Darklord Despia Diabellstar the Black Witch | Decklist Tech Testing | Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel

- Did a little bit of theory crafting and decided to try out using the newly released Diabellstar the Black Witch, from Selection Pack: Ride Into the Future, as a tech option in a Darklord Despia variant. The main idea is to use her, along with the Sinful Spoils Spells and/or Traps (primarily Wanted and any other preferred choice cards), as a search(er) option that thins out the deck and then as a special summon that can help get Darklord or even Despia cards into the graveyard. Additionally, she provides an extra body on the field for link/syncho/fusion summoning material or for some good disruption at times depending on which Sinful Spoils Spell/Traps are used. The effect to resummon herself if sent to the gy during the opponents turn in also a nice bonus that leads into more deck thinning.
The ratios are optional, but I decided to max out the copies of Diabellstar and Wanted to get a feel of how they work and perform plus Wanted has a great secondary effect to banish itself from the gy to recycle another Sinful Spoils Spell or Traps into the deck then drawing a card.
The deck did decently well but still is a bit of a hit or miss especially with consistency and does not greatly improve it over any other Darklord Despia version...it is just something a bit different to try that can be further improved upon and have fun with along the way.
I might just try this with the Branded Darklord variant so we shall see as I also have other tech ideas I want to experiment with, as always lol

Really like this version than branded darklord. Recently videos, when you mix with branded, it is almost you play branded
This is very true, it does feel like the priority is just branded or rely too much on it which is why I've been trying to focus more on Darklord even if it struggles much more

Thank You, I appreciate it! It does struggle and have a much more challenging time compared to the Branded versions but also tend to be more fun trying different tech options in it😎
Its always good to see another darklord player, honestly this seems alot more fun than using branded, branded just seem like its better to play with another enigine, but darklord and despia fit together so well its good to see another way to play it semi-competively
It definitely is and enjoy the versatility to tech in different engines, extra deck options and of course focusing more on The First Darklord as the main boss monster for making plays😎

Nice, glad you decided to play Darklords! 😎🤝 It is hard to say since I have not played Dark Magician in a long time but what helps for me is I spend a lot of time labbing it up in solo mode testing different ways I can combo depending on my opening hands and trying to learn how the cards can potentially synergize or find new interesting interactions I can do (especially since I'm always attempting to combine them with different archetypes, engines, and strategies lol)
Do you have an updated post Phantom Nightmare Darklord deck profile for TCG? Would love to see that 🙂 Also love the Darklord videos I heard the deck is getting more support in infinite forbidden core set in OCG.
I have not yet looked too much into Phantom Nightmare but will do to see if I find any cool techs to update it with or test out. I really hope there is some kind of support in Infinite Forbidden which I was thinking is possible or maybe at least for the Forbidden/Condemned cards. It would be awesome they actually connected both archetype lore like imagine if the Forbidden/Condemned cards now said something like, "this card is always treated as a Darklord/Forbidden card"🔥
@@avengedchaos7 yeah bro there was leaks of exodia support, cyber dragon support, timelords, darklords and forbidden and solemn support. So far they have predicted the exodia cards were true I just hope that the rest are true. And also the lore is there in the card arts so they gotta have new support soon. You always make the best decklist for darklords been using yours decks on master duel and it's been great. Bought the core cheap and wanted to see if its competitive as a rogue deck.

It is sounding very likely🤞and they could do so much more with the lore! It has potential to be rogue when the deck doesn't brick just need some combo extenders, consistency boost, and more Extra Deck monsters...a searchable field and fusion spell would be nice too 😅 NIce! I also recently finished completing collecting of my TCG set for Darklord plus most Despia/Branded and other tech cards and archetypes that I could manage to get😎🤝

Honestly only if you feel like playing something with a different playstyle that is semi-competitive. It is definitely not as strong as Branded Darklord

I agree with the other comments that Despia DL is a lot more fun to play than Branded DL. Mainly because almost all of their fusion spells have that stupid level restriction on them. It's so difficult to get to TFD unless you're Edy. I do think it's more fun when you can fit Kristya into the deck, but I guess that might be a little too bricky without many Branded cards though.
Very true, it tends to be more versatile, that is also why I have been having fun and experimenting more with weird janky and different Darklord Despia builds lol and edy is crazy good!🔥 I will be trying to incorporate Kristya more now with how the meta is currently going

I agree this deck is best suited for gold rank play, although, it is a bit viable in platinum as it got me from plat 5 to 3
