Just did mine today for the second time. But rather than against the glass, I aggressively dragged the magnets on top of the cluster panels. The needle swept right around and back into position. Magnets are definitely the best and cheapest solution to this issue. I only used two square ceramic ones from Lowe's.
Worked like a charm! Used the magnet from an old speaker and it was plenty strong enough to move the needle. Just wondering how long the fix will work or if I'll have to do this periodically? Thanks for posting!
my 99 Oldsmobile Intrigue after jumping it the needles jumped over the Stop Bar on the fuel gauge I took a hot needle poked a hole through the plastic instrument panel screen and then took the same needle cooled off and move the needle
