Yamaha has been gaining a lot of attention in recent years with guitars. They always produced good instruments and highend stuff. This is not something new, but what is new is how people are starting to realize that Yamaha is more than what they thought they were. I have been a Yamaha fan for a long time, and I am not worried about the price of the guitars they are producing as they compete very well, and many cases can exceed gear from other brands that a large portion of the guitar player population feel is best. Yamaha have been bringing it to the table for a long time, and they are taking things further than they ever have before.....great gear is not cheap, but also dont have to be super expensive either. I think Yamaha is pricing their gear appropriately!

Some of the nicest guitars I've played all year, and it's only January 😆🔥🔥

Yamaha has always made excellent guitars but for some reason north America isn't aware of that. Hopefully these get the respect over here. I like the fact that every position is clear and has no dead zones. I'm not into playing chords with cool notes only to hear some being masked by other strings. I want to hear all of it. Innovation is great , the other option is continue to regurgitate the same old and rely on voodoo and marketing. Time for people to wake up, yamaha is the largest musical instrument manufacturer and always moving forward for the better of the instrument.

They just bought guild too, so I'm eager to see what new stuff comes from that marriage.

I have only good experiences with Yamaha instruments which may be luck but I believe they make quality drums and guitars.

While I don't have a new one, I have an older Pacifica that I wouldn't trade for anything. I'm looking into a new one in the future, though. I also have a few of the THR amps as well - Yamaha just makes great gear overall. My Pacifica has been the most trouble free guitar in my collection, and I can always rely on it when I pick it up. It's the dark burst, much like SRV's "number one." Anyone that looks at my collection points it out right away and says "Man, that's a beautiful guitar!"

Nice review! I would just like to point out there are absolutely not the first pacifica having compound radius: 912j, 904 have them too. And they are both amazing! Can't wait to try the new ones out

Great review. The variety of styles really highlighted what these beauties can do. Great chops, great tones. That pacifica beach burst is gorgeous. Oh yes, it will be mine.. (insert Homer Simpson drool sound here)

I have huge respect for Yamaha’s products. They are all excellent quality at an unbeatable price. For Les pauls/ Gibson style tone, get the RSS20. The cheaper pacificas are incredible and the Yamaha BB basses have incredible tone.

Where are they made? I seen the pre order on the + models are $1300 which is a but high when the the seymour duncan loaded models are half the price

The standard is from Indonesia and the pro is from Japan. I don’t know why you are putting some premium on Seymour Duncan’s - the Neve pickups in these guitars are amazing. The overall fit and finish will be better too.
I can tell you my Indonesian made revstar is better than my Ibanez AZ and my E-II Horizon and is pretty close to my PRS McCarty S2 - which is annoying because it’s half to 1/3rd the price of those guitars.

I dig this and would like to get one but the clean sounds a little limp to me. So I'm not sure about the pickups

So I wasn't the only one wondering about the pickups. To my ears these singlecoils lack that traditional "stratty" sound. No spanky, snappy twang.

Is it just me, or do these singlecoils not sound like singlecoils at all?

Слишком дорого, неоправданно высокая стоимость. За эти деньги я лучше возьму что то покрасивее и круче, тот же esp, ltd, shecter, solar и т.д. ямахе нужно быть скромнее с таким то дизайном для дедушек.
