure they get by being in a TV production is worth going along with Nathan's antics. That doesn't mean that the whole illusion is broken but still.
Now the craigslist people he hires and the characters he finds are remarkably weird and out there and often times so caught up in their own "performance" in a way that they don't even realise or care they are part of Nathan's.
How the aspect of appearing like a normal TV program is used to lure people in and throw them off kind of reminds me of Eric Andre who's guests mostly come because they think it's a normal talkshow.
I think both contain a lot of meta commentary about their respective genres and media as a whole.
The Eric Andre show is way more revealing in my opinion because people who come on his show are used to be filmed and the character they have construct for the cameras is totally broke by Eric. But when i see Nathan's show I see people who are not use to be filmed throw in this situation and I think about it like the people who are asked on the street to answer some general culture questions if they fail answering I don't assume that they are dumb, I think in the first place does the camera being point on them isn't putting more pressure on them which can explain their failure to answer so just the fact that normal people are put in front a camera and aware of it is already killing the authenticity for me they are nothing more than people putting an act for the camera in my eyes.
Harry Alimi I think most people on the Eric Andre show are more in on the joke though and are playing awkward or straight because it's what the show wants, kinds of like on Between Two Ferns. There's also some people who are clearly trying to up the weirdness themselves like Tyler The Creator or Chance The Rapper.
Michael you right about the one that knows who Eric Andre is, like Tyler The Creator or Chance The Rapper when you see them on the show things seems really scripted especially Chance. But when you see the case of Lauren Conrad whose publicist refused to send any more guest to the show because of what happened with her. It shows to me that the ones who doesn't know the Eric Andre persona are totally lost and the real them behind the character they have made up for the cameras start to show up and to me that's more real, it says and shows more about the human than people who knows Zach Galifianakis and act with him or the people on Nathan's show that keeps in the back of their head "don't look stupid there is a camera filming you be careful".
Eric and Nathan are actually close friends in private.
Well put
I was so happy to see this video pop up! I've never laughed so hard, and then thought so much about a show like Nathan For You. His deconstruction of Reality TV tropes and as Evan mentions, how people are undressed, is amazing. What a genius! Nathan Fielder deserves so much more recognition!
the part where he got tears in his eyes after she said "i love you" was kinda deep because no matter how manufactured the scenario was, there are people (i.e. nathan) who are going to see it as real.
This is hands down the funniest thing on television. I've recommended it to so so many and they all thanked me after.
The meaning of their interactions seems to often transcend whatever bit they’re doing, and it’s such a relief to see people talk to each other in this very real way. I haven’t watched the show but I certainly will after seeing this. Great video.
Please don't let me be in this. PLEASE don't let me be in this... Dammit I'm in this 0:40

Haha omg it IS you! That was a great moment.
Shameless self-plug
Holy crap. So cool seeing you here! How legit did you think Jack Garbarino was?
Too much make up guy
The "I love you" scene made me want to cry.
Thanks man, the moment I saw this video i started watching his show. It is hilarious. The loopholes and people he finds are amazing. Your work has always helped me find new shows or movies to enjoy.
wow, your analysis of this show is amazing. The "I love you" and "what is the point?" scenes blew my mind thanks to it
Thank you so much for making a video on Nathan. His show really deserves more recognition
love these kind of essays. these dissections are quite unique. nowhere in youtube i find this kind of satisfaction to know the details of a show, artist, art, movie etc

I'm so happy you made a video about this show!
This is the video that got me to commit to watching Nathan For You and I'm incredibly glad I did.
Nathan really is a genius and he created a unique piece of entertainment that gives us a genuine glimpse into the nature of who we are as people, playing roles in a society with made up rules that we don't even really understand.
Thanks for doing the show justice and giving me a chance to dive into this one of a kind experience.
I can't stop laughing because of the "I love you" - "again" scene. Feeling so identified, OMG.
When the escort meets him the 2nd time and says she watched an episode she says "you're mean". She had a bettrr grasp of nathan for you than any other subject did

Another BEAUTIFUL discovery from Nerdwriter. I literally binged all of Season 1 to 3 of Nathan for You after watching this
Great and long awaited analysis!!
i always knew nathan for you was good, but i never got around to watching until the other day. flew through every episode and loved it. it's absolutely brilliant and i'm mad at myself for taking so long to watch it.
Don’t even know who this is but now I’m interested thanks Evan
Nathan For You is a great show.
He’s a comedic genius
I've watched every single episodes and I'm still binge-watching clips on CZcams. It's one of the funniest show of all time.
This is probably the best Nerdwriter video I've seen. I heard of the show but knew literally nothing about it. Now I will check it out. Thanks!
I've never seen this show. This is the only time I've heard of it too. I started crying when he asked the girl to tell him him her loved him repeatedly. Right before, with you saying he longed for human connection, and the two things together just really stood out to me.
THANK YOU! This show is so underrated..
"And Ellen? Well...who the hell knows what Ellen thinks, at this point."
Honestly, Nathan is great but I really come here for your work. You convey such a deep feeling of passion in each video through your words and your narration. Its a joy to watch every time, thank you.
I literally found out about this show like 3 weeks ago and have been watching clips from it every day since. Love it
This autoplayed after Nathan for you and it took me half the video to realize that it wasn't Nathan shitposting
I’ve never heard of this until now
I’m going to watch this
This video brought a tear to my eye
Brilliant video, I was waiting for a class video essay about one of my favorite shows and you hit the nail on the head
For me, "Nathan for you" is one of the best deconstructions of the modern TV medium and our relationship with it.
I'm often surprised at how many people are genuinely fooled by the character he plays. The man is an gifted artist AND more importantly... a great business consultant!
Imagine just going to a bar one night and your every movement is transcribed and then an actor plays you in play.
Awesome piece man. This tells the story of the absolute BRILLIANCE that Nathan for You is. Not enough people realize it. It's such multi-layered comedy. Thank you.
Im so glad you made a video abt nathan fielder
Phrasing
Hugo Auditore Archer is awesome.
Phrasing BOOM!
We're not using phrasing anymore?
Are we still doing that?
I’m glad to see Nathan For You recognized as one of the best shows of all time. Nathan is pure genius in so many ways!
I mean, didn’t he graduate from Canada’s top business school with really good grades??
Ah you put me onto this show and now I'm hooked! Great video
I AM SO GLAD U MADE THIs
I’m ashamed to say that I clicked on this video thinking we would discuss how a man named Nathan physically undressed people...
Sameeeee
This was really well written. Nathan For You is also one of my favorite shows. It’s the funniest show I’ve ever seen.
The hardest laughs I’ve ever had were Arrested Development’s S2 finale and the moment when the in-store display for Summit Ice Apparel was revealed
Nathan is underrated. Thank you for highlighting this out!
*Wow thanks for sharing this series* I've heard about it but I had no idea what the draw was since it doesn't broadcast in South Africa *_I'll definitely stream it_*

This is fascinating. That last episode Finding Francis was the single best episode I've ever seen. Of any show
It was incredible!
This dissection of the show hasn't left my mind in the four years since it first came out. Not to be hyperbolic, but I think it has made me a better person.
My favorite channel doing an episode about one of my favorite shows is hand down what I needed this week
I love Nathan and his show, and both deserve more recognition.
Just remember to tell your children, if they don’t have a Doinket they’re a baby.
I think what holds this show together is the people know they're on camera which is why they have more patience, if it was a candid camera people would act much differently imo.
Mitch Jump and well the fact there most likely being paid to play along.
Awesome deconstruction of Nathan for You. Love the breakdown of the different vantage points in "Smokers Allowed" :)
Surprisingly i discovered this show the same day this video was posted. But i saw it just now. I cannot wait to watch all the episodes. I have not seen any show that is this honest, funny and original. Ever!

spent the entire labor day weekend watching all episodes of Nathan for you. Masterpiece.
Hey there Mr Nerdwriter, this is my first time commenting on one of your vids. Never have I seen a promo for a show that intrueged me this much. Ive never seen Nathan for you but I can imagine there being far more comedic parts to put in this vid. The parts you showed are the parts that (amongst other things) show Mr Nathan highlighting the fragility of his personality. Just watching this video made me feel more human and acceptant of other people and myself. Absolutely beautiful. Your timing in editing and the subjectmatter are very very strong. Will be watching Nathan for you. Thank you very much.
How many people plan on watching Nathan For You because of this video?...***Raises Hand***...
last good show on comedy central, and probably its greatest ever.
It's so fucking hilarious
Vad3r are they still doing new episodes?
no
Mark Colvin Jr. yeah they need to pay up because I’ve never heard of this show but I’m going to watch it now!
Terrific homage to a hilarious Canadian comuc talent. I think Bo Burnham and Nathan are a couple of voices for the "post-post-modern era" -- seeking to inspire and share hope and meaning to an audience that was close to giving up on those essential elements of human life. May they be recognized for their important, profound, touching, and often quite silly work! (I got here after the Wisecrack analysis of Bo -- great timing both of you!)
the again scene kills me everytime
YESSS thank you Nerdwriter for making a vid about Nathan's genius ❤
