This video never gets old for me! I simply love how easy you explain things! I'm doing this same install but with a mod that makes the lights turn on when the tailgate opens, only if it's dark enough! Tried this a few months ago but unfortunately the lights shorted as they weren't fully waterproof. lol Keep up the great content Jesse, you inspire people like me!
Thank you for making it by my channel, Jesse Rizo! Showing you some love with a _full play_ and a big like from Bits of Real Panther! May your day be the best one ever, friend!
Hey Jesse, you should be able to cut those strips in between the led lights to the length you need. Those led lights usually come in big bales from China so they are made for you to cut it the length you want. Watch a video by Trailrecon where he made something very similar for his back rear window of his Jeep. You just need to use the electrical tape to clean up the end you cut to kestrel out. Planning on using this on mod on my truck as well.
I had asked my source at auxbeam they recommended not to do that that’s y I didn’t even mention it but I believe u can but to me it’s fine there functional so I didn’t even mind that little part thanks though my friend :)
Couple things. First off, thanks for the video, making a video while doing this install can't be easy. I did this install with my ram but didn't use the switch, I wired it straight to my cargo lights so they just come on with my cargo lights. If you want to tie hot wire it, you don't need to run it all the way to your battery, you can connect it to your fuse box. Wiring it to the cargo lights makes it so you don't have to run it into your cab at all and you don't have an ugly aftermarket switch in your cab. Also, less exposure for the wires, I think you're okay here but use a solder. They're cheap and you're use to get a secure and safe connection. Either way, thanks for the video. Lights look great.
Jesus man this is one long video but regardless very informative and creative af. That bed lighting could actually be pretty handy when working at night or late and you're haling maybe wood and stuff on the back or maybe even for a late night truck party. Anyways good installation video jesse keep it up man! :)
Couldnt I just plug into the factory wiring underneath the dummy caps for the OEM lighting? That way it’s controlled by the factory door switch and also the bed light switch on the dash.
Ok, loved the video! Great lesson in wiring and pretty well done. Question; why did you run the original led wiring back down the length of the truck bed instead of just running the led strips the opposite direction and having all that wire to run up into the cabin?
Thank you, and because the length of the bed led strips is to long for a 5 foot bed so if I would’ve done it the opposite way the ends of the wires coming out of the led stripped would’ve been exposed in the middle of the bed and would not look good at all so flipping it backwards allowed me to hide the wires if u have a 6 foot bed u don’t have to do it this way since these lights are for a 6 foot bed 👍 I hope that helps
Me: damn this is a good channel, I need to subscribe. Also me: *looks down* oh shit I’m already subscribed. If I could subscribe twice I would. Five thumbs up!

do you need a bigger battery amp wise? cause with all those lights would hate to go out to truck and it not start or something. awesome video as always
I have a question, can you connect it to the rear lights so they light up when you turn your headlights on? also maybe add a on/off switch on the wire next to the led lights so you have the option of driving with it on or off
I wouldn’t doubt it I’ve seen a similar install like that before just you will have to do some splicing I didn’t really want to cut into the wires lol but I’m sure u can 👍
You should have poke it thru the gromet .... Up to the insulation sleeve ....then pop the gromet back into the body cavity hole. Then silicone around the gromet wire hole.
I held off on that for now I’m actually doing a cb install on my truck ;) so that hole ima use to run that wire as well I was going to use silicone once that install is done but great thinking my friend :)!!! Thanks for the tip
This should be title how not to wire..... speaker wire I mean yeah it works but let’s be real use the proper primary wire..... second why cut the connectors off and not use them. Third a coat hanger coke on use something that won’t cause damage use a ac and heater 6 foot cable tie. They don’t damage anything and are flexible that they don’t need much room to get thru. Fourth why not use the cavities in the bed to run the wire properly I mean all you have to do is look for where the factory harness goes.fifth runs wire thru a hole that has an edge then sticks the grommet over it pinching the wires... you could have just gone thru the hole in the fire wall again it’s there for a reason. 6th it’s low voltage why are you running it from the battery you could have research and connected it to the pin out on the junction box for a factory look and power. Please do not splice wires like this. Crimp connectors are so cheap and easy to use and make secure connections when done properly. Twisting wires together like that will loosen up over time. If you're going to splice stranded wire like that, do a lineman's splice and apply solder

@@JesseRizo That crazy cause I have a switch next to the DRL that lights up the middle brake (white led) lights and two lights inside the bed next the outlet. One on each side. I would like to take pic of them and send it to you
You might be right 🤔 I probably never noticed it I apologize if I am wrong, yes please show me my email is jesserizoyt@gmail.comim curious now lol
Please do not splice wires like this. Crimp connectors are so cheap and easy to use and make secure connections when done properly. Twisting wires together like that will loosen up over time. If you're going to splice stranded wire like that, do a lineman's splice and apply solder
Sorry Bro, but using speaker wire is not a good choice for this type of application.
