brought back many memories 17-18 time to bottom 3 r2r but never in a day will do a couple of more times. I am in mid 70s and want to do at 80 with last grandchild thanks for re inspiriting me
Your videos are such an inspiration for me Jamil, Im 59 and have been picking up my trail running game with your help. Probably never do what you all do distance wise but still great content that motivates!
Such amazing country! Hope to run the R2R2R one day soon! Thanks for sharing this video and taking us along with you on the journey. Truly inspiring and motivating!
Excellent video and great camera work, as always. I have enjoyed many of your videos, including the ones about Mike's FKT AZTrail. Thanks for posting...and see you again next year at the 2nd Annual Whiskey Basin Ultra!
Man I love this video, watched it a ton and just keep coming back. For everyone else trying to figure out the songs.... Color wheel by oomiee Some kind of magic by off the world
The part you guys were going up at 8 min into the video - I have run this. Super fun going down to the Village or whatever it was called but then turning around and running up was so brutal. I had to walk at a few parts b/c the steps are so big and the climb seems to never end.
I’ve ran this in parts with Tommy Rivs virtually. I wish they’d make it one long run since I can’t see any time I’m actually going to get to do it in real life
Hey Jamil great video!! Am an absolute beginner when it comes to running but am fascinated by ultrarunning and the ultra culture. How do u guys train other than long distance running, do u cross train? What is ur diet like? Are u on the go most days? Please make a video shdding some light on the training methods would be extremely interesting to watch. Thank you!!
I know This may not get answered because it is quite an old video but what all is consumed on the trail when you guys are running at distances like this and in the time frame? Surly not just water and Granola bars ?
Take a look at the video of our R2R from early in August. I detail in description and in the video what we take. This was our 5th in a row, and we've been backpacking and running in the canyon since 2007. czcams.com/video/sr8j5p3GQJs/video.html What you will ultimately take will depend on what you're doing. Are you running it, run/walking it like you see them do here and in other R2R2R's, are you through hiking it in one day, or are you going down for more than one day. The faster you're traveling, the lighter you'll want to be, so your gear and food/drink will respond accordingly. You won't be drinking straight water. You'll be drinking some sort of quality electrolyte mix. And as far as actual "eating" goes, the faster you're traveling and hence the more excursion, the less you'll feel like, or want to, eat actual food. You simply won't want anything sitting in your stomach, because it won't be digested and lead to nausea and vomiting. At slower speeds, of course you'll want to, and feel like, eating. Hope this helps.
Mules have the right of way on those trails. Between people, etiquette on any trail is usually to yield to the uphill person regardless if they’re walking, hiking, or running.
i cant watch anything with wimpy music like this, cause i watch outside while i workout and then the neighbors are gng to be like "wtf is he listening to".

Nice to re-live NK and SK. Makes me want to go back right now. 5.5 hrs in the middle of doing the AZT is awesome.

Phoenix runner gearing up for another rim crossing in October and possibly Javelina Jundred. Love the video and song. Who is the track by?
During 6:44-7:00 what was the conversation (some concern maybe?), about stopping at that location? Great video...views and running!
Michael was a little delirious and didn't believe we were at Phantom Ranch.
It was a really interesting video until the abrupt end. Did y’all make it to the end?

i'd like to know the name of both actually!
Great video! What kind of shoes do you wear for the Grand Canyon rim to rim?
