.... OK PEOPLE. Believe it or not I read all the comments in this video and I want to state something.
A few comments (maybe five or six) got mistaken Janis bracelets in her right arm for cuts on her wrist, especially in 2:15 frame.
I want to say that was not my intention at all. Those "marks" are her bracelets (you can see them throughout all the animatic).
You people are very valuable, you are unique and you are important. Maybe your facing a really bad moment but please, don't harm yourself, don't take an example in this missinterpretation (because I was too lazy to fully draw the bracelets) for harming yourself, but take this powerful song and its message and make it your fuel to be a greater versions of yourselfs... or not this song, whatever that gives you strenght. Sometimes we just need to hold on something till the storm come to end. Stick to a friend, to your family, to something you like to do. Be you, always. And raise your right finger folks, is always good from time to time.

Hey, I’ve watched this so many times just to re-watch the swift moves where she turns or when she is talking because it was so smooth and good animation. This is truly a work of art and I love it.
I like the idea of them being old cuts. The idea I read from was that she’d cut herself before because she wasn’t popular, and even considered suicide, but eventually came to a conclusion: this song. This is not the first time she’s sung this, and now she’s able to stand up after facing her own fears and failures.
This is just my read from it, I encourage anyone considering self harm to seek help, and don’t wish that experience on anyone.
@@eugenideddis It's not a bad idea from an artistic angle, may add some kind of deepness or a different and more dramatic perspective if you want. Personally I don't think is neccesary and definitily it wasn't what I intended at all.

Okay. Here's my theory. It's a working progress and is based off a few songs and parts of several musicals, obviously, and is welcome to outside opinions.
Janis is Veronica's daughter. That much I believe. JD is not the father, he dead.
Heathers takes place in 1989 and Veronica is 17 years old at the time.
Mean Girls takes place 2017-2018ish making her 45ish at the time.
Assuming Janis is 16-17 years old at the time of Mean Girls Veronica would be in her late 20s early 30s.
It would be plausible for it to happen. Correct me if I'm wrong on anything.

No, I don't know what happened to Veronica after the events of Heather and no, I don't know if she's a single mother.

I think the father was a lawyer (as JD said, “you’re planning your future. Veronica sawyer will go to some college and marry a lawyer.”
There’s a problem here, mean girls was set in and came out in 2006. When I looked up Janis’s father on the mean girls wiki, I found her birthday, April 1988, so she was already 1 years old BEFORE the events of heathers, and probably 18 by mean girls. It was a cool theory-just didn’t check out all the facts🫤

I don't know about the others, but I don't like Janice. It's a bit hypocritical to say that the world doesn't stop when your best friend betrays you and so on, when it was she who used Cady for revenge. She had been plotting against Regina for a whole month, justifying herself by saying that she was fighting evil, although in fact her motivation was a desire to repay a personal insult. She offered friendship to Cady and immediately wove a conflict to which she has nothing to do, provoking meanness. Janice had as much to do with Cady's fall as she did with Plastics.
Imagine walking into the school because you were late and you just see a crowd of girls with their middle fingers up.

I dont know if you read Dork Diaries before. But your art looks like an elevated version of when the artist goes into detail versus when they just draw them normal like Kurt and Ram. This is to say I really love it 😍
Hi. I'm not familiar with that work, but thanks to your comment I will search it.
Your art style is really pretty but I would suggest more intense expressions and poses. Like, something extreme and alive, not comix-magazine-covers poses. More asymetrical and strong. It will look good in animation, really. And (personal preferense) you can show movements as just arrows drawn on the picture, not as this montage shifting, cause it looks kinda mechanical and kinda fake.
Hope it wasn't too confusing(english is not my native so i'm not too good at it yet) and hope it didn't hurt cause I still really like this animatic and these are just some advice i thought could be helpful

About the poses, well I will try to do it more expresive and organic. Will be difficult since the comic like poses came naturally in an anime comic style like mine but definititly gonna work on that 😆
About the arrows in the drawings for show movement, I respect your personal preference but was my personal preference also for this animatic (it's not an animation, these are two different things) try to show more frames for some movements like the turn in 0:57 instead of just a turning arrow. I dont say I will never use the arrows since they are useful and can save you frames and work-time, but just for this work I chosed not to. Plus, not even in my wildest dreams I would imagine this animatic would be seen for so many people, so was just me trying to have fun.

I know this is constructive criticism but I'm pretty sure you're supposed to draw sketches of key frames for animation in animatics so it wouldn't make sense to tweak one
