Dear Alexandra, I have to say I really like these videos you are making. Your style is super relaxed and feels more like chatting to a friend. Keep it up Cheers Jack
Thanks for sharing that behind-the-scenes on the day of our recital. Hope things are going well for you. I really enjoy your playing.
Im 67 and had studied Classical guitar and Lute since my late teens. I attended a Music Conservatory
and taught and played professionally for many decades. (pop music and classical)
You Tube presents an entirely new generation of players from the Segovia, J.Bream,J.Williams,C.Parkening
that were the best at that time in history.
Alexandra is a fantastic artist and so very young to have those chops.
I hope the best for her career
Thank you for sharing.
Well, I live in Woodstock, NY and although this is an artist community, and although I have been playing guitar for over 40 years..( since I was a wee-lad), you make me feel like taking my instrument and torching it like Hendrix did!...LOL!
You are actually an inspiration!!!
After watching and listening to you, my attempts to play classical are laughable!
But thank you for being this Great!!!!!
My 16 year old Son admires you as well!!!!
Thanks for sharing, Alex.
This was awesome, i always wondered how much good players are stressed before their performance
Hi Alexandra, thank you for sharing your thoughts and emotions. It's so good to have this feeling of closeness, it makes me feel more than just your fan but a friend
You spoil us 🙏
Let me know when you come to the US!
I did spot the electric guitar way before it was mentioned. 2 years ago, I started my journey with distorition guitar, but I will never forget my clasical guitar. I have played on the same one for the past 19 years (not on a professional level). I still practice the pieces I love while trying to gain more skill with distortion guitar.
It is nice to see what it looks like back of stage. Keep on rocking! 😊🤘
Dank je wel Alex. voor deze inkijk in jouw drukke maar oh zo leuke leventje !! XX
Thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to film and edit and post this video.
Thanks
Thx for the honest vid!
Timelapse of traveling from point to point is always a great use of transitions.
🔥🔥🔥video.. massive fan of this behind the scenes of a professional guitarist on concert day
Hahahaha that 5:30 transformation was so cute, made me laugh!! You look so beautiful in that costume btw! Cheers from Reutlingen Alexandra, still keeping warm memories for that concert and short chat with you in the meantime .. hope to see you again in Germany very soon!
I’ve been listening to your music for years; it helps me focus when I’m working at the hospital. Thank you for sharing “a day in the life”, keep up the excellent content!
Nice! I know lots of people in NYC who play live gigs in the East Village, carrying their instruments and even a small amp down the street, from one club, music bar, to the next. Then if all goes well, we hit a local bar and party into 3 or 4 am.
I love your videos and like this one, thanks for sharing a little bit a day with Alexandra from wake up to fall asleep 😊 Looking forward for more videos of your daily experiences ❤
Thanks for taking the time and the effort of recording and doing this video. You were really nervous and anxious 😬 but feels really real the video 🎉❤❤
That was really enjoyable and so very honest. Excellent watch.
Fun video. Thanks!! 😊
Thank you…you have inspired me to learn classical guitar. You are a very good filmmaker. 😊
Super insightful, ty so much for sharing 🥀🎶
Great vlog! Thanks for sharing
A warm and lovely insight into your life as a great musician. Thanks.
It was really nice following you from home to your concert and back. It wasn't boring at all. People always wonder how their favorite musicians prepare for their live performances. By the way, I love the Gretsch guitar hanging on the wall behind you. Gretsch makes some really sweet guitars. 👍👍👍
Eres única y particularmente original Alexandra 😘
After all these years you wouldn't think you would be so anxious before a concert. Idk, maybe that keeps you "on your toes" so to speak. You play beautifully; you truly have nothing to fear. The audience will love you.
Never thought about your blouse cutting off your circulation. Unreal. From now on, do your last practice with what you're going to wear on you, test the outfit first, right? I am sure the concert was amazing. Have your wine and sleep well.❤ thanks for sharing this day with us. Love you Alexandra!!!!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
This is just the loveliest vlog entry ever! Quick question about the warmup excercise - I assume, but obv may be wrong - that starts at 2:17: does it have a name and/or how could one go about learning it?
Seems both quite the neat finger warmer-upper And sounds so cool at the same time!
P.s. Your practice partner is kinda cute ^^
Very nice the hear! Thanks
I love it! Tks❤
Can't wait to see you next Wednesday evening in Dún Laoghaire.
I didn't dare to hope you'd ever do a tour in Ireland, and wondered if I might catch up with you in France! Hope your parents are readjusting to a sadly less-European UK.
I love your self-deprecating honesty, and your evident delight in sharing your experiences through CZcams, where I discovered you from following other guitarists.
Keep it up - and maybe go easy on the coffee on concert days: it might help you with the tremolos, but there are side-effects! 😅
Even watching you practicing is amazing!!!
Great performance in Belfast last night! Thanks for coming to Ireland!
Classical requires perfection which is so tough
Wow, the tension backstage, moments before the show, that's impressive!
Following along from the many comments thanks for sharing giving us a gist of what goes on behind the scene. I was starting to think you were the most perfect of all humans and that everything was oh so easy. But, after watching I would still say I am a bigger fan and think you are absolutely wonderful.
When I remember times with friends, the boring bits are what I miss the most. The exciting bits were terrifying!
Thank you very much for these interesting and very inspiring impressions! I really like your natural manner and your sense of humour. And your guitar playing is to die for!
You are awesome and I love your music and appreciate your videos like this showing us a part of your life. Greetings from Meéxico❤
Congratulations on the concert and your between bits. Loved the jump suit but moving arms might be more helpful. I notice my leg goes to sleep from the pressure of the lift. I appreciate you taking me with you. Thanks for the video.
ありがとうございます!
Quite the day and Alexandra's a gift for inspiring us with it.
the sweetest best😍love from your dutch fan
Great video. Very real and respectable. Greetings from Sydney, Australia. You would be very much loved 🇦🇺
Thank you for sharing. Greetings from Colorado USA
Спасибо! Всегда приятно видеть Ваши видео и слушать как Вы играете!
Loved it! Thanks for sharing!
The TLDR version is that Alexandra thought these pieces were too easy so she intentionally cut off the circulation to her arms to make them a challenge.
love this, thanks for making
4:12 Scary. 5:48 You look amazing from the waste up. 6:08 Muzak🤣 7:18 I really wish I'd been there.
❤❤❤❤❤
Yeah! My like 👍 was number 1100! 🎉🎉 😅
This was a very nice vlog. I love your jazz guitar. I didn't know at all that you were playing in a jazz band, that's interesting.
Give your cat 🐈 a few hugs. 🤗🤗🤗 She's so cute.
Love you, Keep on strong!
Wonderful Alexandra, I look forward to another wonderful CD of yours (my european journey). When will you be in Italy for your concert? Best regards Gianfranco
Awesome so cool to see into a virtuoso's routine before a gig - pretty chill - love your guitars tone I have a 500.00 dollar Alvarez which is a nice guitar but wow what a difference compared to a high end guitar - thanks for sharing!
You're an amazing guitarist and I really feel for you seeing how much you suffer before you play on stage.
I have played ONE public concert and the old timers there told me that the nerves improve the more concerts you play, This is a LIE! Even Segovia more or less stated that he was a nervous wreck before every performance! Not sure if I'll every play publicly again. If my tutor knew I was writing this, he'd go ballistic. He said that it's shameful to keep your music to yourself, because it's a joy to be shared, and he spent so much of his time teaching me. He's right, but the emotional penalties of performing can be very hard to deal with.
0:38 Off Topic. If any of you have issues feeling sleepy/drowsy, etc., consider giving up coffee. I haven't been drinking it for half a year now, and I feel much better, with improved concentration and mental clarity. Look into coffee (how it works); in a sense, it's a 'mini drug' that can ultimately be harmful.
Loved it Alexandra !
Lovely video. Its all interesting... most of us don't get to do any of this!
I'm waiting for you in Rotterdam, I love what you do!!❤
I still get the jitters every time I do something in public. Guess I always will!
What an interesting and talented person. Excellent
Without a doubt, the Brazilian people are the warmest, and you will be very welcome here. Also bring your guitar from the wall. Here the climate is also hot and we wear little clothing, this will make you relax. A strong hug.
❤❤❤❤ you look gorgeous ❤❤❤
such a pretty and talented lady
Excelente
I was at your concert in Paris two days ago. Lovely performance. I especially liked your Erik Satie's gymnopedie as the encore. I enjoyed your first Paris concert very much. By the way, which guitar support were you using? Is this a Guitarlift? Seems pretty cool
LOLOLOL "Why do I look like a figure skater from the waist up". Cracked me up.
@The_AlexandraWhittingham- Your English is terrible
Swedish coffee😀 it's the best. I try to buy Zoega Skånerost when I can - Löfbergs is good too!
You are so talented, I'm jealous
Alexandra, In seeing the chair at the venue it made wonder whether you specify the chair height or bring your own or just make do when you arrive? Thanks for sharing your day of show routines and thought. That’s very generous.
Thanks, I enjoyed that. Beautiful cat by the way.
behind the scenes videos are very interesting
Gretch !! Brian Setzer's favorite tone.,,you should put a 12 string Rickenbacker up with it to keep it company.. an you might end up going into another genre of music ,,ya never know.
A guitar without a player like a song without a voice, will never be heard.
Idea for another video; Alexandra plays Rockabilly on the Gretch!
I mean, just a thought 🤷
And Yes, they do make wonderful Objets d’Art.
W I T T I N G H A M
Thanks for giving us a glimpse of what a day is like for you when you have a concert performance. At first I thought you had a foot rest under your right leg, which didn't make sense to me. When you stod up from the chair I noticed you were using a lap stand. Which lap stand do you use? Do you find it easier to use a lap stand vs a foot rest when playing?
- Her personality sells this channel.
- Do the 18th Variation - never heard it played on guitar.
- Show more pictures of food - I'm hungry.
- Cut the sleeves out of that ice skater's outfit - keep the rest.
❤
🎉🎉
You are beautiful, you continue to shine sweetheart ❤
rock it, girl! :)
So lovely to see you darling Alexandra xx love you xx Martine xx
Incredibly beautiful music and very interesting video.
Thank you Alexandera

Dark Roast 😮🎶
You are even more beautiful when just awaken
Lo que te parece una rutina para tus seguidores será siempre una novedad y apreciado. Gracias por compartir este videoblog. Saludos.
Good morning. Nice coffee :-) thank you for make a clip.
Great ❤️💐💐
Thanks 😊
Ah! I'dlike you tu pick up the Gretsch again. Listen to "Spanish Caravan' by the Doors. Robbie Krieger cites 'Asturias' on his Gibson SG. Amazing.
@The_AlexandraWhittingham well, you should stop using this very same answer for each comment. No answer is better than a standard one made by a robot.
well done
lol .. O make those same mistakes all the time..no matter how many times I replay it I do the same thing.. and I even wrote the lick.
One of the leading classical guitarist
Пусть Бог благословит вас Александра! Счастья вам, здоровья и долгих лет жизни! Храни вас Бог!
Bello vedere Alexandra acqua e sapone mentre si prepara al concerto !!
