Girlfriend, these old techniques are what got me excited about paper 15 years ago. ❤️❤️❤️
This is perhaps my favorite how to video. This is me. This is my kind of art.
I love the crinkle paper textures.
Oh COURSE we want to see what is “floating around” in your head! LOL! ANY Maymay video is a joy!
Just speaking for myself, I tend to go to the older videos for the fun techniques. I am more interested in using the products I have and picking a few new ones, then just buying everything new! So showing process videos is great for me!
Love that smooth “leather” belt wrapped behind the flowers! YES! Please do more of these videos. I have gone back through your older videos to get ideas. You and your family are still in my prayers. ✝️🙏
I absolutely LOVE these kinds of videos! These are exactly what beginner crafters need in order to learn the basics. I don’t believe there are magazines or crafting books out there that still teach these techniques because there is simply a tool for everything these days. And since you are the best teacher ever, I beg of you to PLEASE consider creating a series on this topic (and perhaps a separate playlist) where beginners can come to learn or even an experienced crafter can come to find out how to improvise if they don’t have a certain tool in their arsenal but want to achieve a specific look. I firmly believe these techniques are what inspired many tools to be made in the first place. So with just a few staples, practically anyone at any level can make professional looking crafts without having to afford or worry about storing all the latest greatest tools. I seriously can’t think of a better person to create this series, and it can just be a forever running ever evolving series that is updated and added to as fashion trends evolve and change over time. I’d give this video 10 likes if I could and would love to see more of them from you. 😊 👍🏻👍🏻⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Please keep these oldies but goodies coming. Wonderful to have these ideas and techniques brought back to life! Thank you so much!
God bless all of you Crafters who are generous with your stamps. Blessings 🙏
Game changer for masculine cards.
So love the crinkle card. I remember doing that same technique with paper grocery bags to cover our school books...yes I'm that old lol.
There’re all gorgeous, the one could be a soccer card too. Please do more of those easy techniques.
I have done the wrinkling technique with dampened orange card stock. Then I flatten it and run red, green, and brown ink pads over it and let it dry. Then die cut fall leaves. They are gorgeous.
Sounds like a neat idea! I love making Fall paper crafts. Tfs!
Thanks for the idea, I'm working on Oct birthday cards. I will definitely try this
@@cecilia98665 awesome idea! ❤️
Brilliant idea! I must try this!!
What a great idea - thanks!
Speaking of scraps!!! I keep so many scraps I finally made a box of scraps for my grandkids!!!! They love to cut and glue and that way everything is very handy!!! They love it!!!
Oh I love these ideas! Thank you so much for sharing.
I am just getting back into crafting after my Mom died 2 1/2 years ago. I have really missed it. I am praying for your hurting heart MayMay❣️
~Laurie
I don't know how you come up with all these great ideas but I'm glad you do.
The first one reminds me of the tree trunk swirls that you see after it is cut. And the band looks like leather. I like it..very rustic.
May may love these videos would love to see more. You and your family members are in my prayers. God bless you MayMay
My heart stopped when you crinkled that first piece!! Love it!!
I love the angle of the friends it makes me think of a falling leaf during the fall.
Nice cards great ideas the full leather-look would also be nice done in a denim blue so it would look like wrinkled or old jeans would make a great country card
Totally love that idea!! Will be trying some "jean" look. lol
Yes! Use Faded Jeans.
Welp- back to the craft room! Thank you for the brilliant idea!!
Awesome !!!
I love all 3 of your techniques. Please share your other videos like this! Thank you so much for sharing these!!!
Several years ago I made a great yard sale haul. It was horribly hot that day so I kind of just scooped stuff up paid the lady and got back to my AC. One of my new treasures was an embossing board. It woks kind of like what you are doing there with your score board, but and this is the cool part, is that it came with patterns to put down and using your embossing tool go around the pattern. But I have found that if I print out some words I can just lay them down and poke at them to have a sentiment embossed on your card.
Good idea!
Great ideas. Never thought an embossing board could provide so much interest. Love the scrunched up leather look.Thank you.
Loved this video. It is a great one to share with new crafters without the thousands of dollars of dies, stamps, paper, machines, embellishments, etc.
Maymay, I always love when you show us how to use what we have. I can see teaching this to my group at the senior center. Thanks so much. More please. Hugs and blessings.
Love love love these three techniques. I really liked the way you fuzzy cut your flowers on the first card... great way. 👍 Thanks for all the creativity Maymay!!!🥰🥰🥰
Maymay you are too clever. I love them all. Thanks ❣️🙏🏻
Yes please make more like this and link similar for us.
In this day of machines and dies, it was wonderful to be reminded about doing with out all that. The cards are so nice and yes I would love to see more ideas like these. Thank you.
These cards are great! I love this kind of stuff. Using what you've got on hand. If I was a new crafter, I would be thrilled to have you teaching me to do all sorts of techniques without having to buy a bunch of equipment. Please keep doing these videos, Maymay! Of course I don't care what you do! I enjoy seeing everything that you post. Thanks for sharing!
So cute! The hexies remind me of a soccer ball!
Love these techniques! I am teaching some friends how to make cards that do not require expensive supplies. This is perfect for that!
I love this! So great for those of us without all the “stuff”, but with the desire to make cards! Thank you!
I love these videos. I don't have fancy supplies so this gives me ideas until I am able to obtain the latest gadgets
Please show more tutorials like this!!! I 💖💖💖 faking it til I make it! Thank you for sharing.
I love the bee card! Would love to see more videos like this, 'use-what-you-got'
Thank you for this video. So many people on utube make you feel that you always need something newer, better so I really appreciate this video. I especially like the idea of using the scraps
with a punch. I have tons of scraps that I keep even though I'm not using them.
Sometimes I just use scrap strips spaced a tiny bit like Maymay did with the hexagons to fill a background. Solid colors, prints, sometimes just neutrals, mixed or monochromatic, makes an interesting background for a lot of different moods of cards. And, it uses up scraps.☺️
@@wendywilson1736 my strips are not usually uniform or straight so I don’t usually use them that wat
YOU ARE INCREDIBLE!! So creative. Thank you for sharing. Please, please keep the "ideas floatin' around in your head" coming! God bless.....
Hello and I cannot believe how your video on how to look like embossing has saved me. Yep I am just starting in journaling and brother the expense. Not having to invest in an embossing machine right now on top of everything I have already purchased is a blessing. Thank you so very much for your kindness. I also have to complement you on your creative ideas and wonderful videos. Another Thank you.
Beautiful, loved the video, and loved the card making, so fun, please do more!!!!!! I use to own a cake shop, wanted to get involved in stamping on my days off, what was I thinking, I never got to go to the meetings. Never had time, but I'm retired now, so now its Cricut time, Embroidery machining, and now, looks like I'm gonna be learning some card making, thank you!!!!
Love your wrinkling technique especially for those of us who don't have an embossing tool. Thank you,
Love!: the cross hatched scoring! Your color choice of the base for that beauty was PERFECT.
Share all you have going in that head! LOL! Another great video! Thank you!
I love the leather look card! So simple but so effective. Even stamping your flower & leaves onto coloured card so you don’t have to colour in - genius 😊
I crinkle the paper, cover it with versamark, then clear emboss it. You taught me that almost 5 years ago!😁
Great video! My favorite card is the one using the score board. Beautiful!
I didn't think I was going to like the leather look but I absolutely love it. It kinda looks camouflage and like a close up look of a leaf. So many idea someone can do with just crumpled paper. I would love to see more!!!
I love all of these. Yes, please keep this style of videos coming. Thanks Maymay.
Lovely great ideas. And you are so right alot of people can't afford embossing machines and folders or die cuts. ❤
Great cards Maymay. Love the °old ways° technique. Makes our brains work and easy on the pockets too. Keep up the good work 👏 👏 👏
You brought back memories! Wrinkle distress was one of my first techniques I learned. I put it almost everything. Pop in pastels wad the very first technique. I loved the cross hatch with the scoreboard. Tea?my, all three are lovely. I do appreciate that you turn it into a card. I have a box of backgrounds, and ???? So glad you show real examples. Been praying. Will continue. You stubbies love you. Did you know that you spark joy in this old crafty heart? 😍😊
GAME CHANGER! I have a Spellbinder machine but am just starting to collect stamps and embossing folders. This is awesome, even if you don’t have time to pull out your machine and find the correct folder! Thank you!
I don't have many "tools" so this is awesome . Thank you 😊
Yes, yes, yes! More like these would be great!
Would love more ideas like this. Enjoyed this so much.
Love all three. The inking on the first two really made them be special. The dimension on The third made it really show.
Keep these videos like this coming. Even if I’ve already learns the technique, I need reminders to use them.
Although these may not be new techniques, it helps to be reminded of them. Thanks for sharing!
Yes I would like to see more of this king of video! I would like to give all three a try.
Awesome cards! I love that you remind us what we’ve learned and forgotten!
Oh may Maymay I just love the first one that is so pretty
I love all three cards, but my favorite is the faux leather card, I also like your mat. I do like this style of video.
I liked this video a lot! I would love to see more of these.
The first card is stunning. Love the crinkle paper idea.
First time watching you. Love the cards. So nice to have options when you don't have all the fancy materials.. thanks!
Brilliant! I have to confess, I never remember to use my embossing folders anymore. Way WAAAAAY back when the Cuttlebug first came out, I used them on almost every card. Heck, I even have 3 of those cover plate ones and I’ve never even taken them out of the packaging! “Out of site, out of mind” plays a huge factor in it though. Maybe I need to fix an area on my desk to house them and it might remind me. But how is it that I LOVE the look of hexagons, but I don’t own a single punch, die, etc.?! They’re as versatile as circles! Thanks for the ideas! ❤️❤️❤️
How nice to see techniques for dimension. Would definitely enjoy seeing more
Would love more videos like this. ❤
It is amazing what the printed paper does for stamped images! The.flower center looks like a faceted jewel.
Love these hand work tricks!!
Sometimes, we just want to 'Make it' without hauling out the dies, machines, mats, etc.
Love all of these cards, Maymay.😊
Love this. I think if you took a vote, you would find that your subscribers would definitely like to see more of this type of video! 👍
These were very good suggestions, I would definitely love to see more of your ideas. Sometimes, I just don't want to start taking out machines and dies, and want to go with what's left over and handy. Thank you.
I love it May May....especially the leather look!
They are new techniques to a newish Cardmaker like me, love all three!
You always amaze me, you are not focused on always trying to sell us. You really love sharing your craft and it shows! Thank you so much.
Love the leather style! It is beautiful!
I LOVE the faux leather card. I'm always looking for ideas for masculine cards and that one is beautiful...can't wait to try it!
I loved these. I have forgotten about getting back to basics.
This was a wonderful video. I am new to making cards and don't have all the supplies, so this was a really cool way to show how I can upgrade my card making skills without all supplies! Please make more of these videos!
After your second swipe with the ink pad, and you moved the paper to illustrate the " sheen", I thought another idea--it might be a cool effect to emboss at that point to really bring out the appearance of marbling.
Thanks for reminding me about simple but elegant techniques!!!
You are the best.
I would love to see more of this type of video. This was so enjoyable to watch. Thank you!
You scared me to death when you started wadding up that paper!! 😂😂😂
I love to make paper bag albums. Thinking I could crumble up the brown bags & get this cool texture. Praying for you. 😊
My favorite is the crumpled paper look. I hope you do more of these techniques in the future!
I have never done cards before, but think you just made me want to do some! These are gorgeous! Glad I got to watch this! Thank you!!

Thank you so much for sharing how to make these 😍 beautiful cards ❤
The sunflowers 🌻 😍 are my favorite.
These cards are amazing. I agree, I remember when I had nothing and made cards. Imagination was the rule. Then you invest in tools and you miss the simpler things. Thanks for the reminder.
I would LOVE to see more of videos like these ...this is gorgeous work!!
This is one of my favorite Maymay videos. It's delightful to see the cleverness of wisdom and experience. Thanks, Maymay! And yes, please may we have some more?
