  • Just as much as panic buying can lead to regret, panic selling is also not the answer! If you're contemplating selling some of your items, I suggest you watch this video first. I'm all for letting go of things that no longer serve us. In fact, it's usually very liberating to say goodbye to things we don't want or need anymore. I've been there! However, I've heard so many of you tell me that you regret selling certain items and wish you had been more thoughtful before deciding. So, I made this video covering the 3 common mistakes I've seen - and how to avoid them! I hope it's helpful for many of you. xx
    If this video resonates with you in any way, please give it a THUMBS UP. It'll mean a lot.
    As always, thanks so much for watching~

    Trend chasing really is so silly when it comes to luxury bags especially… like okay, we’re ALL supposed to be buying and selling ~$30-50K worth of bags every year? Just to keep up? That is literally preposterous! The internet is such a lie! 😂

    I’m so glad I broke the buy sell buy sell cycle. I spent thousands and lost thousands and it was all to fill a void in life. I was trying to compensate for low self esteem and finally realized this was not it for me. But It you love this, more power to you ♥️

    THIS. VIDEO. IS. EVERYTHING! This could not have come at a better time. I have seen the "quiet luxury" trend and I have the "loud" bags. I even went as far as getting quotes to sell one. The fact that I have questioned it means I'm going to hold on to it. I buy things with forever in mind, and stick to classics. I am glad you made this video! Im eyeing your black speedy bb.... the lambskin is so beautiful! I think the same of my speedy 25 v 25b... I have the 25, I'm happy 😊

    Well said! I couldn't agree more! Individuality is the best expression of fashion in my opinion. I tend to dress quiet/casual, but I love expressing myself by dying my hair with the occasional vibrant color(s)! I also drive an older car because I love it and never want to get rid of it! My thought is - anyone else's opinion is none of my business 😊

    I 100% agree with you!! I do me, I buy what I like when I can whether it’s “in style, fashion, the it thing or whatever” I never let any influencers or anybody tell me what I should be buying or not buying with my own money. What ever floats your boat and makes YOU happy. I’m a leader not a follower 🤪 I honestly couldn’t care less what others are doing to each their own. 😊

  • @ssoomee
    @ssoomee Před rokem +3

    Harper's Bazaar used to have a feature called 'Keep, Buy, Store:' they would tell you about trends/ pieces that you should 'keep' wearing, what pieces you should 'buy' to add to your wardrobe, and what pieces to 'store' for now if the trend was waning or on the way out, so you could pull it out for another time. They always did remind readers that different trends would come back cyclically, and they'd say something like 'hey, it's time to pull Trend-X out of your closet, it's really fresh and pertitnent for such-and-such a season.' I really liked that idea because it was never really about following trends, but making what you already had work for you. They always gave different trends for readers to follow, and then you could pick and choose what your focus or style was, which was such a healthy way of approaching luxury and fashion in general. I really miss that feature because it would make so much sense in today's fashion market.

    This is so true, in my own experience. I kept on buying bags then I will see a new one I get excited about, then sell the old one and buy the other bag. This was my life for 2 yrs. This video has come at a perfect time while I go back and forth about whether to sell a bag, mainly for feelings of guilt as I have recently bought a new bag.

    • @hellocatwalkcity
      @hellocatwalkcity  Před rokem +1

      I think many of us have suffered from shopping guilt. I think it’s helpful to evaluate if the guilt is pointing to a valid concern or if it’s purely a habit to make yourself feel bad after buying something. Sometimes we inflict unnecessary guilt upon ourselves. When it’s time to let go of something, do it out of joy and gratitude and say goodbye to the item with a smile!! Don’t do it with guilt or angst! 😉 💗

  • @claudiakalkbrenner4148

    Amazing topic! Completely agree with you in not selling a bag to fund a new bag. If we saved and bought something it’s because we wanted it, now just because a newer and shinier one came along we are going to get rid of it?! Also about your video when you say you re just content with your collection, i mean you have all the classics so yes it is quite easy to be done and content 😅. As for owning “all the classics” some would argue I should keep shopping bc there are so many styles I don’t own. 😅 I think it all comes down to what makes sense for each of us. 💗

    Wearing conspicuous logos will never be found among some groups and with such groups has nothing to do with what is currently in fashion. If you are not part of that group and wanting to dress appropriately if you are with them, then you shouldn’t be concerned with wearing your conspicuous logos. People should wear what makes them feel comfortable and like themselves in life, even if it’s head-to-toe logos. For me, wearing logos or long fashiony nails has never been something I’d do despite trends.

    Great video. On a different note, do you get a lot of use out of your jumbo? I’m considering getting one since I already have a medium with gold hardware. But I’m not really into big bags because I don’t like the weight. I know you’re also sensitive to weight so I’d love to hear your thoughts on the bag.

      If you don’t like big bags and you’re concerned about weight, I don’t think a jumbo is the right choice for you. The jumbo double flaps are quite heavy. I have the single flap version and it’s lighter but still gets heavy if I fill it. Hope this helps.

    no I hate the speed of luxury train these days, a new trend new style every other day. making the bag purchases feel cheap. stick with your instinct and know what you like, not what they want you to purchase. just like those bv green bags. used to see them everywhere on social media and that actually put me off on purchasing.

I think the conclusion of your video is a pretty accurate description... Can't judge a book by its cover....

    Además lo más importante es no comprar bolsos de firma acosta del sufrimiento...De animales.Pagar cifras tan elevadas de dinero por un bolso que lleva mucha gente no motiva nada,la mejor motivación es contribuir a no sacrificar a los animales. Hay bolsos por 50 dolares preciosos y hacen el mismo servicio. La industria de la piel es un negocio cruel que solo favorece a los ricos crueles.

    Quiet luxury is stupid. I wouldn’t pay 2k for a bag to get “lowkey”. Thats maybe for rich people who can afford many of these bags. But if u just buy 2 a year. Get a classic print. Lol quiet luxury is a trend made by rich people. Enjoy what u like. I like prints.

    • @sarahterry2140
      @sarahterry2140 Před rokem +1

      For rich people it is not a “trend” but being secure enough to not need to flaunt someone else’s “status” logos owned by everyone and also a matter of security because thieves don’t recognize stealth wealth bags. And buying items that are timeless and last for years or even decades would not be considered “stupid” by most.

    I think all of your bags are quiet luxury. If you were decked out in logo head to toe, it would be another matter. One logo item per outfit doesn’t scream loud to me. Wasn’t logo mania the way to go just a year ago? Luxury shouldn’t be fast fashion but sometimes it is. Skinny jeans are my favorite. 😊

If I were one of those people that had reached out (probably just subscribers excited for you and connecting with you) the tone of this video would sting.

      Thanks for the feedback. The video wasn’t meant to make anyone feel like they’re being thrown under the bus. It was my sincere reaction and feelings towards the notion that we must constantly buy more and keep replacing or upgrading everything we own in order to be happy. I am not offended by what anyone has said to me as I know my viewers mean well! 😊 At the same time, I hope no one is offended by my reaction of saying “NOPE, I won’t be buying it.” I just wanted to put out the message that just because I’m a CZcamsr doesn’t mean I’ll shop endlessly and mindlessly. I hope people can appreciate that.
