In this video, I share the 12 categories of items that I feel I already have more than enough to last me a lifetime. So, I won't be buying any more. Simple as that! I definitely feel this on personal level. when you started to collect more than 3 items on the same brand, you feel bored and see it becomes repetitive. the more you buy and collect, at one point you feel stuffy and overwhelmed. I cannot imagine how can people have a room full of handbags 😵💫 this video is definitely a big reality check

Same here! I am glad and blessed that I invested in some classic bags and shoes a few years ago. They are in good condition and I really do not need to buy any more unless I get one as a gift. I am in a good place with what I have. The recent price hikes have further reinforced my stance on this. I am learning to be grateful for life and just be at peace with myself. That is truly priceless.

In my adulthood, I have become a fan of the late Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy's style. I ran across an article about her not long ago and found it so interesting that her close friend reported that she had essentially two handbags that she used daily (outside of very specific evening clutches). One was the Birkin and one was a smaller Prada tote (that was actually re-released in last couple of years). Both black and sleek - one with YG hardware, one with silver toned hardware - and both minimal. The friend claimed that her NYC closet was small and CBK was constantly editing her closet to maintain a certain style. I realize that this minimalist black/white/neutral look will not make everyone's heart sing, but it really makes one think. While it is fun in the moment to buy many different handbag styles/colors, it might be more enviable to cultivate one's LOOK to be more consistent - in a way that you love. I do think the bags become more special when you actually have less and therefore wear them frequently... they become a hallmark of your personal style. Thanks for the great video!

It's an odd feeling because we are in a culture that tells us "you'll never have enough", so it feels a little rebellious, lol. Yeah, I have enough bags, SLGs, fashion jewelry, and scarves, etc. It's a relief, actually. I hope it lasts a long time for both of us.

I’m bored of the luxury handbags. They are no longer as special. Everywhere I go I see the bags. All houses. Not just LV. I have no desire to buy anymore and have cut back on watching you tubes.

I went to Greece and found a beautiful local handmade leather bag and it only cost me 50€. It reminded me of Tanner Leatherstein and how the craftsmanship of a bag is so much cheaper than the name of a brand!

I decided this at Christmas. Not just luxury but 'stuff' in general. I haven't bought ANY clothes/bags/accessories since and won't even concider doing so until the end of the year. I've really enjoyed using and wearing what I already own....and it's freed up SO much time now I'm not shopping or planning what I 'need' to buy 😊

Wow, im on the same place right now, enough Is enough. I have things that I don’t even wear, and yet always looking for the next item. But im done now. I just sold a few bags and slg, im happy with the few à kept. I should wear does to start with. Maybe buy 2 items that I wanted since long. But that’s it for me. Enough is enough. We are real people not influencers being paid to wear these bags. I value starting a "life fund" for my baby girl that she can use for school, down payment etc after 20 years of compounding interest.

Definitely do an unboxing of the Chanel cardholder. Also, I feel the same way I don’t need so many bags and about three months ago I went through my bags, picked up my favorite and took the rest to a consignment shop. And last week I did it again and realize there were more I could sell, I’ve done the same thing to my jewelry, sunglasses, and clothing. I finally get it less is more. And I’m on the same page as you if I have too many bags to choose from it’s too stressful.

Hear hear ! 🥂🙌 I think there’s an element of maturity with this mindset and I find myself in a similar situation. I’m loving all my classic pieces, but having some regrets with lots of “trendy” luxury pieces which I might sell. I’m content with just the emblematic pieces from each house, right down to my Montblanc pen (who needs more than one,right?)
Maturity perhaps 🙈 but also self awareness! I realized over time that more of the same simply won’t add much to my life, and I’ve become aware of the fact that balance and gratitude is what will sustain me! Maybe this is how you’re feeling about your Montblanc! One is plenty for sure! 😉
This! I don’t have a lot of luxury bags and I have the same worries where I can’t enjoy the items that I buy. Even if I can afford to buy everything, it won’t be the same as just buying one at a time and enjoying it.

Thanks for this. I think it's a great decision to spend more of your time with family on holidays than shopping if they don't enjoy it. And yeah it's OK to buy less, I'm trying to buy less these days too.
I have had to stop buying and collecting to reach other goals, but by stopping and giving an absolute date and consequence for failing, I was able to stop bag buying. It is a habit to keep getting, I have more than I can reasonably use over several seasons.
Same, I am reaching other goals with my money and I made piece with not wanting to buy everything that's being dangled in my face 😊

I’m one of your subbies that enjoys your channel mainly because of your contemporary brands. I’ve never been into luxury, I can’t justify the price and to me, the only brand I find luxury is vintage Coach - the leather is absolutely DEVINE 😍 and with three kids going through College/University our money is going towards them instead, the world’s a different place, tough for the young ones these days 👍🏻

I totally get you regarding Hermes bags, how many Birkins and Kellys do you need? Plus they aren’t cheap! You can get your variety with the other bags you have. Although I am a sunglasses person. I used to buy a new pair every 6 months! Not so much anymore but love how they can change your whole look/vibe. Thanks for sharing 😊

It’s so much more satisfying having less that you enjoy thoroughly. Capitalism really thrives on us feeling like it’s never enough and lately I’ve been enjoying what I have. I too made a list of my clothing and it’s been sooooo helpful in me not over shopping and me also truly enjoying what I have.

What’s funny is I recently sold items that I had multiples of because of the same reasons enough is enough. There are only so many cosmetic cases and card holders I can use. There really is no need to have 10 of each.

Well done! I am definitely feeling the same way. Not disappointed at all. Contentment is a wonderful thing. For me - I don’t yet have a Birkin, Kelly or Constance so whichever ones comes first will be my last one , then done. I like each of those for a different reason and would be happy with only one. I want to use and love everything I have. If they just sit on a shelf then it’s a huge waste. Great video.

I'm currently rewatching some of your videos...especially the ones that discuss consumerism and feeling "enough"...and further, that I have enough.
I fully admit that I have fallen in the trap of making bad choices in the past and am now spending a lot of mental energy evaluating how I can make better choices in the future NOT based on consumerism and more on making classic choices that will serve me the remainder of my life with thought and care.
We will be in Paris in May and I also plan to only hit a few specific stores, Hermes in Paris (for a bracelet for my granddaughter turning 13 in October, I looked and looked for a pink one last spring and fall while in Europe with no luck) and Gucci when we are Rome, but that’s it!!

Great idea to have a no-buy list! I will definitely make one before my trip next week
Some on the top of my mind:
- Mini bag/pouch except the LV mini pochette (looking to buy 2nd hand, I will not get distracted by other cute styles)
- Canvas/shopper totes (I know I'll get tempted because Japan is notorious over totes but I need to stay strong lol)
- Earrings (they're my weakness but I hardly get to use my earrings as I'm happy with my current ear curation, I want a bracelet though, hopefully a 2nd hand tiffany by the yard)
- Sneakers (It's so cheap in Japan but I have 2 white sneakers I am happily rotating)
The only bag I hope to buy during my trip is the perfect not-so-mini practical bag, similar to you speedy bb. I've never shopped Hermes because it's not in my price range but that belt + card holder is awesome! If I ever chance upon it (again, preloved) I might get one.

I’m as you know, I am an LV girl, so mostly everything I have is LV. What I do is have fall winter items (monogram & dark empreinte ) and spring summer items (Damier Azur & light color empreinte ) & then special occasion items, all LV.
This trip to Paris I think I want to snag one or two more lighter special occasion empreinte pieces then I’m done.

I am restarting my collection after selling 10 bags and a few slg's. I have all my slg's now but I want to add 4 bags from different categories. Only expensive one is a bag from LV. Since I know I want to start traveling with my son in the next few years I won't need a lot of bags.

This hit home. Beginning of last year, I created a virtual inventory of my bags to keep track of what I actually own. I took photos, uploaded to my laptop and categorised into Leather Large, Leather Crossbody, SLG and Vegan Leather folders. I was shook at how many I’d owned in similar styles (at one point I had the same bag in 7 different colours 🤦🏻♀️ and that’s just one style, I had several more bags in the same styles, just different colours). It really put into perspective how much I spent needlessly.
Since then anytime I see a bag I think I want, I compare it against my inventory folder and make sure I don’t already own something in a similar colour or style. I also wait a couple of months before buying to see it I still really love it
I do the same! Also the photos remind me of how beautiful they are and that makes me want to use them even more!
Photos are such a great way to manage your wardrobe! 👏 I actually use photos to resist temptations. So if I see something I like, I take a photo of it in the store and just admire the photo. Usually, after a while, I get over it and move on. 😊

Hi Hanna! Happy to hear you were able to spend some time and add beautiful memories with them. Not disappointed at al! This was a really good video reflection on consumption and what your collection consists of. I needed to set up time to do this as well when I have the time and a clear mind. I do keep a diary of my collection so I can look at the inventory but I think having time to physically look at them and possibly take a group photo can help me get rid of the ones I don't need and better curate what I do need. I must say I am probably going to add a few more pieces from other brands and a couple more from Chanel and I am probably going to be at that point where I can say no more! Thanks for sharing. I haven't seen your other videos lately but wondered if you ever discussed your New Zealand trip? That’s great that you have a diary of everything you own! How organized! I do think that physically going through each item will help even more. When I pull everything out of my closet to do my “audits” I am always reminded of just how MUCH I already have. As for New Zealand, I’ve never been but I’d love to one day! I adore you my sweet. And I love your videos. I think your video echos a lot of what most of us are feeling: a general burnout with the luxury houses and the products they produce. With all the ridiculous price increases of late, the houses have just taken the fun out of buying luxury bags and doing so frequently. It's just not fun anymore. Something big will happen if they really want to bring the fun back.

Shopping is a slippery slop. It can become quite compulsive. I’ve decided to put a pause on luxury until the end of the year. I want to buy stuff, but I really don’t need to.
The luxury world give off the case of the "give me", it's really hard to turn away once you are down that slope. However, with determination dear, it can be done. I had to learn that myself recently.

Ahh the Ferragamo bracelet is so cute! Would love a Kelly belt but first need a waist 😂. I really try not to replicate my bags and find having just one of a particular style makes it feel more special/luxurious to me. I admire your stance on Hermès because I think the tendency is to want almost one of each bag style from the House or the same bag but in varying sizes. So hard not to get caught up in today’s marketing ways. As a latecomer to the luxe world, I don’t have an abundance and I’m unlikely to because I like to spend money on other things more than I like bags. 🤷🏻♀️

I’ve seen people sell their Coach bags on sites like Poshmark. Or you may want to try bringing them into a Coach store to see if any of your bags are eligible for a trade-in! As part of their Re-loved program, they accept some older bags. Good luck!

This year i am only spending money on items which stays on my body. For example jewelry. I am also cutting back on luxury makeup and seeking for great drugstore alternatives. Seriously who knows u spent a ton on makeup ? And who knows u had a new luxury bag when u stay home all the time?

Everyone needs an Hermes bag and everyone needs a Chanel bag?! 😂 Wow. 🤯 No no no. My daughter is turning 13. She is not really into material stuff but she has always commented on one of my Hermes bracelets and admired it, so I got her one in her fave color. 💚 It’s a simple leather rope design and has no obvious branding so I’m comfortable with her wearing it.
