    In this video we are going to talk about the Smart way to train abs with calisthenics. I will be talking about the top 3 calisthenics core exercises. These exercises can be used to create a killer ab workout or core routine to build strong bodyweight abs. These exercises won't get you six pack abs, the appearance of the abs comes down mainly to diet and percentage of body fat. Use these exercises in your bodyweight training to master your body.

    This is probably the best core training advice I've seen on CZcams so far. And reverse rollouts? I'm gonna start training those TODAY. Thank you, Daniel.

    10 seconds in, Dan already gets straight to the point - sit ups and crunches are ineffective! I'll calm down, and as I enjoy the rest of the video, I hope you do too 😄

      I imagine the people who dislike my thoughts and opinions in this video are misinformed. Those who think that crunches or situps are a good use of their time and energy are generally the same people with 0 results, real talk. To think flexion based core exercises are going to get you jacked abs is laughable, that's why I came straight out with this statement.
      Getting strong on big compound exercises AND being lean WILL reveal the abs. I've always thought of core training as accessory work to get the most from strength exercises or skills. But hey, I'm here to help and change people's thinking so they can get results.

    • @newme610

      markus Crunch are more effetive then plank...I saw a video they use electronic sensors to read data and its good for the abs.

    • @dasein9980
      @dasein9980 Před 6 lety

      markus EMG studies show ab rollouts are one of the best exercises for muscle activation. Daniel is on par with Jeff Cavaliere but I am not sure I agree that crunches are pure garbage. I think studies will show that, done properly, crunches are another great exercise for abdominal activation.
      That said, I don't do them a whole lot. I prefer hanging ab exercises. But beginners aren't going to be able to do hanging exercises. Also, it's important to target obliques, which neither rollouts nor crunches activate.

    491 like 0 dislikes, Daniel your content quality is insane.
    Can I ask what you think about what sort of rep ranges and training frequencies are ideal for doing posture exercises?
    Like cable overhead pulls and facepulls, posterior pelvic exercises (like the ones in this video actually), and serratus anterior exercises for scapula winging fix. I've heard that high reps is good because it trains the type 1 muscle fibers which are supposed to be active for a lot of time. But it'd be good to hear what you think.

    • @FitnessFAQs
      @FitnessFAQs  Před 6 lety +21

      Moderate rep range will be best for training smaller, stability muscle groups in very strict movement patterns.
      At the end of the day, increase weight, sets or reps on the posture exercises chosen. You wouldn't keep intensity and volume the same with strength training so why treat prehab exercises any differently?!

    Damn those last two are genius! I use the ring rollout touch and combine it with a ring fly into a RTO planche lean touch. I do reverse hip raises to help with back lever and planche but that reverse ring rollout seems much more superior! Add a little of lean to that straddle extension and boom, perfect planche trainer!

I've only recently noticed that my breathing tends to happen in my chest and not my stomach if that makes sense. I noticed that my chest and rib cage expand but my stomach pretty much stays as is and I don't really feel any air getting into the lower part of my torso, is this normal? And does this adversely affect core strength and training? Thanks
