Our wine pairing is from the same area, just a little south…
Chateau Bel-Air Lagrave Moulis (Moolees) En Medoc Bordeasux 1995
Chateau Bel-Air Lagrave sits in Moulis, a small village northeast of Margaux. These are classically styled and restrained Cab-dominate Bordeaux wines from a tiny estate that has been in the same family for almost 150 years.
The wines produced at château Bel-Air Lagrave have a lovely robe, they are well- balanced and rich with a powerful framework and tannins of great finesse; with age they acquire that softness and delicate bouquet which are the distinctive signs of the grands crus of Médoc.
The Chateau Bel-Air Lagrave Moulis (Moolees) En Medoc Bordeasux 1995 has aromas of dried cherry, leather and dried flowers waft from this when poured. The body is soft and silky and with air turns from red fruits to dark plum where a subtle hint of damp clay carries the persistent finish. Better after an hour in decanter.

o Picture the perfect fireplace: any length, any location, and any number of sides. Forget about venting, gas lines and hot glass, because they are a thing of the past. Now imagine flames made of water that you can reach out and touch. The mist virtual flame system makes it easy and safe to add a dramatic fire feature to any space. See-through, three-sided, open concept, the possibilities are endless, so go ahead, play with fire.
o The mist flame effect uses ultrasonic technology to produce a fine mist that creates the lifelike illusion of flames and smoke.
o Get creative with the modular design and combine multiple 20" (50.8 cm) CDFI500-PRO and 40" (101.8 cm) CDFI1000-PRO cassettes to achieve the desired length for dramatic linear installations impossible to achieve with gas fires.
o You have the option of using a continuous water supply when you purchase the additional plumbed water supply kit sold separately (CDFIPLUMB-KIT, works with copper piping). This is recommended for a seamless look and to avoid refilling the water tank.

    Impressionist master Paul Signac.
Le port de la Rochelle, 1915
Paul Signac was born in Paris on 11 November 1863. He followed a course of training in architecture before, at the age of 18, deciding to pursue a career as a painter, after attending an exhibit of Monet's work. He sailed on the Mediterranean Sea, visiting the coasts of Europe and painting the landscapes he encountered. In later years, he also painted a series of watercolors of French harbor cities.
In 1884 he met Claude Monet and Georges Seurat. He was struck by the systematic working methods of Seurat and by his theory of colors and he became Seurat's faithful supporter, friend, and heir with his description of Neo-Impressionism and Divisionism method.[2] Under Seurat's influence he abandoned the short brushstrokes of Impressionism to experiment with scientifically-juxtaposed small dots of pure color, intended to combine and blend not on the canvas, but in the viewer's eye, the defining feature of Pointillism.
The Mediterranean coast is a major theme across Signac's paintings.
In 1886 Signac met Vincent van Gogh in Paris. During 1887 the two artists regularly went to Asnières-sur-Seine together, where they painted such subjects as river landscapes and cafés. Initially, van Gogh chiefly admired Signac's loose painting technique. Signac would also meet Toulouse Lautrec who was a friend of Van Gogh.
In 1915 Signac painted the, now famous, Port of La Rochelle.
Fast forward 103 years to 2018, where art thieves pulled off a daring heist at the Museum of Fine Arts in Nancy, a city in northern France-they cut Signac’s 1915 depiction of the port of La Rochelle, now valued at €1.5 million, out of its frame and escaped with it undetected.
A year later, authorities in Ukraine reported that the painting turned up in the home of a Kiev man who was being investigated for killing a jeweler. Shortly thereafter, the Ukrainian minister of the interior met with French ambassador Isabelle Dumont to hand over the painting, which went back to its home in Nancy.

Dude that fire pit idea is awesome. Sent this to my wife. We are so considering buying a yacht and heading out. Just looking for a passive income idea to accomplish it financially. Maybe Bitcoin will take off again!

Hey again John. You know I really thought folks would think me insane for even mentioning it. Lol. And I’m sure many of the “true sailors” we so annoyed with it they didn’t even comment. Lol. Thanks so much for your positive note!! D

My wife watches all your videos with me. She has strong opinions on the nav stations and galleys. We sail a 2011 Nautitech 441, and live aboard 6 months every year. We love our boat and enjoy its balance of comfort and performance.
We also have a 500 bottle wine cellar in our home and enjoy the wine pairing. I would have suggested L’Hospitalet for Catana. We visited the Vineyard the day after getting a factory tour of Catana.
We have chartered a PDQ 36, FP Athena, Lagoon 380, FP Lipari, Nautitech Open 40, and have owned a Cal 29 since 1997.
I would not buy a Lagoon or Leopard because I want to avoid balsa cores. They are also very heavy and I see them motoring in light winds when I am still sailing. We were looking at Catana 42’s, FP Bahia, and Nautitech 40.2’s and 441/442’s when we bought our 441
Quality is very important when living aboard. You will appreciate quality when you have to fix things. BTW even our 2011 N441 has a Vinylester outer layer for osmosis protection

Hey Captain R. Thanks so very much to you and your wife for watching and commenting!! BTW…boats, live aboard AND a 500 bottle wine cellar at home…I WANT YOUR LIFESTYLE !!!NOW!! Lol! I was actually wondering if anyone cared about the wine pairing, so thanks!! Now all I need is a few comments from your wife, expounding on the wonders of live aboard life…especially the social aspects. Sylvia has the impression she will be isolated on a boat in the middle of the ocean. Thanks again!!!!

@@navalgazingatcampdavid She will comment when she has some time. Regarding the social aspect she said she hasn’t had this much fun since college. The interactions with other cruisers is great!

I really enjoy watching your videos! The Elba is one of my favourites from a layout perspective, although the Tanna 47 has the edge with the subtle differences that Sylvia would appreciate.
