A humble rendition of a beautiful and rare 200 year old Bhajan in Braj Bhasha (Hindi) composed by the king of Travancore, Maharaja Swathi Thirunal. Set in the Raga Sindhu Bhairavi, the song 'Ramachandra Prabhu' begins with a description of Rama walking to his kingdom to the sound of dharma. The verses beautifully capture the plea of His devotees, who place all their faith and belief in the grace and kindness of the Lord and surrender to Him. Swathi Thirunal Rama Varma was the King of Travancore from 1813 to 1846 CE. He established schools and libraries for his people, and promoted education. He was also a linguist, speaking seven languages including English, and a brilliant musician who composed over 400 classical songs in Hindustani as well as Carnatic, in languages like Hindi, Sanskrit, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil and Manipravalam (a combination of two or more languages such as Tamil and Sanskrit, or Malayalam and Sanskrit etc.).

This is a welcome bhajan for Ram Lalla, at the right time. Last month I visited India first time, and shocked by seeing a Mogul India with no Hindu identities in Delhi. We need more united efforts like this contribution to reclaim Hindu identity of India. The entire video was a Goosebump moment. It was so rivetting, devotional and emotional that I was hoping against hope that a miracle would happen towards the end of the video with the real lord Rama himself making a cameo appearance as he did for Thyaga brammam, saint/composer Sri.Thyagaraja.
