I saw how the dancers were guiding her, the saddest thing is when this kid gets older she'll have this to haunt her, that will have some major repercussions to her mental health and how dare the producers AGREE to put this child on such a platform Kim and Kanye must've made quite a "donation" to this establishment.

E news should be ashamed of themselves for fabricating "standing ovation". I was at the lion king performance last night. There may have been a few that stood up for North West, but not that I can see. When she was performing I had no idea who this girl was until towards the end my mom told me who she was. Unfortunately, she did not sound very good. I don't want to talk badly since she is so young and it was her first performance, but it's quite clear she was only performing because of her parents influence and she was overshadowed by Jennifer Hudson and the rest of the live performers. To tell you the truth, Jennifer Hudson was outshined by the original Broadway actress, I forgot her name but she had the longest standing ovation of any of the performers at the show.
Heather Headley - that's the actress that you're thinking of. She was the original Adult Nala on the Broadway show. And yeah, North did not sound good. I wasn't at either of the shows as I live in Ohio (I wish I was there, I really love Lion King). But I saw some of the videos, and it's very clear that she couldn't keep up with the rest of the cast. They had a lot of the Broadway/touring cast as part of the show, so it's baffling to me how they didn't get one of the boys who plays Young Simba for the Broadway/touring productions to sing in place of her. It would've been a much better fit.
Same, I was there too. The only people who actually were decent were Headley, Hudson and Nathan Lane because they know how to project from their theatre experience. That was a true standing ovation. NW was the worst, E! is lying.

They couldn't have. North was the hardest performance to watch. They really cherry picked parts of her song to put up here that weren't painfully off key and screechy. I get that she's ten, but put her in a middle school show if you don't want her compared to ten years olds that actually have talent. She bombed. Everyone sitting around me was joking about it the rest of the show. This is a remarkably disingenuous puff piece: "everyone, including West, got a standing ovation at the end of the show." I was there Friday night….there was no standing ovation, very light applause and people very softly talked of how awful it was because she is young. If auditioned, she would have never set foot on stage like that and if she is being told how great she is, reality needs to set in. Her name is what set her on stage. Will give her credit for getting out there, but if she truly has a heart for this, then some quality lessons are in order and proper auditions.
You guys got your facts incorrect. There was no standing ovation, those were people used for the Disney + special. The show I went too, not a lot of people clapped, let alone stood.

This is so unfair to all the truly talented young actors out there that get passed over by a talentless nepo baby.
It’s happening all the time now. People go to acting school etc and here come these kids of so called stars and models or reality stars and they get all the jobs around and half of them aren’t even that special. The ones studying their craft just keep on slogging on for these neo kids to take their jobs. It’s completely unfair and wrong.

It’s her parents telling her how wonderful she is all the time and people on her TikTok page. I thought you had to be older to be on TikTok? I guess money buys everything as we’ve seen by this dreadful performance. A child has to learn they’re not going to be good at everything and they’re not going to win at everything.
There’s a thing with Nepotism, it will not benefit your kid in the long run. This performance makes it clear that she has potential, but if she would have auditioned with 300 kids, she was never going to make it top 20 even. She is their daughter and it is their decision, but they should use their influence to get her the best singer to train her as a singer (basically they could get Mariah to train her voice), the best dancer and choreographer to train her as a dancer, all types of music lessons, acting lessons, etc. that way, when she is 16 and she has such technical skills and she gets on a stage, people wouldn’t have so many resources to bully her about and criticize her about. She would shut their mouth SHOWING them, that she is the best or at least one of the best. And she has charisma I will tell you that, and you can’t buy that. If they train her, she could make it further than nepotism. Just keep her as down to earth as possible (which is very difficult in her environment, but could be done), so she can connect to people and give her the resources to shine… and she can accomplish whatever she wants.

She really honestly can't sing. She's off key, her vocals are flat. She looked lost on the stage. I'm not saying it to be mean. It's my honest opinion as someone who can hear and see. I'm sure she's lovely and bright. She's just not a good singer. That being said, this looked like a fun experience.

With some vocal lessons, it is possible to develop her voice. But like if you don’t make your kid put in the actual work, you’re teaching them mediocrity and nepotism is okay.

I do agree, with a voice like this, she will really have to put in a lot of work to have a semi pleasant singing voice and I don't know that her parents won't just nepo her into the industry.

Not having a natural gift or ability to sing- not an insult. Thousands of children with natural abilities compete for these roles and the roles should be going to the best singers and performers. Was it mean when the other 3,999 children who probably auditioned for this role found out they didn't get it because another child with less experience who can't sing took took it from them sinply because her parents are famous?
My Grandma also said fhe same things yours said, only she told the truth. Because she believed that honesty was the best policy, She said someday everyone will know their purpose and not everyone is good at everything. My father was a superstars leading scorer/leagueMVP professional soccer player. That doesn’t mean I had the skills to also become one just because I was his son. In fact, I suck at soccer. Fortunately, I had honest people in my life to channel me in other directions where I found my true passions.

I have questions. When poor people put their kids to work to help with food or what’s needed that’s against the law but if your rich you can put your kids to work at any age. You can’t work til 15 or 16 years old but yet here are rich kids working full jobs way under age . How does that make sense?

When you’re swimming in money they don’t care about rules. This child is on TikTok, which she’s underage and puts out the most disgusting comments about her own mother and yet nothing is done. It was really bad. I don't want to sound mean, and I'm not gonna give false praise just because she's a 10-year-old kid who belongs to a celebrity, but I have to keep it real. I don't care whose child she is, but when there are kids out there with real talent who work hard honing their craft with dance, singing and acting lessons, not to mention the parents who pay dearly for those lessons, and then the kids have to struggle with auditions in the hopes and dreams of getting a part like that, it’s disturbing that it should go to someone who gets it easily just because of their parent's celebrity and paying dollars for it, or so I’ve heard. Her singing was clearly way off-key and the little I saw/heard; it was disappointing. I think North saw Blue Ivy on stage performing with her mother, Beyonce, and, in her surprise, she said to her mom, “I want to do that too”, and POOF! her parents made it happen for her. Money talks, but boy did they get this one wrong!

I give her credit for getting on the stage. I had no idea who she was but everyone around me thought she was terrible. Her timing was off, she sang off key. her last note was so off key. It was a disappointment. Certainly no standing ovation and very little clapping for her. I wish they used a more talented young boy for the part. The only song sang that night that was a disappointment. The fact that she is getting all the news is also disappointing. They should focus on the amazing other talent on the stage such as Nathan Lane, Jeremy Irons, Leb M, Jennifer Hudson, the original singers from the broadway show. They made this event so special. The hollywood bowl projection mapping was stunning. An event I will long remember.
