Rain World is easily one of my all-time favourite games, but there's no denying that it can be very difficult- often frustratingly so!
As such, in today's video, I teamed up with my good friend @Stellamarius to take on Rain World together via Jolly Co-op. She's very much a beginner when it comes to this game, so my goal was to give her a little bit of support in her journey whilst still keeping the Rain World experience (mostly) intact.
I say 'mostly intact' because I couldn't help myself and decided to add a few silly little mods. (Don't worry, nothing game-breaking! Yet.)
So please enjoy this very chaotic and very different video! I'm excited to branch out into different types of content, and this is very much an example of that.

I think the very ends of pole plants are more sensitive than the rest of them and can grab you even if you don't grab the plant.
There’s a mouth at the top of them!!! They bite to get you into their den! The reason why they wiggle so much when you grab them is because they’re trying to bite you, not because they constrict! You can see them “looking around” with their heads if you get lucky enough!
Yep, the tip of the plant is the part that grips you and pulls you down.
yeah it automatically grabs if you touch to the top. I had much fun torturing poles with beastmaster mod

When the world is rain (but the rain isn’t risky). Anyway this video single-handedly convinced me to take a look at rain world despite having known about it for years. 10/10 would recommend

as someone who never really got a raw unspoiled first playthrough of the game it's so interesting seeing how new players react to things. Also I love how you went about guiding your friend through the game, the gentle guidance and tips when relevant while still letting her discover things on her own. As someone who feels like they aren't the best at guiding people through media I like without accidentally spoiling things or removing the trial and error process I'm definitely going to try and emulate your attitude on this going forward :)
Level of how chill this video was: Skurry. Your duo is just so cute and cool, and your voices are calming. All of this + rain world makes it even better.

5:42 That was my exact same reasoning for not entering that pipe the first time I played rain world. It unfortunately lead me to taking the drainage route.
Oh boy yeah, in my (very unsuccessful) solo attempt the reason I was stuck in Outskirts for so long was because I thought the drainage gate was the only way I could progress (and maybe also sheer stubbornness 💀)

I was the opposite. I saw it and wanted to go towards the spoopy light and immediately got lost in Industrial for several hours ^-^

18:20 The mimic grabbed y'all because you jumped at the tip of it. Even if you don't climb on it, if you jump on like The™ grabby part of it, it'll still try.

6:42 im sure the reason why this happened its not a bug, was because of the co-op difficulty settings.
There are 3 difficulties:
Easy:only one player has to be alive and reach a shelter.
Medium:everyone dead or alive to has to reach the shelter (at least one has to be alive for obvious reasons), if not the shelter won't close and neither save the progress.
And hard:If any player die its an instant game over.
I would recommend change it to easy for convinience, but thats your choice. Hope this help you •ᴗ•

if I had to guess, either it was on medium and the lizard had a particularly difficult time reaching its home, or it was on easy and one of the mods likely had an issue.
I presume one of the mods is osha compliant shelters. normally, the game stops you from hibernating unless you can do so successfully or the rain has started. but for some reason, this mod disables the latter mechanic.
of course, if you were playing on medium, you would have lost anyway. but on easy, it's possible that the game was expecting both of you to be in the shelter, and/or both of you to be holding down to hibernate.
That is nice to know.

The cory in the house game just wasn't very good.
It's not the worst, but it's nowhere near the quality of the anime.
The anime was an absolute masterpiece!

Hey! We played this using Jolly Co-op, which is a multiplayer game-mode that was added with the Downpour DLC.
If you have access to the DLC, then if you go into the Remix menu, you should see an option to enable Jolly Co-op!
Once it’s enabled, if you go to start up a game, you should see a new button that allows you to add more players.
It’s worth noting that Jolly Co-op is designed as local multiplayer rather than online, so if you want to play it online with friends, you’ll have to use something like Steam’s Remote Play feature.
I used Parsec, which is a software that allows other computers to have control over your computer. I’m sure there’s a bunch of useful resources out there that can teach you how to use either of these!
