I have no use for a tractor, but I want one. My grandfather put me on his Ford 8N and thats a memory I've never forgotten.

Its a SERIOUS shame her husband passed i wished i knew or heard about their collection long ago cause i would happily fly across the US too just view that collection. I personally have an 801 Select O Speed and would love too restore it too similar condition of these tractors. Looked through the Ford catalog from back when and seen the high crop and boom i see this video and boom theres a high crop how cool.

A little nerve wracking hearing them talk about how the Fordson Majors were tougher to get running and them having everything “backwards”…. Just bought my first antique tractor at 26 (so not much experience behind the belt) which was a Fordson major and I’m currently getting the engine unseized so now I know what to expect afterwards 😭

Great vid love the collections. I think her name is Linda. Linda, Linda, Linda, Linda. A little game I play when watching these vids to see if I can count all the times I hear their name mentioned. When I was a kid my favorite Ford was the big Iron 9000. It was quite the monster for a little tyke like me at 5 years old.

Don't understand why you don't see that many fords in America.. In Europe there everywhere, especially Uk and Ireland.. I would have thought back in the day they were every bit and if not better some of the times against the likes of a Deere or International.. Was it limited parts availability or something ?

Ford had semi equal market share footing through the 1950's, but 1960's on....got lapped. Deere dealer network and 10, 20, 30, 40 Series tractors changed the game

Them 6000s were a gutless tractor.. No power, no traction. Some say the older Super Major was still better.. They were a flop in the UK. The turbo charged 7000 was a massive improvement over it.
