    I just installed my kit...what sold me was the video where the test bike was dropped and the saddlebag protection looked scratched...but it just wiped away and looked undamaged...the kit was easily installed and looks good on a white wing.
    I really appreciate the effort that Traxxion made to produce a high quialty product like this for our Gold Wing

    It frustrates me when morons ask stupid questions without forethought. Max your company provides a GREAT product. GREAT products are not inexpensive but they ARE of SUPERIOR quality. If people in these forums want cheap and inexpensive parts maybe they should purchase Huffys instead of Goldwings. Keep up the great work. You should never have to explain your costs.

      Unfortunately you can't ask anything but a stupid question (as you call it) if you don't understand how to even create the proper question without the supporting information to correctly formulate the idea that is being questioned. Creating anything goes through the stupid question process until a better shaped question is created in the mind to further the process.
      That being said, Max is one of those creative people that has struggled through the process and has the connections in the business world to create great products for all of us. Thanks Max for all the great innovative works you do!

    This type of explanation is always interesting. Since shop classes in high school more than 50 years ago, I have always been intrigued by machines and how parts are manufactured. I loved putting things like this together with what I did in IT. I actually got to work with engineers and architects when we got our first 3D printer, a pretty amazing process to render a drawing and get it to a 3D printer.

      @@TraxxionI just finished the left side which I wanted to do first since this is the kickstand side which aims down away from site.
      I first used painters tape identify the bag location so I can cut away the paint-film coating I applied. This also gave me the straight line that helped for my final application. I forgot to drop the tail section below the crown just centering the bumper on the crown straight. Now the mirror went on centered too. I need to make a decision for the right mirror to make a equal space along the top of the tail section which would be seen more. Folded back and centered I noticed a different gap along the top.

    While I watch Max explain this amazing process, I’m reminded of the trip my parents took us onto China in 1983. We flew a DC3 Gooney Bird from the Beijing airport to the capital of Inner Mongolia. At that time, there was not a single privately owned vehicle on the streets. Every street corner was like the beginning of the Tour de France with hundreds of people on bicycles.
    What I find astonishing is, since that time, that both the private sector and ultimately our national trade policies allowed the near total destruction of all US based manufacturing.
    I’m an IT and real estate entrepreneur and not a big government guy. But National Industrial policies that protect our industries are absolutely what we needed then and what we need now. Shame on the private sector leaders to have not been able to make the right decision and off shored all their manufacturing. If they do that - we should tax them to death. Maybe then they will realize that young men need alternative employment besides a 4 year degree and the debt that entails. Not everyone wants to sit in front of a screen and become a “knowledge worker”!
    I live in a historic neighborhood in a 110 year old Arts and Crafts home. The Crafts piece of that phrase is a shortening of “Craftsman”. We had it in the US 100 years ago and we have come very, very, very close to losing it. But as Warren Buffet says, “it’s never a good idea to bet against the US”!
    As much as their is to be pessimistic about our country’s direction, just ask 1000 random immigrants where they would like to go and I will bet my life on the fact that NONE of them will select Iran ( where I was born ), China or Russia!
    It’s the amazing concept of FREEDOM which becomes all too familiar and mundane unless you really make an effort to remind yourself just how INCREDIBLE it is. We have it in spades in the US and man o man am I grateful my parents left Iran in the late ‘50s to come to the US.

    • @Traxxion
      @Traxxion  Před 8 měsíci +1

      What a tremendous story! "Freedom isn't Free"... Americans now think it is simply an entitlement... and they don't value it. I love when an immigrant speaks so passionately about the value of freedom. Americans need to be constantly reminded.

    I think what may be lacking here by some is an understanding of market demand and economies of scale. Hopefully, your demonstration opened some minds.
    Honda produces at least 10 times the amount of Civics that they do Goldwings. However, a Goldwing and a Civic sell for around the same price even though the Civic has more materials features and labor baked into it as well as engineering costs. The reason they can do this is that they can spread the cost of the engineering over far more units, as well as other models that share parts thus lowering the unit price. Think about it, If Honda only made about 10,000 Civics a year, they would cost a lot more than they do and so would the aftermarket parts for them.

I invented a product for Harley dressers that made substantial profit after investment for 5 years. Had I went through the patent process is would have been a far less lucrative investment and I would have had to charge more than the product was worth.These days its a gamble at best..Yes someone took my product got a patent and sent me a letter to stop selling or be sued ... Then I find out people are shocked by the price, which came my point: "What did you think it was going to cost?" Just Honda's two bars that don't work cost $500.

    Btw, now that you have all process steps and necessary vendors and service provider relationships defined for these products, can you offer similar products for other high-end bikes like BMW, Harley, Suzuki, Yamaha, KTM and bikes that use expensive add-on cases like Givi bags? Obviously, you have to do the measuring and texture selection which is an extra cost. That would hugely expand your potential market and the marginal and per unit costs should go down considerably

    • @Traxxion
      @Traxxion  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Unfortunately, each of those processes is the same, and the cost is the same, short of finding the right adhesives. Every set of molds is $50+K.
      The only way for cost to go down is to sell thousands and thousands, not hundreds. Every time you make another run, the cost of the development gets spread out.

    Hi Max, I own and run a successful injection moulding and toolmaking business in the U.K.
    Your moulds are probably 1+1 injection moulding tools that run a pair at a time left and right. The shut off faces will be flat, I can see this by the mirror protection piece being flat before getting applied. If they are made from thermoplastic rubber you should have a UV stabiliser added or they will turn light grey over time. If you really want them to last they would be made from an injection moulding grade of polyurethane. Your costs are way over inflated in your video and the tooling dimensions are exaggerated too. Both these parts would run on a 150T easily which isn’t that big. I would have some sympathy for your costs and outlay but when exaggerating as you do I’m afraid can’t.
    I accept you will delete this comment.
    Your passion is unquestionable but please be truthful.

    • @stanleysmith8922
      @stanleysmith8922 Před 8 měsíci +3

      Well Steven even if the whole process only cost half as much as Max said and the time was half it is still a lot of money and time to come up with a product for that amount of money that is protecting the price of the replacement bike parts and that’s not including labor cost, I have a fellow rider with the same 2021 GW tour as I have and it has been dropped on both sides and I believe he is looking at over $2000. Bucks to fix , so $450 is kinda cheap ? But maybe you know more than I do about it send me a video on the one your making and maybe I’ll buy yours at half the price?
