    Also I wanted to send my sincere and deepest appreciation for you taking the time to share your modelling skills with the rest of the world. I have recently returned to modelling after about a 15 year hiatus to raise a family and your techniques have really helped me get back into this wonderful hobby. Thank you, David! :)

    Your attention to detail is always amazing and awe-inspiring; if someone were to simply show me a photograph of this, with no context and no knowledge that it's a model kit, I would honestly think I was looking at a real, life-scale tank. You're truly a master of your craft.

    Dear David, many thanks for sharing your master modelling techniques for us. I am 47 years old and build plastic models since I was 10. Life (one wife and three daughters), study (I am an aeronautical engineer), work (to earn my living I usually spent more than 70 hours a week at office) and other hobbies (wargaming, running, cycling) kept me too often away from the modelling bench but thanks to yours videos recently I found the inspiration to build more and trying to imitate you is really a strong inspiration to try being a better modeller. Thanks again and keep going with your channel!

      Even the greatest artists had to start from somewhere.
      By learning form the greats, you can learn faster than struggling alone.
      And yes even the greatest artists can be unhappy with their own work.
      Learning to move onto the next project can be the hardest thing to learn in art.

    The quality of your videos are great, it's like seeing it through your eyes while you build it. The tempo and time on each step is well balanced, not to much and not to little. It almost feels unedited as we're not missing anything but not like other builders where you watch them for 5 min while gluing two pieces.

    @robjohnson1138 Před 6 lety +1

    I love the additional scratch-built details. Whenever I try that, I keep "going down the rabbit hole" trying to make smaller and smaller details - then possibly not finish the model. Another beautiful work of art. I really enjoy your channel.

  • @malaudisa
    @malaudisa Před 6 lety

    Beautifully done, a master modeller... Seems like the drybrushing technique from my modelling days is no longer much in use... I'd use a soft flat brush, dip it in a bit of lighter shade paint, wiped the brush on paper towel several times, and then rubbed it against the raised surface details (like armor plate joints, rivets, handles, etc.) so that the pigments would get picked up by any relief detail... it created a very nice effect by bringing the raised detail into contrast, it was extensively praticed by Belgian modeller Verlinden. I've seen on CZcams that this technique has gone into disuse and I wonder why, as I thought it was quite effective and simple.

    • @ScottKenny1978
      @ScottKenny1978 Před 4 lety

      Depends on the modeler.
      I still use it for figures, but not very often on vehicles. Too easy to get streaks and a grainy finish.
