@Matthew Aislabie I've never heard that speculation Jesus was Melchizedek was dismissed as either gonistic or gnostic heresy. What I believe was dismissed was the notion that we could know, as Christ never revealed this. But for Catholics, with typology, we don't need to know that, as we know the Melchizedek was a type of Christ. Now, there were gnostic documents found in the 1900s which suggest what you are saying, but that the Church established by Christ does not consider authoritative. Are you a Gnostic?

God's interpretation in Hebrews 7 clearly reveals who Melchisedec is to the New testament saints. We don't have to follow the Genealogy of Melchisedec since the writer of Hebrews have started mentioning Melchisedec from Chapter 5 & 6 quoting from Psalms 110. Melchisedec is not a type of Christ but Christ is sworn and ordained after the order of Melchisedec by God in Psalms 110 in eternity. This prophetical ordination concerning Christ is again mentioned in Hebrews chapter 5:5 to the begotten Son of God, which is to say to the Resurrected Christ (Psalms 2:7 & Acts 13:33)
The prophecy of Hebrews 5:6 concerning Christ gets fulfilled in Hebrews 6:19 & 20 as He entered within the eternal veil. Before entering Into the eternal veil, Jesus was the forerunner and in entering, God's eternal Ordination after the order of Melchisedec fulfilled.
Today we've a mediator (Hebrews 8:6)who's with an excellent ministry established in better promises or prophecies (Psalms 110) Law, Levitical priesthood, Animal sacrifices & blood, brings no perfection but God's begotten Son who is after the order of Melchisedec as our High priest, mediator and intercessor(Hebrews 7:25 & 26) is able to save to the uttermost.
Many excellent things are mentioned of Jesus Christ who is after Melchisedec's eternal order.
God's prophecy in Psalms 2:7 and 110:4 was only for Christ alone which the Hebrews writer clearly highlighted in Hebrews 5:4.
Begotten(Resurrected) Son of God is made a High priest after the order of Melchisedec and not the Apostles. Only the glorified Christ our forerunner after He entered into the eternal veil was made a high priest after the order of Melchisedec and not before that while Jesus was in earth (Hebrews 8:1-4).
Hebrews 7:14-17, the scripture talks not only about the evidence, but yet far more evdient: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec ariseth after the power of an endless life another priest Jesus Christ, whom God testifieth after the order of Melchisedec. These verses confirmed that Melchisedec is the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ received no old testament Genealogies ordination since He's after the power of an endless life and after the similitude of Melchisedec The Holy Ghost of God Testifieth. Hallelujah.

Was King David from both the Tribe of Judah and Tribe of Levi? If he was not of the Levites, what was his reason why he could be a priest under the Order of Milchezadek? Was was David’s connection to Michezadek or the Order?

Mel was both the King and the Priest of Jerusalem (Salem)
In the book of Jashar, Mel is said to be Shem, son of Noah.
So David, now King, residing in Jerusalem, adopts Shem’s position, and is thus, both King and Priest of Jerusalem.
Fast forward to Jesus, Jesus Christ was condemned for being King of the Jews, nailed on his cross at Jerusalem, making Him King and Priest, in the order of Shem.

Didn't David go against the command of God that the priestly office is privilege only to the line of Aaron? Being a king in Salem doesn't give him permission to resurrect another priestly (albeit more ancient) tradition. Where in the Old Testament whereby God is alright with it ?

One of King David's descendants did give sacrifice and was told not to by the priests, later he became ill from this as a punishment. I forget this descendants name, he actually was one of the good descendants. So why was he punished?
King Uzziah entered the Temple to burn incense. Only Levitical priests could enter the Temple.

Nearly all adult Mormon men you meet in person have what's called the "Melchizedek Priesthood", this includes *all* of those Mormon missionary "elders" on the street; they were granted it prior to their temple initiations and then serving on the streets.

can we say that the catholic church has the unbroken line of priesthood that dates all the way back to Jesus and further back to David and even further back to Melchizedek? Or are we saying that only the catholic church lays the claim that it continues this tradition from Melchizedek?

The Melchizedek priesthood is forever. This means a man living currently is a priest in the manner of Melchizedek. He was baptized in spirit and fire(which I never hear anyone speak about for some reason). This man bears identifying marks that only a spirit anointed man can bear.

Jesus mentions this in Luke 11, I believe. He uses this story to confound the Pharisees' man-made interpretations of the Torah. It's a lesson in exposing doctrinal hypocrisy. A lesson in righteousness!
David went and ate the bread because he was desperate. According to the Law of the time, David has no right to the dedicated bread. He even lied to the priest. Jesus draw to this episode because the Pharisees picked on His disciples but forgot what their esteemed David did ten centuries before.
So Jerusalem is derived from the word Salem
This person said psalm 110 is the only scripture that brings out Melchizedek in the old Testament. See Genesis 14:18.
Now we who are in Christ are a royal priesthood of believers with Jesus Christ the Great High Priest forever and no no longer need for the temple priests. As St. Peter tells us in 1 Peter 2: 4-10.that we are now to be living stones of the spiritual temple and to be a royal priesthood and holy people. How do we enter this family of believers? We all have to do business directly with Jesus by calling on Jesus to rescue us from the kingdom of darkness and bring us into Jesus kingdom Colossians 1:13 John 1:12. The temple priesthood and the altar and temple worship ended at Jesus death or Christ our Passover Lamb has been sacrificed or by one sacrifice we have perfected forever Hebrews 10:14. 1 Corinthians 5:7. No more sacrifices or priests but we have Jesus our Great High Priest forever as our only mediator 1 Timothy 2:4;5

Bastardy, as a legal term, designates the civil condition of a child born under illegitimate circumstances. Under English common law, children born out of lawful wedlock were classed as bastards. In the eyes of the law they had no parents, no kindred, and no ancestors. I wonder if this same designation applies to Melchizedek? The author of Hebrew 7:3 affirms of Melchizedek: "He is without father or mother or genealogy; he has neither beginning of days nor end of life . . .

God's prophecy of this Melchisedec order was to His Only Begotten Son Psalms 110:1&4.
God's prophecy in Psalms 2:7 concerning Messiah the begotten Son is taught by the Apostles in Acts 13:33-34. Begotten Son's meaning is Son raised from the dead.

Sir you have misunderstood this psalm.
Yahshua has made all believers a priest in the Melchizedek order, not just the 12 disciples. See Rev. 1:6 and 1 Peter 2:9. It was always the Father’s plan to have a nation of priests. See Ex. 19:6.
Did you know that there's only one type of person that will avoid tasting the second death? Those who are killed for the word of God and bear the testimony of Jesus Christ which is prophecy. They will not taste the second death and they will reign with Christ for a thousand years and after the thousand years the rest of the Dead will be resurrected. Heaven isn't in some other dimension somewhere it's in the future.

This is only scratching the surface...Do you know that those who are chosen to be in the holy priesthood of Malkitzedeq (meaning King of Righteousness) live according to Scriptures and no longer sin, for the very word "righteousness" means to do what is right & therefore do not sin! as Scriptures tell us (see 1John3:7-10). In fact, Scriptures tell us that our Heavenly Father sent His Son into this evil world so that all who believe in Him shall not die but reborn & become His children (John 1), who no longer sin...only the children of the devil sin!!! (1John3:7-9). Although this truth is repeated throughout Scriptures, 1John 3:7-10 is the most clear and direct:

So which one of you love the Truth so you might be saved? For no one can enter Heaven without loving & knowing the Truth (John 14), for Scriptures tell us that this world belongs to Satan the Devil who rule & control this world!!! Now who ordained the Lord Jesus? An angel? It must have been the Father, His Heavenly Father, as Jezus was His only begotten son. Who else could you imagine? There was nobody around with that authority at the time. But actually this Melchizedek Priesthood is only a nickname; its real title is Priesthood after the Order of the Son of God. Later it was called the Priesthood after the order of Enoch, and after that after the order of Melchizedek.
You could read about is in the the book called Doctrine and Covenants, a latter day scripture issued by the Mormon Church. You should read it, is my advise. Good luck to you all.

It is the most terrible tragedy of the entire Church, all over the world, by all of the Christians; that all of the parishioners, don't say Mass for themselves and families and clergy.
I'm not ordained by human hands, but trust me in this, I'm Very Very Very Ordained.
I taught two protestants how to say Mass in minutes. I told them that I would prove to them that this works, and at 12 PM tomorrow, they would feel a buzzing sensation going through them. "That will be God going through them as I say Mass for them at 12PM," I told them.
Exact at 11:55 AM the next day, I felt a buzzing sensation going through my body, like someone was saying Mass for me.
They were just believing protestants and unordained, uneducated, and believers in Jesus, Our Lord and Savior. That is all, One male and One female.
About 12 years ago, I said Mass for myself, and asked God to give me the knowledge of the future. About 9 years ago, I looked right into the future to see Obama win his election by 281 electoral college votes, "three days," before the voting took place.
I immediately spread it all over Twitter and sent tweets off to Nancy Pelosi, MSNBC News, Kelly O'Donnell, Obama about seeing the final vote of 281; and the tweets are still on Twitter under Gary James Shields, on that time line spoken about above.

Hello friends, I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The verses above are the first three verses in The Book of Mormon. I know this probably isn't the most ideal place to talk about religion but I really do want you to know that God loves you. You may not love Him or care about Him at all, but He still will continue to love you. You are a beloved son or daughter of God. He knows you personally and He truly and deeply desires for your happiness. He loves everyone who has every lived on this earth, with a perfect equal love regardless of their race, gender, ethnicity, faith and values and beliefs. The Lord loves you more than you can think or comprehend. "He inviteth them all to come unto him and partake of his goodness; and he denieth none that come unto him, black and white, bond and free, male and female; and he remembereth the heathen; and all are alike unto God, both Jew and Gentile" 2 Nephi. He is our loving Heavenly Father. We are literally His children and creations. When we were in the womb, he knew about us" Jerimiah 4:5. He knitted us and we were created in His image.
I testify to you that you and I are not a mistake. He knows the very moment when we stand and when we sit. He is familiar with all our ways and knows us personally who we are. The hairs on our very head are numbered. God loved us so much, He sent His Only Begotten Son for us, that we may be able to return and dwell in the presence of God again. Remember my friends that God loves you with all his heart, might mind, soul and strength. He wants you to be happy. He knows what you are going through and dealing with right now. He desires for you to return back to Him. Unfortunately, He has been misrepresented and seen as a cruel and angry God who anticipates for us to slip and writes down every mistake we make waiting to punish us by those who do not know or know Him fully.
My friends, God has stored many opportunities and blessings for you. He is very eager and desires with all His heart to bless you abundantly. He wants you to live with Him again. He wants to experience everlasting joy and indescribable happiness in this life and in the life to come. He wants you to partake of His goodness and come and follow Him. The Lord does not care how early or late you decide to come unto Him. I testify to you that if you have strayed and wondered off the path that there is hope in Jesus Christ, The Savior of the world. The Lord accepts those who come unto Him whether your early, late or just in time who desire to change. The Lord will accept you wholeheartedly and forgive you if you are willing to change. Remember that The Lord is always available to talk to through prayer 24/7. No question sounds too silly for Him. James wrote, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him" James 1:5. If you must know whether or not something is true or evil and deceptive, you can always pray to God. He will help you know what is true and what is not true. He will never be too busy to talk to. He will give you strength you need to overcome your temptations and will give you the strength you need to endure through your trials and afflictions. Paul said that He will not give you temptations that you cannot resist, but that in your temptations, He will provide a way for you to resist and overcome them. He will provide a way. He wants to bless you and reward you abundantly. The Lord knows you and will not forget you. You are loved. You are utterly amazing. You are not forgotten or ever will be forsaken. You are special. You have been reserved for this time and The Lord needs you on His side.

1. Melchizedek, who's hard to explain
(Heb 5:11)
2. Natural and Spiritual Melchizedek.
In old testament times when all priests blessed with animal sacrifice, Melchizedek the high priest, blessed Abraham with bread and wine.
(Ge 14:18-20).
Jesus Christ the highest priest of all, did exactly the same
(Mt 26:26-28)
Apostle Paul's Testimony
(Heb 5:8-10)
Then what is difficult to explain ??
3. Points hard to explain.
The difficult points.
(Heb 7:1-3)
Jesus had genealogy (Matt 1:1)
and had parents who had faith in truth .(Matt 12:50)
And is God almighty. (Jn 10:30)
Thus, St Paul is NOT telling about the 1st coming, but the SECOND coming Christ.
4. We can recognise 2nd coming Christ if he fulfils the following. (Heb 7:3)
a). Must have no genealogy in Israel unlike 1st coming.
b). Must not have parents in faith, I,e,. They must be gentiles.
c). Must bless with bread and wine like 1st coming as prophecied in (Isa 25:6-9)
d) Must be God Almighty.

e) Christ forever

The one who fulfils all these prophecies and conditions is Our Father, the second coming Christ and he's the high priest in the order of Melchizedek.
