    Just seen this on some random website right now and searched for a youtube video to understand what it does. Low and behold, the man himself Kyle Bradshaw has a video that popped up!!! I swear you're like an angel that keeps surfacing. I'm getting one of these!!!!!

      Ha! Ha! Ha! Go with the plastic one... the metal one is a POS and catches on the gloves.

    • @dualsportdiary1150

      @@manybikes Thanks! I was wondering about that metal one. The plastic one looks simple and that's what usually works. Also it's flatter and lighter and will fit in the bag or pocket easier! So I was planning on the plastic one. Thanks a lot Kyle!

    Was almost about to pull the trigger on an atlas throttle lock for $145 bucks till you saved me! Thanks!Wish I could pop wheelies like you on your Africa but I'm too skeered. LOL

    awesome video, I need something for the my AT and it looks like the original GoCruise will be the answer. Great pro tip btw.. saves a bunch of unnecessary steps.

      You are welcome! I use the original on all bikes... just swap it over. It’s so easy & it works. I have used the Kaoko, Throttlemeister, McCruise and the BreakAway cruise control. They were all nice, and they all did the same thing. $15 all the way to $350. Pretty nuts. GoCruise is the way to go. Thanks for watching.

    So when rolling backwards on a DCT bike, you can either use the parking brake or, a couple times, I've just kept in running and feathered the throttle.

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  Před 5 lety

      mel22b interesting, I’ll have to use that technique

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  Před 5 lety +1

      The bike running / feather the throttle worked well for me this week! Thanks for the suggestion. The rear parking brake I found useless off road as I still needed the bike to "roll" ... Thanks for watching and commenting! - Kyle

    Thanks for review going to need something picking up a 2019 Africa twin adventure tomorrow. You think I’ll need to upgrade seat for longer trips?

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  Před 4 lety

      I found the stock seat to be very comfortable. I rode it 450 miles in a sitting... and was good. If you do want a more comfortable seat, I am a huge fan of seat concepts. Here is an example of a 1200 mile 4 day weekend : czcams.com/video/4tYGetVgR08/video.html Thanks for watching! - Kyle

    I dont know about every motorcycle, but Honda DCT lets you use the motorcycle like a manual very easy.
    For my NC750X, I can manual shift even out of auto mode.
    In fact, I have actually accidently done it twice on a 900 mile trip. Not a problem though because just letting go to sort of reset the system will put it back in auto mode. But you can set it to permanent manual mode if wanted so that you can keep it in whatever gear you want.

    • @waltermh111
      @waltermh111 Před 3 lety +1

      As for the brake, I am not sure what you mean. I have a brake on the handle, a brake on the right foot area, and a parking break on the left handle.

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  Před 3 lety

      Yes, after riding the DCT model for about 6k miles... the bike does not have any way to "hold back" on a steep hill except for the parking brake. It is helpful... but its a really far reach when you are already stressing. LOVE the DCT though... So Fun!

    quite a price disparagy , I wonder is the $10 one the same as the $32 Amazon one?

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  Před 4 lety

      I see them for both $10 and $19 and $32... I do think they are all the same. I did find them for $9.99 on ebay with FREE shipping! Don't know if it was used or not... but you can't hurt it. Thanks for watching. - Kyle

    Mine always gradually slipped and the throttle closed. Not such a hot gizmo. It could not maintain friction hold. Save up for an Atlas

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  Před 3 lety

      I hear you. Did you have the band installed? That is what give it grip over your stock hand grip and thus the reason I use the Rescue Tape in this video. I Love Mine!

    "Original" rescue tape...afraid to burst your bubble but the aviation industry has been using it for many decades. It is cool stuff however.

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  Před 3 lety

      Burst my bubble? It's not new... I too have been using it for 20 years. This Application... Is where I have never seen it used before, thus the Pro Tip.

    DCT has a hand brake to lock the back wheel

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  Před 3 lety

      Yes it does... but it is really hard to reach "on purpose" so people don't grab it like a clutch. The brake on the new Rebel 1100 is really interesting. It's on the handlebar do the right of the switchbox housing. Makes it more accessible.
