Greetings from Maui; hope you have a great trip. (I guess you’re just going to Oahu?) A couple of important tips: 1. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE use reef-friendly sunscreen when going in the ocean. The chemicals in most sunscreens are killing the coral. Without healthy coral, the rest of our sea life is dying. 2. Please pack (or buy) water bottles and stay hydrated. They can keep your water cold and avoid extra plastics on the islands, which too often end up in the ocean and kill seas life. 3. Be really careful with all that great camera gear. Thieves target tourists. They know rental cars and if you leave it parked somewhere you might be a target, as will your stuff if you leave it on the beach unattended. 4. Be aware that tourism is controversial right now. Many people rely on visitors for income, but an equal number don’t want visitors right now because of the fear of Covid spreading.
I ended up buying those microfiber cloths after I saw them on your videos . . . Holy cow!! IT WORKS!!! I've recommend them to several people (including my dad) and they are all blown away, too. Love your videos .I was born in Hawaii and lived there when I was little .there are a lot of good places to eat at here are some I think you might like zippy's is a good fast food place .Rambow drive in. has real good food. Matsumoto shave ice in the North Shore in my opinion has the best shave ice. on the island. And Leonard s bakery is very good .Try their Malasadas. And on Saturday and Sunday at Aloha Stadium in the parking lot there is a giant swap meet & marketplace the goes around the whole Stadium .they have everything .you can get fresh fruit and food and real cool cheap shirts and shorts and cool trinkets .Also A la Moana center is a cool outdoor mall in honalulu

You have taught us when packing roll your shirts up, able to get more in the luggage. Usually our trips are to NY so when we come back, we bring about 4 to 5 dozen Bagels. An give them to family members down here. Look forward to all your vlogs and sure you two are having a most amazing time there.

If you haven’t already, and have time before you leave, I HIGHLY recommend buying rash guards online (they are cheaper that way) for the days you are snorkeling, etc. We’re so excited for you being able to go to Aulani!
Yes Hawaii is filled with bugs gallore. The spiders there are MASSIVE. Also I'm not sure on that sunscreen you showed but please make sure to use coral friendly sunscreen! ♥️We need them!

Kitra, just an FYI re: liquids or gels - if it's in a container larger than 3.4 ounces, it'll need to go into a checked bag rather than a carry-on. You can get the full low-down on the TSA website. If it's not too late to do so, I recommend making a run to Target to get a travel kit.

The one thing I recommend to Kitra is a small, hanging toiletries travel bag that has travel sized silicone bottles of everything. Each compartment should be waterproof. Mine holds shampoo, conditioner, lotion, sunscreen, brush, comb, a Tide stain pen, a bottle of wrinkle releaser, tiny tubes of cortisol cream and Benadryl cream, a little pill box of ibuprofen, aspirin, Benadryl, Imodium, and Pepcid, a small bottle of tums, bandaids, toothpaste, toothbrush, Q-tips, tweezer, nail clippers, deodorant, small baby powder, a tiny emergency eyeglasses repair kit, and a small jar of my favorite face moisturizer. And, you know what? I keep all of these in this travel bag so I never forget anything. I even keep a list of all of these in the kit, so when I get home I can check the things that need refilling. Because the bag hangs, when I get to where we’re going I just zip it open and either hang it on the bathroom door, or on one of the towel rods. I have traveled on many weekends, and things like nail clippers have saved the weekend.

We did DVC & join a FB group-Aulani Pay It Forward. people will post the excess items they are leaving behind! They usually leave it in the ice rooms, but it’s not suppose to a known fact or a practice- but it Happens! We got 2 Boogie Boards, balls & sand toys to use while there! Picked up several kinds of beers 🍻 for my Grown nephew! He was a skeptic, but when he got that free beer 🍺 he had us checking the Pay it Foward FB Group every night! (Usually PU in the persons room cuz they don’t want teens getting the Alcohol 🍷!) we needed Pam for cooking, we asked the group and got it & left over closed packaged foods/snacks! Also bug spray & sun block,
I liked both your packaging guiding. Peter's for sure more of a gadget geek. Kitra is a true STAR WARS fan, cause she still had her new bought travel items in the original packaging - to keep them in mint condition. I guess collectors pay more : )

I love my PD gear. They make some awesome stuff for photography. I wore my dslr through WDW on a PD sling strap and it was fantastic to be able to swing it behind me while walking through crowds to keep it out of the way and swing it up to snap photos/videos quickly.
Listening to your story about backpack stealing lol. When I was at a Disneyland store I paid for my purchases and left the store. As I was walking to exit the main gate I realized I wasn't charged for an item I took. I freaked thinking I'd be tackled for stealing from Disneyland. And you can't do that! Lol. I stopped then at a kiosk and explained what happened. I gave it back to them as I couldn't purchase from anywhere else. But I repurchased it the next day. OMG what a story.

Awesome video guys!!! I love to see what folks pack when they travel!!! I just checked the weather for Hawaii. You may want to take a couple of umbrellas. We usually pack empty bags for dirty clothes. If you have questions about the resort, such as laundry facilities, I would call ahead of time. They do have motion sickness patches that fit behind your ear. I use them on cruise ships. I also pack my Alleve and the hubby packs his migraine medicine. Too much salt will trigger his migraines.
As you probably saw in our livestream (thanks so much for the generous super chat again) we are coming back tomorrow and we avoided the rain for the most part.
Any tourists at the resort had to take a covid test right before their plane flight over. As for locals, covid cases here are so small. Everyone is wearing masks except when they are in the pool or walking from pool to pool, so that’s probably what you saw. But that’s said everyone is trying their best to social distance
Oh wow! I’m from Hawaii and I can see you guys waited for the restrictions to go down! Lol they just made it so you have to have a negative test prior to going. The entire time before that you had to quarantine for 10 days on the island instead. They’re doing this because we are losing TONS of money in tourism 😅. ENJOY THE AINA! And stay safe out there! 🤙 ps. You’ll LOVE LOVE LOVE Aulani if you go!!! Make sure to eat at the buffet restaurant there!
Yes always bring stickers! I was so happy to meet you on Buena Vista Street. We talked about traveling. I put my sticker on my Hydro Flask I carried all over Disney World Thank you! Have a blast you two!!!!!
Here are some suggestions on places to eat. - Malasadas from Leonard Bakery (make sure you eat them as soon as you get them). - Coco Puffs from Liliha Bakery - Eat at Nico's Pier 38 - Eat at Zippys, they are the local eatery, the best way to describe it is the Denny's of Hawaii with many different local food. - If you want to try Hawaiian food, go to Helena's Hawaii Food and/or Highway Inn. Have fun and enjoy!
What girlfriend (MJ) ended up buying in Hawaii: rain coat with hood, a second pair of sandals because they can get sandy & dirty easily. Lip balm, sunglasses, body wipes, beach towels, sunscreen, ibuprophen, tums, pepto, sundress for luau also a beach cover up, picnic bag for food & snacks on the go, wet brush, hair ties/clip, sea salt spray for style & go hair post swim, and sun visor.
Bugs were not an issue she says, just saw big spiders and creepy crawlies but they didn’t bug you. But we come from the lands of mosquitoes on steroids. (The Midwest).
Yay, fellow pokemon player :) I usually have my backpack as my carry on. It's filled with all my electronics. Laptop, switch, games and chargers. Then any other odds and ends I can get in there. Only problem with bringing it as carry on, I have to take it all out for security to look at. Last time I traveled to New York, the TSA people were saying "Looks like we got some gamers!" because my son and I had so many electronics out :D
Have a safe trip! I always bring an extra usb-c/lightning cable for the rental car, so I can use Android Auto or CarPlay. I also leave a travel size hand sanitizer in the car in case I forgot it in the hotel room. Also extra snacks and drinks or water bottle as airlines are not really serving anything these days. However, the 5.5hr from LAX to HNL shouldn't be that bad, it's usually a 10.5hr flight from the east coast, but well worth it to be in Hawaii! I wouldn't be too worry if you forget anything, there's always a Target/Walmart/ABC store close by.
I a m glad for both of you. This time of year is actually the best time for weather there. Renting a car is smart. It gives you the freedom to see the island in a non tourist way. I think some of my best memories are times just driving around and pulling over to see something. There a lot beautiful places most tourists don't see because they don't have a way of getting there. Peter you might think about having lens wraps and camera coverings. I had a wave go over me, one time there. I was out shooting on some rocks. The gear was saved because it was wrapped, otherwise it would have been a very expensive wave. Lenses are not sealed. I believe some camera bodies are. That said, sea water can really wreck a camera. Kitra, I hope my comments were not the reason you ditched your Christmas tree. I have a bad sense of humor.

We usually pack empty bags for dirty clothes. If you have questions about the resort, such as laundry facilities, I would call ahead of time. They do have motion sickness patches that fit behind your ear. I use them on cruise ships. I also pack my Alleve and the hubby packs his migraine medicine. Too much salt will trigger his migraines.

Any tourists at the resort had to take a covid test right before their plane flight over. As for locals, covid cases here are so small. Everyone is wearing masks except when they are in the pool or walking from pool to pool, so that’s probably what you saw. But that’s said everyone is trying their best to social distance

Oh wow! I’m from Hawaii and I can see you guys waited for the restrictions to go down! Lol they just made it so you have to have a negative test prior to going. The entire time before that you had to quarantine for 10 days on the island instead. They’re doing this because we are losing TONS of money in tourism 😅. ENJOY THE AINA! And stay safe out there! 🤙 ps. You’ll LOVE LOVE LOVE Aulani if you go!!! Make sure to eat at the buffet restaurant there!
Many of the popular businesses we visited had no line, good for us but I was kind of sad. I hope none of them go out of business.

- Malasadas from Leonard Bakery (make sure you eat them as soon as you get them).
- Coco Puffs from Liliha Bakery
- Eat at Nico's Pier 38
- Eat at Zippys, they are the local eatery, the best way to describe it is the Denny's of Hawaii with many different local food.
- If you want to try Hawaiian food, go to Helena's Hawaii Food and/or Highway Inn.

What girlfriend (MJ) ended up buying in Hawaii: rain coat with hood, a second pair of sandals because they can get sandy & dirty easily. Lip balm, sunglasses, body wipes, beach towels, sunscreen, ibuprophen, tums, pepto, sundress for luau also a beach cover up, picnic bag for food & snacks on the go, wet brush, hair ties/clip, sea salt spray for style & go hair post swim, and sun visor.
Bugs were not an issue she says, just saw big spiders and creepy crawlies but they didn’t bug you. But we come from the lands of mosquitoes on steroids. (The Midwest).

Yay, fellow pokemon player :) I usually have my backpack as my carry on. It's filled with all my electronics. Laptop, switch, games and chargers. Then any other odds and ends I can get in there. Only problem with bringing it as carry on, I have to take it all out for security to look at. Last time I traveled to New York, the TSA people were saying "Looks like we got some gamers!" because my son and I had so many electronics out :D

Have a safe trip! I always bring an extra usb-c/lightning cable for the rental car, so I can use Android Auto or CarPlay. I also leave a travel size hand sanitizer in the car in case I forgot it in the hotel room. Also extra snacks and drinks or water bottle as airlines are not really serving anything these days. However, the 5.5hr from LAX to HNL shouldn't be that bad, it's usually a 10.5hr flight from the east coast, but well worth it to be in Hawaii! I wouldn't be too worry if you forget anything, there's always a Target/Walmart/ABC store close by.

I a m glad for both of you. This time of year is actually the best time for weather there. Renting a car is smart. It gives you the freedom to see the island in a non tourist way. I think some of my best memories are times just driving around and pulling over to see something. There a lot beautiful places most tourists don't see because they don't have a way of getting there.
Peter you might think about having lens wraps and camera coverings. I had a wave go over me, one time there. I was out shooting on some rocks. The gear was saved because it was wrapped, otherwise it would have been a very expensive wave. Lenses are not sealed. I believe some camera bodies are. That said, sea water can really wreck a camera.
