    2. She expected to see a sale after Thanksgiving just like it takes place in the USA;
    3. Anna told Claire that in London the Black Friday Sale holds and that she’d been to London the previous year and seen that;
    4. Yes, here in Russia many stores use this label without any sense. When you compare prices and quality of the goods you realize it’s just an ad, not a real sale. A total fake;
    5. Sure I don’t. With my income, I have to buy only essential things and only when I really need them.

      I have my birthday on August,22. I always have sales on my birthday, and I often buy presents for myself on discount. This year I got some bonuses on my discount card and bought very good shoes at half prise. I was very happy with this purchase))

      @@okenglish-practice That’s a pleasant coincidence I’d say. Didn’t know it’s August, 22. I like this number 22. If I’m so lucky to live one more year I'll wish you a happy birthday next time ❤ Personally, I don’t like my birthdays. My fave ‘holiday’ is summer. When I buy something I usually look at the price tag first no matter what color it is.

    1. After Thanksgiving, as a typical American, Sarah planned to go shopping on Black Friday which ine of the biggest shopping days of the year in the US, taking place on the Friday followed Thanksgiving. Sarah was looking forward to that day, was excited about Black Friday shopping in Europe. She thought it should have been marvelous. As I remember, she was going to buy a Prada bag or something like that. She asked Anna to be kind enough to show her the best malls in Vienna, wgere to go first.
    2 Sarah expected about shopping in Vienna really big sales, as they are in the USA. She intended to buy lots of things on hot sales. She remembered her friend's experience who bought a bag and a dress on a huge discount
    3. Anna made Sarah upset saying that per se thing like Black Friday doesn't exist in Vienna to such an extent like in the USA. She said that in London there is a huge discount, but London is not the whole Europe(
    4. Of course, I guess, in every county, formally, this day exists. Every shop writes on their signs: "BIG SALES", "BLACK FRIDAY ", etc. But I don't know exactly, but, accepting Anna's words, BF is American thing, in America discounts are real, they are really reduced, you can finally buy what you wanted for a long time. We all saw these short videos with flights for goods in American shops. But the fact is the fact. There are discounts. In my country, many people notice that the prices a week before BF and on BF often the same, but they write on tag: "Was 50 dollars, not it's 25" and before BF it costed maybe 25,maybe 27 dollars, we don't such big sales like in America
    5. Yes,I do. But it depends on the thing and how much I need it and how quickly. If I want it right and here,I buy it

    3) She said that They have Black Friday in London. And she remembered it was difficult to walk near Harrods and Oxford on Black Friday
    4) Yes, I've heard, but in my country some shops are trying to change the name of black Friday to green Friday. Because of the color
    5) No, I don't. I cannot say that I love shopping

    It's time to answer some questions:
    1) Sarah planned to go shopping on Black Friday sales after Thanksgiving.
    2) She expected the real shopping in a big outlet with cool discounts.
    3) Anna said that in London there is a cool sale.
    4) Yes, I have. I've heard about Black Friday sales in Russia.
    5) I don't like to go shopping on Black Friday sales, because there are a lot of people in malls.

    • @okenglish-practice
      @okenglish-practice  Před 3 lety +5

      It's logical that -ing is a suffix. But all my years at school it was defined by teachers as an ending. I believe not only my teachers were mistaken. A lot of people call -ing an ending, so I can use both names and it's ok. People don't care at all if it's a suffix or an ending)

    Hello. Is it possible to say "I was impressed to realise that he HAD talked my friends into it"? Because, from my perspective, he talked them into BEFORE she realised it and before he proposed.
    1. Sarah was used to going shopping on Black Friday after Thanksgiving and she planned to have a big shopping day the following day. That was why she started to ask Claire's friend Anna to show her the best malls and outlets in Vienna.
    2. In the letter to Claire Sahar said that she was going to buy a new fashionable dress and a perfect bag in the well-known brand stores. And she expected the stores to have a huge Black Friday sale with cool discounts.
    3. Anna said that in London they have a big Black Friday sale every year and all the shopping streets are always very crowded because of the event.
    4. I have heard about Black Friday in my country but I almost never expect the sale to be real. But in China they had huge sales online on the 11th of November. It can be called Black Friday too and I bought some electronic devices during the sale last year, for example, a mobile phone for my mom and also headphones.
