Idk if you did it on purpose, but i like the fact that you use each type of bullet for each canon user (Matsunaga/Mine, Kazuuji/Grenade, Magoichi/Shotgun) to showcase their exclusive moveset.

Zhou Tai is still my fav amongs all the Katana wielders in Warriors series games. He has that moveset that I always spam (similar to Mitsuhide's Exclusive Ultimate here), that release multiple pink'ish or bright red slashes in a wide arc. Plus he's an outright Samurai guy.

I like his moves as well but dislike the dude as much as I dislike Orlando Bloom for his coward kill on Achilles in Troy. Either way I'm just glad that Hideyoshi and Ieyasu was the one to complete Nobunaga's dream.

Some interesting things about the characters:
Oda Nobunaga's Odachi moveset, beyond making the the flames of Adult Nobunaga purple as if he channels hellfire, also upgrades his C2 when he becomes adult; instead of the single line of flame, he fires three lines, upgrading it to a conal area of effect.
Takeda Shingen's C3 self-buffs him with the fire effect; a good indicator of how up-close-and-personal he gets compared to the other two Great Spear users whose unique moves feature at least one long-range projectile attack.
Most characters usually have one of either their C2, C3, or C4 as their first unique charge attack, and then their C5-latter charge attack as their second unique charge attack, with outliers having an aerial charge as their first unique charge attack and one Spear user having a Horse charge attack in place of a C5-or-latter charge attack (which thematically fits as the Spear has a more realized horse moveset compared to other weapons). Uesugi Kenshin is the only known outlier who bucks the trend on this; as his unique charge attacks are his C2 and his C4.
Oichi and Kuroda Kanbei's unique charge attacks and specials ensure that that both have one early charge to summon a specific shikigami, an Ultimate that summons a different shikigami, with their unique late charge attack that consumes the leftover shikigami that they do not summon using either of their previous unique attacks. This helps encourage the use of all three Shikigami, both to summon them and to use them as fuel for their latter attacks.
The unique charge attacks of the Gauntlet can only be accessed when Mitsuki or Yasuke are enhanced to access the upgraded variants of the Gauntlet charge attacks.
The unique C5 for the gun users change slightly according to the type of ammunition you're currently using, while keeping the overall character of the move (i.e. Matsunaga still throws bombs with his C5 if he uses cannonballs instead of mines, but they now explode upon contact, and Nakamura will dual wield hand cannons to fire mines or firework blasts for his C5 if you've set those as his ammunition before using his C5).
As various weapons encourage certain playstyles, a given character's unique moves can be used to make them further specialize in the weapon's playstyle or branch them off a little into becoming a more versatile combatant. The Spear, as an example, heavily encourages that the user fight on a horse, and Katsuie Shibata having his latter unique charge attack unlock as part of the Spear's horse moveset gives him further specialization within that niché as Saito Toshimitsu, who unlocks both of his unique charge attacks in the conventional Spear moveset, is better able to fight without the need of a horse.
In summary, this game is awesome as hell
Hanzo also has a secondary aerial attack, that I thought was unique. X, S, T, he basically turns into a flaming bird of prey for a second.

I think this is the same like dynasty warriors 6. I Just dont understand why they have a lot of characters if the weapon they use are the same. They should do like samurai warriors 1. All 15 have unique weapon.

So the differences between each clones are a 2-3 combos, musou attack and art musou
Still better than DW9 tho.
Just like Dynasty Warriors 7, where the only differences between clones is a combo attack and 2 musou attacks (normal and air musou).

they made SW5 oda-focused and a reboot similar to SW1 so like in SW1 the Hojo are not present nor relevant in the story. They mentioned if SW5 does well, SW6 would be Hideyoshi focused and from there we would likely see the return of most the cast like the Hojo, Shimazu, Chosokabe, Tachibana, etc. I know quite a bit of people are missing the chaotic ninja, but most likely would fit in a post-Nobunaga setting to take advantage of the situation.

Still not a fan of shared weapons and nearly identical movesets amongst the characters. They should've kept the combat system of SW4.
Then theres no point of trying new things out I think the gameplay is great SW4 will always be better but this one is fun too
@@RandyOrtega1225 But we shouldn't be innovative just for the sake of being innovative. The combat of SW has always been fun, and SW4 toppled all its predecessors by introducing the Hyper Moveset, and improving the potency and aesthetics of Musou Gokui.
Whilst SW5 did try to improve the battle system by adding more Charge attack and Special moves, the changes are hardly memorable due to the replicated moveset. Heck, even the Hyper Moveset is not that fun anymore in SW5. (Where's the Charge attack for Hyper Moveset?)
I want to feel unstoppable as Tadakatsu with his wide-ranged and destructive attack; I want to feel the sinister enigma as Nobunaga with his dark force; I want to feel the unwavering composure as Mitsuhide with his pristine swordplay; I want to feel the sadistic elegance as Nō with her lethal cuts and explosion. SW5 just threw all these unique characteristics out of the window by lumping every weapon together; the same fatal mistake made by DW9.
Revamping the character's models and background story is fine by me. Hell, even changing everyone's weapon altogether is okay too, as long as the weapons remain unique to the characters. To me, it's never justifiable to forsake things that make the game so unique in the first place, which is the combat system.
@@chrishawkev1809 didn't DW characters get their personalized weapon while still retaining the ability to use other weapons on the updated version/next installment to reduce clones?
I remember Sima Shi's main weapon was rapier the first time the shared moveset was implemented, but then he got his own lightning blade on the next installment. Same goes with Zhao Yun who gets his Dragon spear after using regular spear in the previous installment.
I think SW is going to follow that same path.
I do understand why some people doesn't like this shared moveset system, but at the same time, it kinda gives players the ability to use a certain weapon they like on a character with a design they like. It also allows characters with bad weapon moveset (the original Noh and Hanzo on higher difficulty for instance, or zhuge liang from SW counterpart) to see use by using the moveset of other weapon instead. The system has drawbacks like you said, sure, but it's not without merits.
@@spearsage The reason DW had duplicated moveset (characters such as Cao Cao, Liu Bei, Sun Quan/Sima Yi and Zhuge Liang/Xiao Qiao and Da Qiao in DW2 - DW5), I presume, was that the roster was still expanding, and that they were still trying to improve and perfect the existing battle system, on a console with very limited technical capacity (PS2). It may just be my conjecture, but it does make sense if you think about the drastic changes they implemented after the heavily lambasted Chain Combo in DW6; they reverted to its original root in DW7, and then further improved again in DW8 by introducing more weapon choices and improving system's stability.
Sure, shared-weapon feature still existed in both games, but all characters were given default weapon that are unique and personalised to them, as you aptly put. That means while anyone can equip any weapon as they please, some weapon choice would look absurd, or even outlandish, on certain characters (For instance Xiao Qiao with Lu Bu's Halberd). With the liberty to use any weapon one likes, while retaining the quirks of each character, the battle system was nearly perfect in DW8.
While DW9 inherited the same weapon feature, they removed a huge number of weapons that make a character unique. For instance they removed Zuo Ci's Talisman Cards and Pang Tong's Shadow Fan, then lumped them all together with Zhang Jiao. Consequently, both Zuo Ci and Pang Tong lost their uniqueness, making the Staff's moveset look extremely bland.
The same goes with SW5 - Whilst players are given the freedom to select any weapon they prefer, the moveset suffers from the lack of identity. Take Hisahide and Magoichi in SW5 as an example. Apart from their unique Charge moves, do their movesets exude any personal traits? In SW4, Hisahide is portrayed as an eccentric and vengeful person, which is why his moveset involves lots of wild slashing and explosion. (Also the spiders in his charge attack resembles his heirloom, Hiragumo Kettle). Magoichi, on the other hand, is portrayed as a flirtatious man who likes to show off, ergo his occasional posing at the end of his offence. Playing as them feels different!
Perhaps it is as you said, that KT are rebuilding the weapon system, and that they'll improve it in the next sequels or DLCs. Still, that's going to take quite awhile. The fact that they decided to scrap all the good stuffs in SW4 (rich weapon varieties and already well-established moveset), while introducing a new weapon set that are nondescript shall forever remain an unresolved mystery to me.

Honestly dw8 was the last musou series I touched since like years (while I never really played SW4 myself). Meanwhile I only know about DW9 from a short video showcasing Sima Shi's R abilities. Since he still had his lightning blade, I just assumed that nothing else was changed.
So they reverted back to 7 instead..
But I suppose this pattern has always plagued musou series whenever they move to a newer console...
We can only wait.

I usually don't care about clone characters, but this is crazy. two people sharing the same move list is not that bad - but to have three or four characters sharing the same move list is very lazy. we take Sengoku Basara for granted... we really do.
I think people forget this is how Koei has done the musou games since the beginning. Starting with Dynasty Warriors 2 there were still characters with clones movesets in Dynasty Warriors 5. 6 threw everything out, and while everyone loved DW7, since it was using a new engine, they had to start from scratch and they had several clones in it as well. It takes them several games before they decloned people. If you're lucky they'll do it with an update or an XL version.
@@AlexTheSoutherner That's true. but the roster size in dynasty warriors is pretty massive - so clone characters didn't really stand out that much with EX moves and what not. now a small roster size of 27 characters - where three to four characters are using the same weapon is very obvious. tadakatsu, toshiie, shingen - "spear" move set. magoichi, hisahide, kajuuji - gun move set. mitsuhide, nagamasa, takakage - sheath sword move set. mind you, these characters had their own "unique" move sets since SW 1 all the way to SW4.
@@glitch-mode2268 Dynasty Warriors roster size wasn't very big starting in 2. And Cao Cao, Liu Bei, Sun Jian, and Sun Quan all had a cloned sword moveset that didn't see them all fully unique until DW8. DW6 and 7 then cloned again on a different engine.
