Love the vista bubblegum petunia. In my experience with them they are so easy to grow if you follow the instructions fertilizer 2x a week water well and snip they will grow beautifully and make even me look like a master gardener lol . Love your video's and all the helpful tips . Happy growing season🌱🌱🌱

I would love to grow one of these monsters. Can you do weekly video series on the upkeep of one of these baskets? I’m curious about the snipping part, when they get really large won’t you be clipping off all the flowers?
That is a good question! We own a garden center in Michigan but Wayne's Daughters are truly experts. As far as trimming your basket, Think about it like a well maintained hedge row. As long as the Hedge row looks nice and in shape you don't hedge trim it. When it starts growing all these little shoots winging out and no longer is keeping the nice globe shape you know its time to trim. You can take just the leaf tips when you trim if you want to keep as many blooms(Any time you remove the very tip of a plant it suppresses the hormone that cause the plant to elongate and instead makes the plant thicken up . But sometimes if it has been a while since you have trimmed you may take back several inches off the plant. Petunias are very fast growers. Even if you took 5 inches off a very Large basket, in about 2 weeks with proper fertilizer it would be the same size again but much thicker, with more beautiful blooms.
