#K12FilmReaction #MelanieMartinez #ISaidABadWord - Hudba
Hey guyss the UNCUT version of this video is available on my Patreon now featuring the entire film!! Here's the link if you want to watch www.patreon.com/luscent
Fun fact: the rabbit masks come from Melanie's past, when she was a kid her family bought a puppy and she had to decide if she wanted it or the bunny. Since she chose the puppy, she gave the bunny to her friend and it was found decapitated in their yard.
jesus christ 😫
Wtf ! I never heard about this LOL
@@FFrozenCJ why are you laughing at this-
Omg Jesus that's heavy
gurl what
Interesting fact Melanie wanted a good choreographer for the movie and she hired Brian Friedman who was Britney Spears' choreographer thats why her dances were so good.
Ahh yeah amazing! I lovvvved the choreography so much!
Melanie first intended to use the song “fire drill” which is shows for the credits to get rid of the school and burn it to the ground. Unfortunately, there wasn’t enough budget for that.
I thought they canceled the fire ending because the producers thought it was too cliche
@@polinadzhygit2906 perhaps this is just what I’ve read and been told
Ah that would make sense though I don't think cgi-ing a massive bubble would've been that cheap tbh jaha
@@polinadzhygit2906 no they just said that in the movie as an excuse
I mean the movie had a 6 million budget
The Empaths in K-12 and the Crybaby album possess psychic powers. When the Empaths' eyes turn fully black, it represents them being awakened to a higher level of consciousness and they are able to display a lot of powerful magical abilities. 💜✨
Oh cool!! I would be definitely be a psychic in Melanie's world then! 😁
The black eyed version of her is named melatonin. Which she talks about In Milk and Cookies and ZZZ :)
I'm so happy another being sees this too 💖
@@keyiahmcclain4229 oh that’s cool I never knew. I did not know they were called empaths either. Well, it makes sense they are the most rational characters.
I know teachers pet can be a very weird and uncomfortable song for some people but I truly love it because it’s such a bold and dark topic I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone talk about in music.
Me too and I love the beat of the song.
It’s definitely a darker song which I vibe with
I really had to listen to it and get somewhat more comfortable with it but now its my favourite song of K-12
i still dont know what it means tho can u tell me
(TW, S.A, r*pe)
Off the top of my head I can only think of 2 other songs that aren't Melanies involving S.A/R*pe
1. Is "If it happened to you" by Lady Gaga (I think that's what its called) which is about different kinds of victims but focused moreso on college students and also how people blame r*pe victims
2. Devil in a midnight mass by Billy Talent, it's moreso talking of the abuse of power dynamics of an adult and a child, with the added power dynamic of a Priest/child situation, its about things in the past how little boys were victims and essentially silenced within the church/catholic boarding schools etc, both of these songs are very dark and I would only recommend them if they aren't triggering for anyone to watch
people have predicted from the last sample “ i’m getting out of here”, that Melanie is implying that crybaby went in the door at the end. although we won’t know until next year when the next movie is being released, which I’m really excited for
How exciting!! I'll be excited to react to it!
actually she did kinda confirm that the crybaby era was over at the end of her online concert! they said and i quote "All good things come to an end. Though it is sad, it is also a time of excitement for what the future holds. Thank you to all the sweet angel babies who have stuck around me and Crybaby from the beginning. We've grown so much in these last 6 years and I promise to never take your love and support for granted. Cheers to the ups and downs, the laughter and the tear, and most importantly to the lessons we learned together. Looking forward to seeing you all again in the next phase/chapter of this magical little world!" and my guess is by the last sentence, this was the last time we've seen crybaby and her story. I think in the next one we are either gonna see crybaby dying and reincarnating as someone else (because in the movie it was stated that this was NOT crybaby's first life on earth) or just straight up starting as someone else but id say melanie would do the first because she wouldnt leave us in the dark after spending so much time and energy on crybaby and her story.
@@lavender7725 oooo interesting
@@lavender7725 oh, I've always interpreted that statement as Melanie leaving the child-like themes of her art.
@@lavender7725 Melanie did confirm that mm3 and mm4 will be about Crybaby. Mm3 will be crybaby evolving and growing as a being. So, maybe she’s just saying how she’s leaving all the child sounds and child metaphors behind. And when one of the scrapped songs from mm3 leaked, it was a lot more mature in the sense of her voice, the metaphor, and lyrics.

lmao I love your reactions❤️
Ah that's cool!
@@Luscent you should watch again the film by your own to understand better this info haha (only if u want of cours)
And fire drill is college, I think.
@@ShidoDraws I think the intention of fire drill was supposed after recess because they mention in the locker room that they wanted to set the school on fire so I think fire drill was them setting the school on fire but it got cut so it became the credits song
@@ShidoDraws Isn't Fire Drill a single?
“No one taught them not to grab” not “no one taught me not to crack”. It’s a commentary on the whole “boys will be boys” and victim blaming thing.
Ahhh yeah that makes sense thanks
The ghosts represent that this has all happened before and will happen again. Note how the ghosts are stuck in an eternal dance, like her school would have been if she had not saved them.
In Strawberry Shortcake- you said "no-one taught me not to crack" the line is actually "no-one taught them not to grab"
This is my favourite movie of all time and honestly the scariest part of it isn’t the gory scenes it’s how real this is even though it’s all magical and fantasy.
ALSO THE SEQUEL AND NEW ALBUM IS COMING NEXT YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeahh it's the connections to real life atrocities and societal problems that's the heavy party
Fun fact: the dream Melanie is talking about when she first wakes up at the beginning of the movie is the Mad Hatter music video, where at the beginning of the music video she also went to sleep so she could wake up from tne dream at the beginning of K-12
Sometimes i wish i didn't know Melanie just to listen to her music for the first time again
mhm
@@NJackie yeah
Same
In the beginning of the movie she said, "girls where pink dresses and boys blue pants." I think she is using those color schemes to make comments on gender. The teacher that was transitioning had blue hair but wore a pink outfit. So the blue boys I think are supposed to be toxically masculine.
Also Crybaby's dress is purple, a mix of pink and blue which i think represents her embracing both her masculine and feminine traits. In addition a lot of the girls have blue accessories in their hair, even crybaby has blue ribbons, which I think again signifies having a few "masculine" traits.
Also all the female teachers wear blue. I think this is because they have positions of authority/power which are again considered masculine. But considering the teachers are helping to support the oppressive regime it could also mean that they are male identified. In other words the women who believe and repeat harmful patriarchal ideas.
I've watched tons of reactions to this album and film but I've not once seen one flesh out and digest every bit of this creative work like you did. It's amazing truly!
Also Melanie has recently confirmed that her new album n film are both going to be released next year.
Aw thank you so much! Also YAY
i don’t think she confirmed the film, just the album because they’ll be more separated. like instead of it being like a musical, it’ll be an ACTUAL movie with the album as the soundtrack
It’s “no one told them not to grab” in Strawberry Shortcake :) I love this movie so damn much, I’ve rewatched it like five times haha and I’m glad you loved it too!
Oh right thanks!
It is actually taught, the cc is wrong
Actually the song Matches really well with recess quotes about how when celebrities want to take a break the replaced and the students can't take a break they Can't Stop Dancing literally
I think the ghost are suppose to be the student's in past who got stuck dancing at their schools dance. There also been theories that one ghost girl that kept appearing was a scrapped character named Luna. She was referenced in some of melanie old scrapped songs. She is also known as being sudcial cause whenever melanie wrote a verse about her, she would always be on the roof.
Actual lyrics:
Luna is on the roof again. (Zzzz)
Luna's on the roof so sad, I wonder what's in her goodie bag. (Ring Pop)
Wow! I didn't know but what are the songs?
In Detention, someone interpreted it like a relationship of a man and woman being busy with their own jobs and the only time they ever see and spend time with each other is in the bedroom (implying just having sex) that's what it saying in the line, "Baby can you meet me tonight in detention". Well I'm not sure if that's the whole interprtation but people can see it as something else😊😊😊👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️
That's a really cool idea!
In orange juice in the office they were telling her to stop with "ordering oranges off the menu" and after that compared it to what some models do to fill their stomachs and to stay slim which is eating tissue or cotton balls. at the end her moms tell her she looks fine her looks aren't an issue. She then screams because she doesn't believe her moms and only believes the lies shallow people and society put in her head.
THEYRE HER MUMS W H A T
According to Melanie her next albums/film will still follow crybaby (at first she said she was ending the crybaby storyline but then she said she was continuing it so I don’t know I think she wanted to end it but decided to continue it...)but it will be a lot different in her next one crybaby will evolve and transform in a way of like reincarnation or metamorphosis and she’ll kind of turn into a new person I also think that Melanie is kind of gonna leave behind the childish metaphors (😭 gonna miss-) and just go all in deep and dark I’m super excited but also a bit nervous anyway I know whatever she makes will probably be amazing so we’ve just got to trust the process who is excited!!!!?!!!!!!!!!
I'm hyped for her to go somewhere new I think all artists need to evolve and she's brought the story of growing up to a natural conclusion so even if we still have crybaby the character I can see it being very different
Honestly I hope she does leave behind the childish metaphors, because it seems like she's dragging it along. (i love them, but it doesn't feel like she wants to keep doing it, since she's more into this fantasy type theme)
@@filipinojiafei1130 Yes it was good while it lasted but I’d love to see what she creates next!!!
No wtf you were on point-😅
Orange Juice hit me really hard when I first heard it and watched the music video. I started crying. It was like a reflection of the trouble o went through when I was anorexic. Especially the part where she gives her set of eyes because the other girls wasn't working and she wanted her to see just how beautiful she was to her. That she has warped her vision of herself. The people around her feeding lies and expectations but also adults blaming her for "choosing" to do these things vs getting support. In my situation, I was a gymnast, ans at the age of 12 I was on the verge of being sent into the hospital due to anorexia. The coaches did not allow me to bring full meals into the gym, only a small snack, during meal times such as lunch or dinner. It got to the point where I'd eat a bite of an apple and be full. I didn't "choose" to be anorexic, i was trained to be anorexic and it unfortunately comes with a warranty. The song really touched me and I cry every time I hear it. AND ALL OF YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL! INSIDE AND OUT! ♡
Melanie Martinez is a musical genius. So much talent and passion in one package. I miss her. Between toxic fans and terrible presidents, she has left. 😭
OMG OMG OMG!!! AT 25:51 THE POEM SOUNDS VERY SIMILAR TO THE LYRICS IN “LIGHT SHOWER” ON MELANIE’S NEW ALBUM WHICH FURTHER FUELS MY THEORY THAT THE SONG MAY BE ABOUT MELANIE’S BF VERDE?! DID THEY KNOW EACH OTHER BACK THEN? IF SO HE MIGHT REPRESENT VERDE
they did!! they werent together but they were childhood friends and her first kiss!!
the ghost’s are the dead people who got stuck in that school during the dance thing. cause the principal forced them to dance “all night” which was forever and they died in that room. as u can see the ghosts who came running towards crybaby when she sneezed. those were the dead people who died in that dancing room.
Ahhh I see so it's like a cycle!
I’m so glad you reacted to the movie!! I find you so soothing and great to watch. Thank you for putting this together for us :)
Aw I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I like how the whole time he’s kind of just jamming but at the same time like really paying attention to the meaning of the lyrics I luv it
Heyyyy just to let you know about a year after k-12 she released an ep called After School. If you like the production value of k-12 you'd definitely like the ep. Definitely recommend.
Nice yeah I'm looking forward to reacting to it!
@@Luscent Test Me is literally one of her BEST songs
No it’s not “no one taught me not to crack” in Strawberry Shortcake, it’s “no one taught them not to grab”
Basically she’s saying I can’t wear what I like because men can’t stop themselves from taking advantage of it? Teach them not to grab instead of punishing me for wearing clothes
I think the script of the movie was longer but they have to do it shorter because of money :'). I think maybe the school was burned in the firt script (because of Fire Drill). And for HSSH it's like she has a love letter and she don't want it to be something not serious (like in soap and training wheels).
Loved the video and the react !
(sorry my english is bad)
Oh cool yeah that would make sense!
I have to admit this is the only reason I subscribed, finally it’s here, can’t wait!!!
The only reason?!? 😭😭😭
@@Luscent LMAO sorry, bad English. The main reason*** 😂😂😂

Did you notice that when the principal's son drops the money, it's Melanie's face on all the bills?
Their album is amazing!! I love it so much .. the costumes, choreography, the symbolism, everything!
So much thought went into this and all her music it’s just amazing I love her
Here's my interpretation (they might be wrong):
Wheels on the Bus- Melanie is in kindergarten. The song's about the problems with our society and how people with power choose to ignore them.
Class fight- Melanie is in first grade. The song's about war and how people don't try to stop it.
The Principal- Melanie is in second grade. The song's about the dictatorship of Donald Trump.
Show and Tell- Melanie is in third grade. The song's about her struggle with becoming famous and being forced into the spotlight.
Nurse's Office- Melanie is in fourth grade. The song's about how she and others will go to great measures to escape the struggles of world.
Drama Club- Melanie is in fifth grade. The song's about how Melanie wants to live her own life and not have her words be taken too seriously.
Strawberry Shortcake- Melanie is in sixth grade. The song's about how women are blamed and objectified for the actions of men.
Lunchbox Friends- Melanie is in seventh grade. The song's about making strong friendships rather than toxic ones that won't last.
Orange Juice- Melanie is in eight grade. The song's about learning to love yourself instead of struggling with an eating disorder because of other's opinions.
Detention- Melanie is in ninth grade. The song's about controlling authorities that don't account for your opinions.
Teacher's Pet- Melanie is in tenth grade. The song's about unhealthy relationships where someone is being taken advantage of/pedophilia.
High School Sweethearts- Melanie is in eleventh grade. The song's about wanting a serious relationship that meets the "requirements" of a good partner.
Recess- Melanie is in twelfth grade. The song's about being willing to let go of attatchment and not being afraid to take a break when it's needed.
Feel free to reply any changes I should make!
No Ur Right K-12 Is Kindergarten Through 12 Grade
I was thinking that some of the songs are actually also about things that have to do with school, like Teacher's Pet.
That one seems like it's actually about pedophilia, and teachers taking advantage of students.
I feel like the meaning behind some of the people having powers is that they aren’t as indulged in the corrupt system and see things different than the other kids who are more so “controlled” and “normal”.
At last! 🤗🎉💖 I was so excited to see you react to K-12. I watched it when it had just been released and was free on CZcams for awhile, bought the whole album on CD and the whole movie, truly remarkable and breathtaking performance done by Melanie 😭🌈✨💖

Dang it I missed the premiere. Anyways your reaction was amazing! Youre really good at picking out the meanings of the songs and you're so right its about society is so messed up but also how the school system is really messed up too. I really love this album because I can relate to it so well being in highschool its so amazing!

Finally finished watching this one as well I like how you break down the style of the videos and the songs
Thanks!
I recently found out that it wasn't all set in high-school, it was kindergarten - 12 grade- god i'm stupid
Man every time I watch your videos I think the same two things - you look like you always smell nice and clean like clothes fresh out of the dryer, and that you’re the kind of person who gives really tight, long bear hugs.
And I love these things.
I love your reactions and thoughts like A LOT! It's very rare to actually find a reactor who tries to understand the lyrics and see the rare footage of raw reaction after understanding. THAT'S WHY YOU'RE MY FAVE! 💞

You call it her matilda powers 😂 although it was never officially said or put in the movie, the black eyed version of crybaby when her powers come out is actually melatonin. She mentions melatonin in Milk and Cookies, and ZZZ :) edit: also mentioned in Walkie Talkie

I love drama club class fight and detention and the choreography on nurses and recess is outstanding
i'd love to see your reaction to the dollhouse ep, it has two songs that aren't featured in the cry baby album!
I love the reaction. I’ve never been in a school where a food fight broke out. When I was a junior there was these bully guys who flung food at my choir friends so when we went to dump our trays I poured my milk over his head. But that’s about it nobody else threw food or anything. It was over the line but he was rude to everyone in that school and I was tired of it. I left that school later that year but for the rest of that year he stopped
Not sure when the next one will be out but it hopefully might be another album/film continuation of this movie. I'm too darn excited
It will be out in 2022 and there will be another movie Melanie confirmed this on her TikTok
Fun fact: that two songs have 3 portals number 1 one is in nurse's office number 2 one is where Melanie goes to the dancing then that behind her is wall then portal shows up now of nowhere lest one the portal spawned outside of the k-12 school then they go in the portal accept for Melanie she didn't go in the portal during the class fight she throws a note at Melanie it says you at recess with a grave
I love Melanie, I wish more people listened to her music
I think the mystical powers are those who stand out and truly see the problems in our society and aren’t scared to say something but that’s just my opinion
About people with the hidden mystical powers, I think they are genuine and real ones and the others are "plastic". They are kind, honest and feel something and got something like a dark side.
I love Drama Club, Teachers Pet, Show And Tell most of my favourite songs from the film
At first I thought Recess didn't match what was going on in the movie either. But upon further reflection...
Throughout the album/film Crybaby has expressed being tired and physically exhausted. Recess talks about how people will encourage you to keep going and basically work yourself to death in spite of your physical needs.
In the movie the students are dancing physically with their bodies without the consent of their mind. This might represent going through the motions and not being mentally present. Also throughout the dance the students complain about their feet hurting and express how they can't do this for much longer. When the "spell" is broken one of them even collapses. They are being made to push themselves much further than is comfortable and much further then they would have chosen for themselves.
Wow yes great insight!!
Now you can react to her best piece of work - After School!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I'm excited to hear it!

My friend probably watches it, uh....
at least once every two months?
I think the intended ending for the movie was them to light the school on fire (fire drill) but maybe they didn’t have the time or budget for it so they brought it up in the locker room and THATS why the bubble idea was kinda random, but it was still a really good movie

idk tho
its Copy Cat
its an amazing song
i think its part of an extended version idk
if you think about it k-12 is a whole punk album
I’d say that the meaning of mystical powers would be people who don’t fit in with expectations and are more themselves and considered and outcast in society
