This video appears to have been filmed in the morning, In the meantime I was just born... it's my life
I was on the airfield that day, driving the RAF photographer about in the
BCU vehicle.
It was a nice gesture by the guys, to put on such a show for all at Coningsby.
It doesn't seem to happen that often these days. Does it No.6? : )
Shortly after 56 departed north, a Typhoon made a very slow ( almost stall ) flyby
We look and wait for the 'Phoenix Rising'
Another great vid. jnf
👍📡
I'd left the royal air force then worked for mpiavatoin at coninsby. F3s left early morning for the typhoons to land at 11 o'clock that day the black knights I was asked to sew on badges to their flying suits that afternoon for the aircrew memories
Far more impressive take offs than the typhoons now based there.Sadly the F3 is a rare sight these days.
What?
@@anglonig1 What do you mean 'what' ?
They still store the f3 in the hanger and run down the runway occasionally.
Most of them have been "Reduced to Produce" in other words:Scrapped. Some are at museums and two or three are in private hands, including the TIARA wich was the last ADV to fly in 2011.
I found an F3 in a scrapyard in Ripon six or seven years ago. Ironically there were signs advertising " Operation Tornado" in the yard. Operation Tornado was a police crackdown on illegal scrap metal thieves. I used to live ten miles south of Coningsby and that week I was busy doing gas engineer exams....blimey, it's nearly 20 years ago now 😨
Does anybody have a full log from that date?
