I could have died and anyone else in that hall could have. The security guard was often an asshole but he did care about the kids he was there to protect and I’m glad he was standing around the corner.
It’s kind of worrying that American schools need security guards. Gun violence against children is so common that there needs to be a fully trained security guard there at all times

first of all there are no bullets being fired when they are walking out and second of all if there was shots being fired the military people would’ve been looking for the guy
This is the safest way out in this situation. During a school shooting there’s lots of stuff going on and it gets really chaotic in order to prevent this chaos they keep students in an orderly fashion. Not to mention at this point the gunman had probably already been located and stopped or had already been arrested. Either way so much can go wrong in stressful situations especially when they involve kids and guns. These people did good keeping it under control and this whole situation could have gone so much worse without the proper care of these children.
