About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.

Terry, you were smiling ear to ear when you reeled off the three rooms, Louis the 14th, 15th,and 16th. You can see your wonderful project nearing completion on this floor! We all celebrate with you.
Never complain about what you share with us on your videos. The weather dictates a lot of what you can show, but so does the to do list and the number of helpers you have. With Brenda and Pete there an extra pair of hands made light work of the clearing of the gate and when the weather became too miserable to work in, it made perfect sense to tackle a job where many hands would make light work. Your viewers just love what you post, we are enthusiastic to see progress everywhere so film what you want and what needs to be done, we just are there to encourage and for the ride and occasionally with some words of wisdom!

.. they don't have paid, 9 to 5 jobs which they have to go to.... THIS is their Job!!
... ALSO, they're creating a fantastic house set in many acres of parkland and landscaped garden for themselves...which must be a substantial incentive.....!!!
AND, when it's finished... it's a significant revenue stream.... another large incentive to 'crack on'.......!!!!!

Definitely, Paula, just quietly goes about her work and gets a lot done. When her husband is there to help ( I think Pete is her husband) there’s no stopping the two of them.
How superb to uncover the pedestrian gate and clear a route to it - so ornate and just crying out for some summer weather stonemasonary and another wonderful tonne or two of gravel to be laid (fingers crossed) + a wild flower border. Seeing it from the Chateau adds yet another interesting vista for all to appreciated and think of the history behind it. How exciting as a summer project and VERY WELL DONE to all as it looked a real slog in the rain. Great progress on the bedrooms and such good teamwork from all. Always a joy to watch your progress. It’s exciting how quickly you can renovate now. Tracy is an expert now and can put her hand to anything. I can see where Terry got his work ethic and creativity from. And well done to the backup team too. With this suite completed you’ll only have the ground floor and basement to go. The little gate is so cute. I would still give it some importance and highlight it as well!!😊 Gravel it to keep the swing for the gate and a small bench and bird bath. And some wild flowers with a solar motion light.😊

I am amazed that you're finding so many pieces for every gate you work on. The pedestrian entrance is quite beautiful. I can only imagine how good it will look when the stones are put back in place, plantings are done and it's painted. Terry, when you were taking about what the rooms will look like, I wished I could have seen how you were imagining it. You clearly had it in your mind's eye already. Great job, as always, and it's always good to have extra family around, especially when they work as hard as you all do! It's always a pleasure to watch your videos.

Wonderful! There is some stone wall starting from the entrance gate! I would strongly suggest to build it up to hide the N-12, with the traffic and reduce the noise. That will be beneficial for when there are guests and they want to rest outside. Keep up the good work, I love your vlogs ❤

I think you guys need a mulching machine for the small twigs and stuff. You can cut up the larger wood parts for the fireplaces. All the gates you have repaired look wonderful! TM retired but likes historic preservation like Chateaux.
I was surprised to see you didn't have the original wooden beams showing, in stead of covering them up, you all did a fantastic job outside, looking really good 👍 20:29
It would not be in keeping with the style of the rest of the chateau, or the period. I am sure they will have plaster ceiling rose etc.

The little entrance became lovely. A bit of work but a big chance!!
During one of the Bricante trips one of you found a tile with a donkey on it. That was a donkey stone and they are used to clean natural stone. they used to come in 2 colours and were often used to clean grease from stone floors stop them from being slippery then housewives started using them to clean the stone paths and steps around the home and in the kitchens.
