- Explaining sailboat racing to non-sailors can be tricky, but I'm trying to make it easier on everyone. This is not a video about the rules, flags, bylaws that create the nuance of sailing tactics. It's just a way to help your non sailing friends understand why you leave work early every Wednesday night with a gloves on. Creepy.

I recently bought a Yacht-master 2 (which has a Regatta Timer on it). I just learned what a Regatta is today.
I just learned that a yacht has to be over 40ft long to be a yacht......today.

@@CaptainBoomies I did some regatta's on an Oyster 56, it sure gets interesting when the the boats are 1 million dollar plus. The no touching rule is very stringent on those races.
