Adam makes use of his new soldering station setup in this assembly of a beautiful Star Wars Thermal Detonator replica prop kit from KR Sabers/One Replicas. Not only is it a beautiful chrome metal kit, but it's designed to work with an intricate electronics system for lights and sound effects! Adam has a blast putting it together and problem-solving through the process!

Adam Savage, thank you so much for making this channel. It is incredibly entertaining, and I love watching you build things (especially when they are Star Wars Related).
Just came home from work and saw that you uplaoded a new One Day Build. You really made my day! Thank you Adam!
What is the brand and model of the wirestrippers?
I own and have built with products from all of these stores! I've never been unhappy with my purchases, great stuff!

@Grim Reefer You mean Jamie Hyneman? Well, apparently their personalities clashed a tad too much and so they just decided to go seperate ways.

Me: Remembers that Adam is a master of explosives.
I legit thought for a second that was what he meant
His next project will be putting a Lego kit together. How the mighty have fallen. So so sad
@@peterpatina63 Bah! Some Lego kits are awesome, and Adam has -always- made sure to keep childhood wonder alive -and- he is under 99 years old so he is still within the target age range.
Some 'props' prop masters and cosplayers have built through the years have, separating them from their movie counterpart, been active for real. From guns to swords to, well, everything from moonshine stills to tazing traps, so there is still hope.

Adam is turning more and more into a zany and kind old professor. Soon he'll build a Delorean and go back in time.
My mind went to Adam as a sci-fi Don Quixote
Great Scott!
Now I'm wondering how long until Adam does a flux capacitor one day build.

He’ll need the hydrospanner...
He's not quiet Cliff Stoll levesl of zany though...

Tim Forrest_Fired Please shut your mouth
During the time I was contracting to the DOA (Dept of the Army), I researched and constructed rudimentary improvised explosive devices and other related items for training purposes. My wife would mention on occasion as I work working on something in the backyard, that one day one of the daily overflights of Blackhawks that were typical where we lived, was going to land in the field and she would never see me again. I never had any calls or "visits" by any of the suits during the decade plus I was on the computer and/or ordering stuff online. She asked once that if there were actually explosives in my creations would they explode as intended instead of the irritating peizo going off? Yes they would. She just looked at me and shook her head. I am retired now and I no longer build those types of training aids.
@@Ken-no5ip whats your problem.
@@swirlingabyss Yep, that and other training aids that hopefully would cause the students to think on the move. If they didn't and things got loud, the cadre would inflict casualties, making the missions that much more difficult. And longer.

Erv Plecter great work sir it looks and sounds great
"This is the FBI. Are you building a thermal detonator?"
"You... I... it... wait, WHAT!?"
When he says "The Bomb" I loved that look he gave on how proud of himself he was with that.
I like watching Adam build, but I prefer things built from scratch. I like seeing his thought process, and use of different methods
On a Bits to Atoms segment they made a replica of his replica using forged metal!!
Agreed. This was not informative or educational. Watching Adam solder for 20 minutes is not my cup of tea.
@@DavidPlass no but it is oddly soothing.
So cool to see a part we designed appear here :D
Hope you enjoyed building this prop as much as we did!!
Have you built any other devices or things ?
I have wanted to watch him build a thermal detonator my entire life. Childhood me is crying right now, I am so happy
I have no idea why but I love the silence when Adam is doing whatever he's doing, and his mumbling just makes me feel like I'm understanding what he's doing

The sadness is watching your childhood hero grow old and grey, i love this man and i wish one day i could meet him. He pushed me to think properly and question what i already know, god speed adam and hope you're blessed with many good years to come!
Why is it so incredibly enjoyable to watch a man in his 50s be enthusiastic about absolutely anything and everything?
It's amazing how something that only appeared appeared only once can be so iconic.
I could swear I had seen it more times.
That's how a lot of stuff from Star Wars is. IG-88 was only on screen for one scene and never even moved! Such great prop/art design in those movies

Excited Adam is best Adam. I think he is truly living his best life lol
Thats the best. No music - Just Adam building his one day build!
I vaguely remember the first time I stumbled upon your brilliance. It was the intro to the "Shredded Plane" episode of Mythbusters on the History Channel. I'd recently read in a magazine about a similar (if not the same) event and from then I was hooked by your enthusiasm. But even beyond that, you have provided endless hours of not only satisfaction, realization, and discovery with Mythbusters, but also awoken a personal sense of wonder and curiosity within me that I only ever feel when watching your One Day Builds on the Tested channel. Your constant enthusiasm and seemingly infinite knowledge of what you see in your mind, then build to fruition, will remain constant envy to me. I sincerely wish you nothing but the best in your everything and you will forever be my idol. Live long and prosper Sir Savage. May our everything be with you.
The beeping during assembly would have me anxious! It looks like you're trying to disable a bomb!
Imagine the stress of trying to enable one
@@ryanp3721 Yeah, the stress is insane when I go the the Orphanage.
Everyone: "Lay-a"
Adam Savage: "LEEE-A"
I had to come to the comment section after my brain said "what did he just say?"
@@drewshine627 ha we always pronounced it LEE-ah when I was in primary school - I was a very small kid when Ep 4 came out, so I grew up with the original trilogy, and yeah. We always said Han instead of Hahn, too. There was also a rumour that Darth Vader was really the Green Cross Code man in disguise (plus some more completely out there details) - The Green Cross Code man was this PSA character to teach kids road safety in the UK in the 80s. It all got dismissed it as rubbish... lo and behold, once the internet came into being, I discovered that those kids were right all along, as David Prowse portrayed both Vader in the original trilogy AND this PSA character. Oddly enough, Darth Vader's lines aren't quite so threatening when said in a thick Bristol accent. LOL
Apparently, when they were making the original trilogy, they would ask Lucas to settle pronunciation debates, including Leia’s name, I think, and he would shrug and say “It’s just a movie.”

Hey Adam! And the tested crew! I’ve been watching Adam on Tv and The web for most of my life, I started watching myth busters when I was an 8 year old and here I am now at 21 years old still having the same amount of joy watching Adam explain the coolest things you could share with people and that’s memories and stories. He’s like the fascinating family member you just can’t get enough of! Thanks for being my greatest inspiration and most of all, a friend although I’ve never met you in person or held a conversation, and you’ve never met me in the same way, we’ve been interacting for years now and I’m just glad that I can watch your amazing content to bring myself some joy in this chaotic little chapter of this year
loved that adam assumes that we know him because we watch him in the videos, thats sweet of him
You can always tell , that someone that works with their hands a lot. Always has one smashed finger or is wearing a Band-Aid !!!!!!!!!!. Another awesome one day build video , Adam !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Adams nails have been thoroughly weathered.
What technique did you use?
It’s so realistic, especially the bruised nail
Oh it's a bruise
TDS causes a lot of stress.
Adam, your ability to teach and entertain is a gift to the world. I'm so happy when I see you've got a new upload for us. Never change.
This was a fun one for me! Adam being in coveralls and working on this thermal det prop kit, I took the opportunity to suspend some disbelief and picture Adam as a munitions factory worker somewhere in the Star Wars universe building a thermal det. That real-life story at the end did not disappoint, either! Thanks for sharing this prop-building journey with us! $200 is out of my price range for a prop kit, even one with all of the proverbial bells and whistles, but I can certainly imagine the fun that people will have with this kit!
I am impressed by his carftsmanship everytime, but even more with his knowledge he must have.
In times like this we need as much this kind of content as possible! I know Adam that you propably don’t hear this a lot but: Your videos keep us sane!
