04-28-23 update: Some of the bolts on the mount stripped on me... I found these really good/strong replacements here and have had no problems since:

Get yourself an annular light to go around the objective lens, it made a world of difference in clarity and contrast when I picked one up. Having one or two light sources in just the wrong spot when you're working with shiny metals can have the effect of making low spots look like high spots and vise versa, especially at higher magnifications, which can really disorient you and sometimes lead to big mistakes. Don't get rid of the other light though, if you're still having trouble visualizing the "topography" of your engraving, flip it on and put it at a shallow angle to the workpiece so it casts shadows, then move it around while looking through the scope until you find a spot that gives good definition. Sometimes that helps to get a better picture of the highs and lows. Congrats on the nice optics!
Man, thank you for the tips! I'll look into that for sure. Sounds like a great idea.
Hey James!
Great addition to the shop! Before long you'll be putting bugs under it and seeing just how amazing they are.
You can squish 'em later LOL
I salvaged an Olympus optical microscope from work. It's a belter!!
Cheers! 🙏🏻🇬🇧
Cheers sir! I've never really worked with something like this, so it blew my mind a little... lol
@@RedBeardOps
It opens an entirely new dimension, buddy.
Have fun with it 🤠👍🏻
Right on! Microscopes are a handy tool!
Tell you what, it's shocking how clear it is. I don't have much experience with these... It's like opening up the curtains to another little world. LOL - Cheers sir
Cool tool bro!
that's actually sick, didn't even think about using a whole microscope
Man, it's crazy how close it gets... I went from opti-visors to the digital microscope to this. Each step was an improvement. Cheers Chef!
I use a nikon scope and they are awesome for engraving and inlay and guard fit ups if needed.
That thing is probably awesome to have. Especially if you start doing inlays.
Agreed! Cheers sir
Just got one !
Thanks for the review! I just purchased one. Can this microscope be connected with a camera? If so, which camera would you recommend? Thanks a lot!
I actually don't know! I'm sure there is an adaptor for a camera. I haven't gotten one though.
I’ve been admiring the one that Kyle uses and have been looking into it. This one certainly looks to be a lot less expensive than the one he uses. I think it’s around $12-1400. I’ll definitely look hard at this one and use your link when I buy. Thanks for the video!
Thank you greatly Jason. Have a great day.
Not a bad buy, at all! Thanks for sharing! Nice shop, by the way! 👍 How much was the smaller vise? Greetings from Oregon, USA 🇺🇸 🌲🪓🌲🪓
Thank you sir! I have a link to that vise in the video description if you want to check it out. Pretty neat little guy. Cheers from Texas!
I just bought a used Olympus and for standard I modified it with a tv bracket. bracket function is exactly the same as yours, and all is well. the difference is in the price only 😁😁
Very cool!
hi, the video recordings, projections have been made through the lenses of the VEVOR microscope and with what process and how, please ?
Not all of them were
@@RedBeardOps thank !
Huh, leave it to Vevor! 🖖
hello, what is the maximum zoom of the microscope? does it also have an additional 0.5x lens? thanks
Hey Cristiano, it came with a lens that I attached to the bottom from day 1. not sure the zoom. You can see my images though the lens to get an idea of the zoom. I think the product page also talks about specifics.
@@RedBeardOps hi what depth of work can you use 10cm 20cm t?from the lens to the piece
What is the distance between the lense and the job is there plenty of room for tools and hands
You can get an idea here - czcams.com/video/_0hfwB1EJXw/video.htmlsi=9IvB1Q2S2meih7ax&t=244
Pretty sure this is the exact same that Durston in the UK are charging £1200 for - I've seen them for £500 on ebay. Criminally cheap in the USA! All from the same factory just different logos.
Have a great day!
I was thinking the same thing gessewein has them for 1700
🤔 u got any Microscopic video to compare whats inside an cheap $10/roll 3m HI intensity prismatic reflector vs $99/roll 3m Dimond grade reflector vs $199/roll 3m Dimond grade DG3 cube edition reflector. 🤔. Whats the different!! Microscope video have..!
Have a great day!
dude this is not a microscope review channel, were u not watching the same video as i just did?
Oh thank goodness for your video.. I'm such an idiot.. 2:26 shows me my errors.. Guess I thought those eyepieces were extras or since it had a picture of glasses on it, thought they were for if you were using with glasses.. And the magnifier on the bottom.. So, everyone have a good laugh at me for being such a dweeb... BUT there was 100% NO instructions on assembling the actual scope, just the base....
Have you found that only one thumbscrew actually holds the scope in the bracket since it said something about 3 included, but seems you only get one..
It seems to be doing a decent job so far! Not the best built thing, but really gets the job done for me
@@RedBeardOps well thanks to you I can actually see stuff now and focus it lol.. I was mad as hell when I thought things were missing or broken lol.
