    I like how the losing system actually works in a simulation of play, while in actual play the martingale would have been a terrible loss. Great video, except for the splitting tens 4 times, I could not see what the last card was to update my running count.

    • @MegaYouNiko

      At the time the count was around a true 5, despite making it terribly obvious that you are counting, splitting 10s is the correct call.

      Ehh. Martingale does work. Just casino or total cash on hand limits the player. So you’ll see it work plenty. Just eventually the luck runs out and the odds favor the casino.

    This is incredibly helpful. I started by dealing out a deck of cards knowing I should and with a count of 0, then I started dealing them out two at a time to count, but then I needed to increase the difficulty. This gives the perfect practice because I can practice keeping the count while also trying to implement proper strategy. Very encouraging

    I don't play for long hours. I'm a hit and run guy. I play $200 min a hand and try to be done before the 3rd shoe. I employ a reverse progressive, but my increments are half bet sizes. So win the first, next hand is $300, then $400. After $400 I jump to $600 and after $600 I jump to $800 and stay for one additional hand. Then I finally get to $1,000 and max out at $1,400. Just not comfortable going any higher. I know my system is not +EV but it works for me and allows me to make a decent number or minimize a loss. I show up with $3,000 and if I lose I'm done.

    • @noseboop4354

      Basic strategy chart depends on what the rules of the casino are, such as if the dealer hits on a soft 17 or not. Blackjack apprenticeship site shows a hybrid chart that works decently for most rules, but ideally you should use a chart specifically designed for the rules of your casino.

  • @alessiobubbles5345

    Hi, I want to ask you a question😄
    Why does basic strategy never allow to split a couple of 10s against a dealer's bad hand (3 through 5 let's say)? Wouldn't that make more money in the long run, since it's likely that the dealer busts and it has the potential to earn you double the money? 🤔

    • @jrizzy626
      @jrizzy626 Před 9 měsíci +1

      Because splitting 10’s will not make more money in the long run. Only when the count is very high does it become advantageous to split 10’s, and only when the dealer has certain cards.

    NEWB QUESTION ALERT!
    i’ve been practicing a lot at home and recently had an opportunity to go to a casino and check out the blackjack tables, i knew i would most likely lose money cuz i just wanted to see if i could keep the count and check out shuffling or penetration etc, i noticed the discard tray was super tall and i have to believe it was an 8 deck tray, but during the shuffling process, the dealer used the discard tray to line up all the cards perfectly even before putting them in the shoe, when all the decks were in the discard tray, there was about a two deck gap..
    which is more likely? a casino to be using 8 deck discard trays but only 6 decks in a shoe or my estimations on either discard tray size or number of decks to be off!?
    any help is appreciated, thank you much!

    • @noseboop4354

      To be absolutely sure, do a count where you count every single card +1. If the cut was about 2 decks deep, then if your total count at the end is about 312 (6 decks = 52 * 6 = 312 cards) you have 8 decks total for the shoe.

    whats stopping the casino from shuffling the cards every hand? would card counting go abosulte?

    • @pellek2222
      @pellek2222 Před 4 měsíci

      The length of time it takes for a human to hand shuffle 6 or 8 decks is the reason that casino doesn't shuffle after every hand. Hand shuffling after every hand would nearly kill any advantage an advantage player has, but would kill the casino's own revenue. However, what casinos have moved to are Continuous Shuffling Machines--where the dealer plays one to three rounds, then shoves the cards into a machine that continually shuffles the shoe. Under such circumstances, it's rare that the true count would ever eclipse +1, so it does severely mitigate counting.

    Question about Black Jack.
    In the casino near me they deal the cards in a 'strange' way.
    The dealer deals the first cards to the players face up, then proceeds to deal the card to the dealer also face up (first discrepancy), then deals the second card face up to the players and that's it. He does not deal himself (the banker) the other card face down.
    So the round proceeds and only when the last player makes his move, the dealer proceeds to deal himself the second face-up card, and then the usual, stands at all 17.
    My question is whether the dealer has an advantage (I guess so) and how much is it in percentage.
    In particular, when the dealer has an ace I think he is at a great disadvantage.

      This is how it's traditionally dealt in Europe. I don't know how it affects edge, but it definitely means you'll get fewer hands from a shoe, because you have all the wasted cards on dealer BJ that wouldn't happen in an American dealt game

      @@sicsemperevan It's the standard ENHC procedure, just find out. It seems that ENHC increases the casino’s advantage by at least 0.11 per cent.

      This way gives an edge to the dealer, because the player is forced to make decisions about doubling and splitting before the dealer checks for blackjack, thus losing more money if dealer has blackjack.

    What to do if all the casinos near me have auto shuffles now? (And I can't travel to further casinos right now)

    • @pellek2222
      @pellek2222 Před 4 měsíci

      There's a difference between "Automatic" shufflers and "Continuous" shufflers. Automatic shufflers work by playing with two separate shoes: one shoe for the play and one shoe being shuffled. Once the cut card has been reached, the dealer trades the current shoe with the now-shuffled shoe, and the old shoe gets shuffled while the new shoe gets dealt. Automatic shufflers save time and are beatable. Continuous shufflers work when the dealer places the discarded cards immediately into the shuffling machine, and the machine continuously shuffles any undealt cards with the newly-added discarded cards. Under these circumstances, at most three round's worth of cards are discarded at a time. Due to the lack of truly discarded cards, it's nearly impossible to achieve positive true counts.

      Actually you can include the cards on the table as well because although they're not in the discard tray, you have counted them, except for the hole card. So 54 cards

    why dont you eliminate the randomness of the cards being deal to each player, by having them all play the same hand, -- then you are testing the different systems against each other for the same hands dealt.. (wouldbn't that be a better way to compare?)

    if you're counting cards on at an 8-deck shoe table and they put the card cutter thing at the end of the shoe with about 1 deck remaining, do you divide by 7 to get the true count? or do you still divide by 8?

    • @royjonzejr
      @royjonzejr Před 9 měsíci +3

      You still divide by 8. To wrap your mind around why, just think of an extreme situation where you are playing a 100 deck game and 99 decks are cut out of play. All those 100 decks of cards have been shuffled together and you can't know how many low and high cards made it into the 1 playable deck. Therefore, just because 99 decks have been cut out, you can't treat it like a single deck game where you don't have to divide by anything to get the true count because even if a bunch of low cards get dealt out while you're playing, there can still be tons more left in the deck so you will never be in a situation where you'll want to bet high.

    In your opinion can you win without counting cards and just using basic strategy? not thounds but double your money!? also, if dealers use the same deck of cards until it's out is it a waste of time to keep track of high cards if your not great at card counting?

    • @noseboop4354
      @noseboop4354 Před 9 měsíci +1

      Anything can happen short-term, but in the long run it's impossible to win using just basic strategy.
      If you aren't great at card counting, consider using a simpler system such as the Ace/Five count. You won't win, but you'll lose less money so your casino trips will be cheaper, and perhaps gain enough confidence to try better systems that actually win later.
