Sounds like whoever designed the balcony has never cruised before. I totally agree with all your "cons" regarding it.
Cruising, by default is a 'first world activity' which means that when we watch a cruise video for tips and suggestions, by default, they are going to be 'first world' in content. No need to apologize Morgan, we who are fortunate enough to afford cruising come here to hear about your experience, good and bad. Love your channel!
😂😂 The little clip while you're explaining the heat from the mirror is so perfect and funny! I would book that cabin and deal with the little annoyances, although I can understand how a regular balcony could be preferable. The idea of having the sound and smell of the ocean through the whole cabin sounds so relaxing and lovely! Thanks for another fun video!

Love your videos. Agree with most of your comments. We had an Infinity Verandah not Aqua class. Our mirror in bathroom was not heated. I will have to investigate which cabins have that option. But one BIG thing you didn't cover, which was my favorite part was the thermostattouch pad control thingy. I loved movie mode, morning mode, evening mode. And our air conditioning was awesome. Our room was freezing at night which we love. We cruised at different times of the year obviously because our TV never got humid with water running down. Good point! When really hot outside the infinity balcony could be an issue. Luckily we cruised in September and it wasn't that hot or humid. You made alot of hood points. The bathroom door noise bothered me too! Lol I l such a problem to have.
We just got off Apex and we loved out AC room. If it is hot out, then do not open the window or just open a little to let a little fresh air in. Your in The Caribbean so it is on the hot side but that why people travel there for the great weather and beaches.
Just got off the Apex after spending nearly 2 weeks on it. What you point out are for sure relatively minor issues. Never really noted the noise from the bathroom door. I figured the magnets on all the doors are to keep doors from swinging open if the seas became rough. I had a standard balcony room and did have a chance to see a infinite veranda stateroom. I def prefer the balcony. You can step out into the balcony and close the sliding glass door avoiding the issue you mention with AC or the mist on the interior glass surfaces. The standard bathroom shower head is an adjustable handle, not as fancy as what was in the Aqua class stateroom but it worked great. Not sure what the price difference is but the regular balcony in this case worked out great. You could also set items outside to dry and close the door. There are excellent curtains. Overall, the ship entertainment, dining and staff are truly amazing and would return as I truly enjoyed it.
Between the fancy cabin bathroom and the Blu restaurant, I may need to book Aqua class on these new Celebrity ships. Can’t wait to cruise on the Apex or Edge. Though, I may wait a year for the noisy magnets to wear out a bit.
The lotion/soap comment made me actually laugh out loud 🤣

Thank you SO MUCH for showing what no other site has said about this new “amazing” Celebrity Cruise Ship. The issues that you brought up are more than minor annoyances. They are deal breakers ! I scheduled a cruise on this ship a few hours ago and just switched to another sailing on the Celebrity Silhouette. Perhaps it is older with less glitz, but it will have none of the weird cabin issues you mentioned ! I also suggest that people pay a little extra for a refundable deposit. This allowed me to quickly change my booking with no hassle.

We just booked the Beyond for an 8 day Med cruise in May of 2023. I haven't sailed this class of ship yet and we booked our usual concierge class, which is an infinite verandah. You are always so good with the details and the things that annoy you are the things that would bother me. I think I may keep an eye out for better rates on the Sky suites or a sunset concierge (which are already sold out..) I am very excited to experience this ship though, the common areas look right up my alley and this cruise takes me to Corfu where I'll be doing a Durrells tour!!
GREAT use of a great Madeline Kahn bit. Everything you mention would bug me too but the room itself with the French balcony (is that the technical term for that is? Heard that somewhere so I'm throwing it in!!) is amazing.

Apparently the celebrity edge is coming to Australia for the 2023/2024 summer season. Im a bit sad that captain Kate and bug won’t be onboard, she is taking the controls of the Celebrity Beyond when it starts sailing

Why in the world would they put frosted glass on the windows??? The cabins on the back of the Edge class are still traditional balcony. A dark curtain is MUCH better than the shade. Thank you for this video. You are so right!

We were in the same type of cabin in 10225 and I also noticed how hot the bathroom mirror was and I thought that was very odd. Viking also has a bathroom mirror that never fogs as it is heated in some fashion but, you absolutely feel no heat from it. I am still rather ambivalent about the infinity balcony, it was OK, but, just not something I especially liked.

Kinda glad we got one of the Porthole Balconies now! We ended up putting a face cloth against the magnet on the bathroom door. Ours was so loud. Weird, our mirror wasn't hot 🤔

Sailed on edge in aqua on the inaugural cruise and in November we will be on the apex. We love the edge ships but we also love the solstice ships.

On the Celebrity Edge, the first of this class of ship, the glass folding doors that you can close between the window and the cabin were clear. So the frosted glass in your cabin is an "upgrade" from the original design. I believe that was due to complaints about lack of privacy while in port, because of the unique way the shade works in this cabin, as you'd demonstrated in your review.
Although I like how it effectively increases the size of the cabin, I'm not a fan of the infinite verandas, and I still like the Solstice class the best. I highly recommend you try a cruise on one of these ships.

When I first saw a video of the infinite veranda, I knew it wasn't really for me. While I'm a solo traveler so some of the aspects of it are immaterial for me, I think I prefer the openness of the regular balcony and I find the raising and lowering of the window and shade to be an unnecessary use of electricity. I don't hate it, it's just not for me.

We’ve been on the Edge and are going on the Beyond tomorrow actually . We had booked them months ago, but if we hadn’t we wouldn’t have booked the Beyond. While the ships are gorgeous to look at, we just don’t like them. We don’t like the infinite veranda and we don’t like the fact that there is no quiet areas on the ship to have a drink or a coffee. You can hear the noise from everywhere. Just my thoughts.
One major bonus to that style of balcony is the enhanced privacy in that area from your neighbours while they are on the adjoining balcony. An excellent option when you want to get funky with your cabin companion.
What if I want to get funky with someone ELSES cabin companion? :-)
Thanks for the great info. I find the "infinite balcony" to be claustrophobic. I don't like not being able to see right or left easily, plus when I travel with family, we like to open the balcony so we have a bigger one the length of all our cabins. Good to know.
Picky...the frosted glass is what you want in curtians. I personally have very few curtians in my home. I'm from out west. Love the light not the darkness. Just close the frosted doors.
The magnets are still strong on the Edge we sailed Edge in October. The products cannot recall the brand. I am neutral on the IV. I prefer a regular balcony. However, okay. Miss the ease of use of a regular balcony. That bathroom door was not an issue for us. Cannot recall. Will see when sailing the Beyond
One plus is we would use that balcony more! But you can't get a full body sunbathe 😪 if you've a shy persona.

I did want to mention that there is a simple fix for that noisy bathroom door - a very thin piece of felt along the contact strip. Perhaps, that is a suggestion you could pass along to the cruise line.
viking has a ship with similar veranda, but it was designed for antartica and other artic regions. makes sense there since you probably don't want to be outside much.

I always wake up in the middle of the night and go out on the balcony. If it’s not bad weather, I may stay out there for 30 minutes. Love balcony cabins but have not yet sailed on Celebrity.
The Aqua Class lotions, etc are only in that class. Regular cabins get plenty of small bottles of the shampoos, lotions and conditioner, even sanitizer. I love Celebrity.

We are booked in a Sky suite on the Edge in December.
Some of these designs - full blinds and window remotely controlled up/down are pretty standard now in modern hotels (in London an example is the Citizen.)
Its an interesting style of room! But if given the choice I'm with you, id prefer a normal balcony room.
LOL our hotel in Athens definitely did NOT have a Morgan Approved bathroom. It had a frosted glass wall along the room edge.....

I just had my first balcony cabin it was nice just to pull the curtains back look out. Not sure if I would like this. Why not make the door clear. I think the Edge has these cabins. My sister in law would hat the mirror. She gets warm easy

No the regular Infinity balconies have different soap and lotion. It was just fine. Yours is fancier but the regular is fine.
The cabin looks nice but the things you pointed out would really annoy me. I'd rather have a regular balcony cabin. The vanity light must be LED bulbs. I have those in my apt and these bulbs run hot. BTW, I had 1 advertisement, not when you said, it was some hair product.

Quick question about the heated mirror - does it only heat up when the bathroom light is on?
Also the noisy magnet door catch - did you happen to try to cover the magnet with a wash cloth to see if the cotton might help reduce the harshness of the sound?

Hi Chris, not sure about the mirror. We usually have the light on when we're in the bathroom, so I don't know if we would have noticed what it was like otherwise. As far as the bathroom door, we ended up wrapping the belt from a bathrobe around the door handle to dampen the sound!

I like the idea of having a combination lock on the fridge. It would stop presumptuous guests while visiting, going into your fridge for a drink. Yeah we love Celebrity too but prices are quite high compared to pre-pandemic. No deals to be had so we shop around. It’s their loss as we booked 4 cruises between now and February on Holland America and Princess. Not a fan fan of the infinite verandah. It seems the cabins get further and further from the water as the ships get taller. I miss having a veranda that looks straight down to the water.

It's privacy without curtains, I like it I would only close it at night.
They could fix the problem with the hot mirror by simply putting a switch on the wall labeled "Anti-Fog" or "De-Fog Mirror"
The pillows… it’s called design. Most designer homes or beds have that level of pillows lol
No ad. All that condensation can't be good for the TV or anyone's laptops/tablets/phones if that happens every time you open the window.
We sailed September 18th from Athens and never NEVER had condensation like that. When we left room for excursions we shut the blind and kept the cabin chilly for our return. Loved the Infinity balcony. Its different and has alot of pros.
Did you find the long drawer under the sink in the bathroom? The Edge had one. Also we had the same bathroom products in our Concierge class cabin on the Equinox but not on a regular balcony cabin on the Edge.

I love Celebrity, but I know I would hate that cabin! I have a sunset Veranda (real balcony) booked on my upcoming Edge cruise. BTW - you are the first person I have heard mention the heated mirror. weird!
Booked an Aqua Class suite on Apex and just cancelled it after learning more about this idiotic infinity varandas… will rebook on the Apex but in the Retreat class to get a real varanda…

Condensation on every cold, flat surface isn’t going to do the electronics any good at all. That seems to be a massive design flaw in the balcony. Still, it looks a lovely cabin though I think I’d prefer a regular one.

Shame. They missed an opportunity there. They could have cut a tiny hole in the center (like a door spy) so you can peer out. It won't let much light in so it would still be dark in the room. 😒

In my opinion, that is not a balcony cabin! It is simply a high end ocean view stateroom! The Edge Class ships look beautiful, but I was never a fan of that infinite veranda! I am not impressed with that design at all!
I don’t think I will like these Veranda rooms honestly I prefer the real balcony also I think this is not good for the cruise 🚢 line and the ship 🛳 because not everyone is conscious enough to care about protecting the room , the walls , appliances etc and will les he the AC on with the window open and for sure this will build mold in the room.
Didn't get any commercials. That whole balcony contraption is the dumbest thing I've ever seen. Its almost unusable for its typical function. That's something that needs changing.

I love celebrity but I think that infinite balcony design is stupid! Dumbest design I’ve ever seen.
Not good. Could you focus on the topic. Don't care about the lint roller, don't care about shoes or the wires on the charger station. Floor layout, bed, sofa and closet are pretty standard.
Kinda obvious that the big pump thing next to the sink, is actually next to a bar of soap, so why would anyone think its soap? Incredibly nit-picky video. Complaining about extra pillows....tell your steward to take them away. Video exemplifies 1st world problems.
